  1. Abba co-founder Bjorn Ulvaeus:
“Look at all the misery in the Middle East for example. All these countries have Islam in common, and far too few dare to criticize Islam as an ideology, and what it’s doing to these countries. I know I might get punched in the face for saying these things, but my conviction is that less religion in the world would be better.”

  2. It was inevitable, we’re already well down that road:

This morning, the corporate twitter account of telecoms giant AT&T tweeted a picture of someone using a cool new phone to take a picture of the New York skyline. A pretty typical marketing gimmick, apart from the fact that the picture focused on the twin beams of light shining up from ground zero, along with the line “Never forget”.

Yes, AT&T were attempting to hock phones using the anniversary of September 11 as a hook – a spectacularly ill-judged “advermemorial”, as it’s been called.

  3. If you want further proof what a ridiculous bag of sassafras Obama is, look here (courtesy of One Free Korea):
“The United States is trying to enlist Beijing’s support for military action against Syria by arguing that it would help deter North Korea from using chemical weapons and threatening security in China’s neighborhood, a U.S. official said Tuesday.”
    http://abcnews.go.com/International/wireStory/us-warns-north-korean-chemical-weapons-threat-20207811
North Korea, by the way, has been using chemical weapons against its own people in the concentration camps no one bothers mentioning.

  4. If any of you can read French, Radio-Canada is now blaming crude oil from the Bakken Field in North Dakota as a possible cause of the violent explosions in Downtown Lac Mégantic after a train derailed on July 06-13. Apparently, the methane levels in Bakken crude are higher than other oils.
Ah, like, hellooo Quebec! If a 747 crashed on Albert Street in Regina, is the type of fuel in the tanks an issue–or should we be looking at who landed it there and for what reason??

  5. I think Radio-Canada counts on most of us not understanding French.
RT: Via Maggie’s Farm, Michael Snyder at Freedom Outpost looks at some of the sponsors of the Syrian rebels. Qatar, for one, has reportedly given the rebels some $3 billion dollars. Why Qatar? It’s a long story that involves power plays over proposed vs. present pipeline routes, the European market for natural gas, Russia’s Gazprom, Turkey, Iran, Iraq, Saudi Arabia…
Worth reading (and clicking the links) if you need a face-palm.

  6. A simple painting and a simple explanation say it all.
From Jon McNaughten’s website, “Many Americans today feel a sense of dismay and horror as we see our country in a downward spiral; both economically, morally, and politically. President Obama’s indifferent attitude and the continuous list of scandals and bad policy are leading the country to ruin.
As an artist I am reminded of the old saying “Nero fiddled while Rome burned.” History believes that Nero himself may have set the great fire that burned a part of Rome during his leadership. Afterwards, he blamed it on the Christians who suffered great persecution under his rule. I see great similarities to what we are experiencing today. Obama fiddled, while the people witnessed the demise of America.

  7. GW Bush from the standpoint of this Canadian was an arrogant American prick,, but now in hindsight, compared to the current US Prez, GW was and is a GIANT!
And Canada’s Harper, well he stands taller than them ALL!
Yes, and Russia’s Putin is still a Communist in the same vein as Stalin, godless bastards all!

  8. And yet despite your criticism Putin is still a free enterprise moderate compared to the opposition which is all literally communist hard liners, and unlike Barak Obama (also a communist hard liner) has true leadership qualities. To sum up democracy in Russia Its literally Putin or back to the USSR.
In Western democracy we had a fiscal conservative base that due to some sense of fair play allowed itself to be infiltrated by neocons aka leftist infiltrators, aka New Conservatives with none of the values. We stood idle while socialists branded real conservatives as neo-cons and let them run amok while they infiltrated every unelected decision making body in the country and we have continued to stay idle while the socialists let in the barbarians.
Putin on the other hand has the gonads to stand up to Islam. The barbarians literally surround his country and he keeps the communists at bay.
Lets face it Putin has brought his once broken communist country back to being a political and economic dynamo and right now its leaving the United States in the dust.
Yes Russia is like the modern wild west frontier, but Russians also enjoy more freedom from the nanny state and probably the most politically incorrect culture on the planet.

  9. “Olympus Has Fallen”
“No, the man known as President Obama left the building after his Syria speech. What’s left in the White House is Barry Soetoro or whatever he goes by now; a shrunken, confused husk surrounded by court jesters, second-rate ideologues and sycophants. And while it may be tempting to gloat at his reversal of fortune, the truth is that the collapse of the Presidency represents the most dangerous moment in America since the September 11, 2001 attacks.
Olympus has fallen. America’s leadership is functionally impaired in the face of a thrusting, fast-moving and possibly brilliant opponent. Of course, the fact that Putin was up against a broken reed made it easier for him. Yet however one may admire Putin’s skills it must be an admiration tempered by fear; of the kind felt by the British 8th Army in the face of Rommel; of the sort with which Gamelin regarded Guderian. Nothing can disguise the fact that Putin is the enemy and America is less than competently led in its contest against him. Something must be done to stem the tide. But by what?”

“I fear a wounded narcissist with his hand on the enormous power of the US government.”
    “derekkite
That vacuous twit in the White House is now being laughed at. Either he shoots himself or does something overwhelmingly stupid in an attempt to regain face. I don’t fear the Russians or Syrians, the Iranians can do harm but can lose everything in the doing.
I fear a wounded narcissist with his hand on the enormous power of the US government.”

  11. There was a time in my younger days when I enjoyed some of Neil Young’s stuff.
But sadly in his waning years Neil has his head up his ass in areas where where reality has never trod.
Pity that a gifted artist veered so far to the left, Eh?
Joining assholes like Bruce Cockburn, Joanie Mitchell and sad to say Gordon Lightfoot in his later years, whom I truly admired for his talent in his productive heyday.
But such is life on this plane.
OH Lord, IT’s Hard to Be Humble!

“No Warming Left To Deny…Global Cooling Takes Over…CET Annual Mean Temperature Plunges 1°C Since 2000”
“Lately we’ve been seeing and hearing lots media reports of cooling and cold weather extremes. Global temperature data, such as HadCrut 4, show warming has disappeared altogether.”
“Looking at the data for the last decade or so, one thing stands clear: Global temperatures have been showing many more signs of cooling than warming. Already we are sensing that global temperature has lost the battle to stay up. The HadCrut data series above shows that cooling has gained the upper hand. Indeed warming is now in the history books, having died some 15 years ago.
Forget the missing heat – the real story is the present cooling.”

“Ontario has signed generous contracts with wind producers for about 5,800 megawatts of electricity, only about 1,500 of which is currently connected to the grid.”

  15. Barry’s op-ed in Pravda:
Russian People, Mr. Putin, why do you let this tin-pot Arab dictator dictate terms to the US of A? This is beyond the Pale. Assad makes me very angry, he or you are constantly in my face presence. But I will not allow myself to feel the insult as I am superior to him and Congress, or any other living being, even Allah himself. But I digress.
Did you not understand the plan we agreed upon last time we met, you know, when I described you as looking like a bored school kid? I think maybe you were not listening to my plan for me to avoid public embarassment over this issue.
Anyway, let’s go with your plan and just keep the microphones away. I told you I would have more flexibility after I was re-elected. Now I can kiss your arse while you are behind me. BTW Let go of my balls; I have no use for them but Michelle seems to enjoy them.

  16. Are they being paid to not produce amounts of electricity more than they already are not producing?
Yes, I know, complicated phraseology but the question central: Is this just another fraud on top of a previous fraud? Are the liberal friends trying to cash in before they are cashed out?
