  1. “Amateur” is far too benign to describe this level of idiocy. “A shared evidentiary base” indeed.
Rule #1 in Teheran is that the US is the enemy.
Rule #2 in Teheran is that the US lies about everything.
Rule #3 in Teheran is that the US us out to get us (Iran) for our nuclear weapons program. On what basis would the mullahs accept a “shared evidentiary base”? After all, because of our nuclear weapons program, supposedly we’re next.
Whatever the Iranians are, they’re not stupid. After all, if they throw Syria to the wolves, they’re next. Better the US and all the rest of the do-gooders remains preoccupied with Damascus rather than turning their attention to east of the Zagros Mountains.
I swear that Obama, Kerry, Powers et.al. must be sitting around sniffing glue to be this delusional about Iranian intentions.

  2. This has got to be some bizarre kind of quintuple-bluff mindgame diplomatic 3D-chess fake-out type dealie.

  3. I agree, Mamba – this level of stupidity is so extreme it is almost unbelievable.
To paraphrase Hanlon’s Razor, “never attribute to strategy what can adequately be explained by extraordinary stupidity”.
Or to continue your chess analogy, I’m afraid laying down the king is simply laying down the king, not the beginning of a deviously surreptitious checkmate sequence.

  4. I figure Congress will back the Prez, and the U.S will fire the Tomahawks by next Wednesday. After that, who knows.
Gas prices will spike, make sure you fill your tanks.

  5. I cant link to Drudge with this phone but even the Pope is telling the Muzzie in chief to back down.
Every Catholic church in the world will be told of the Pope’s stance on this fiasco.
Good Catholic Pelosi’s head to explode in 3,,,2,,,1,,,

  6. If I remember correctly it was Rudy Juliani who queried….
    “Community organizer? What’s that?….”
Whatever….this loon is probably just totally outa his depth….
Putin got it right…”Monkey with a hand grenade….”
Right now there is much more indication that this gas attack is a “rebel” false flag…..than an Assad regime action….

  7. G…Kerry the jew is also catholic
I realy don’t think that it matters any more what any one says or doesn’t say, the fool will toss some tomahawks over the fence just to prove he is a “man”, because every one is laffing at the jerk, and calling him incompetent, interesting times ahead:-)))

  8. Obama must be stunned -stunned!- that no one is listening to him. He wants the situation in the Middle East to disintegrate and Israel to be destroyed but wonders why no one will let him do that faster.

  9. Ah yes, the thought “processes” of the third of the Night Hags. Well, there is honour even among thieves and murderers (provided they are not druggies), and Iran like Russia no doubt values loyalty. The Loathsomeness on the other hand loves betrayal, and the Americans in recent years have been over-willing to fulfill Bernard Lewis’s description of them, “harmless as an enemy, treacherous as a friend” – and, I may add, hated by all and trusted by none.

  10. c, exactly.
Putin was right, as is Syncrodox @ 7:35.
This administration still thinks if you sing kumbaya enough and bow and scrape to enough Sheiks there will be peace in its time.

  11. Just when you think Obozo has plumbed the depths of stupidity, he manages to outdo himself. Who in their right mind would think that a regime currently attempting to produce nuclear weapons to eradicate Israel would dump an ally because of fauxto journalistic stories about it using a nerve agent on civilians??? Yes, I’m sure the Iranians destroyed every portion of their chemical weapons stockpile after Saddam gassed them in the 1980’s given how horrified they were about the results of this attack/sarc
We’re dealing with a death cult here; all of those people killed by Saddam in the 1980’s were martyrs who got their 72 goats or virgins or whatever prizes muzzies get for being killed in a jihad. Iran had absolutely no compunction to send out human “martyr” mine clearing teams which worked on the principle that Iran had more martyrs than Iraq had mines. It’s too bad the Iran-Iraq war ended so soon as there was real potential in that conflict to selectively remove fanatic islamofascists form the gene pool and raising the average intelligence of both countries.
When dealing with a country whose leaders have wet dreams about making Hitler seem like an amateur in the Jew-killing business, who in their right mind would think that such individuals would be at all shocked by a thousand or so dead as a result of sarin or whatever the cholinesterase inhibitor of choice happened to be that week?
How much more stupidity on the part of the US administration do we have to see before impeachment proceedings get started? Let’s just hope that the Russians don’t assume that there’s some clever plot directed against them behind this facade of idiocy; it might be worthwhile sending Putin some more information about affirmative action programs and their results.

  12. You know who understands Arabs? The Arab street. Obama and quite frankly the rest of the world haven’t got a clue what is going on over there – that is why they come to these foolish conclusions.
As each day passes it gets more embarrassing for the U.S. He’s hopeless.

  13. That’s not it at all. Obama is a fellow traveler. He really thinks the the terrorists respect that.

  14. Right now the major difference between the USA and the Boy Scouts is that the Boy Scouts have adult leaders.

  15. OK, this one has me a bit perplexed – I don’t recall the Pope commenting on Iraq or Afghanistan. Is there some kind of Fatima Prophecy / Gog / Magog thing going on here? Maybe we are on the precipice of The Big One.

  16. Well, I wasn’t going to say that as there seems to be some dispute about that.
Loki, I suspect that the Russians know exactly what caliber of administration they are dealing with. Reagan, now that was the opposite.

  17. Ken, I really hope you’re right about the Russians properly sizing up the Obozo administration. Having a strong streak of Slavic paranoia myself, I tend to distrust anything that seems too obvious. Maybe Putin’s “monkey with a hand grenade” description of Obozo reflects the view of the Russian military in which case thus Russians won’t escalate the situation after Obozo decides to launch a few cruise missiles at aspirin factories and similar high priority Dumbocrat targets. If congress votes against any military intervention in Syria, and the TOTUS goes ahead anyway, there’s a very strong case to be made for impeachment.
The primary reason for the Russians strongly supporting Syria is that this will prevent the construction of a new natural gas pipeline from Qatar to Europe. In this way Gazprom will have the ability to neuter the Euroweenies at any point (although it’s hard to see how they can be neutered any more than they already are) and Qatar will have to find other markets for its natural gas. It seems that the Saudi’s have undue influence in Washington and the best way to bankrupt the Saudi’s is to make the US self-sufficient in oil.
The idea that the TOTUS is a muslim controlled by the Saudi’s is getting more and more prevalent. Was talking to a patient of mine this week who works as a long-haul trucker to the southern US, and he spontaneously mentioned that he thinks that Obozo is a muslim acting against US interests and mentioned that he’s heard more and more such opinions in his travels. Might explain why 80+% of the US population is totally opposed to the American military furthering the interests of the Saudi royal family. With “friends” like the wahabist islamofascists in Arabia, who needs enemies?

  18. Well, given the prophecy of Malachy, and the fact that this Pope or pope was rapidly elected after a rare Papal retirement, and he is a pure blood Italian Jesuit cloaked with the Franciscan namesake; it might raise an eyebrow… not to mention a nuclear Iran, global fascism, and an impoverished broken subverted United States.
Of course there are over 3 million undefended Christians living in Syria, so it’s the big one for at least some of us.

  19. Why should the Iranians have any faith in what the USA or the UN says? If I were them I think I would be building a bomb as well. The West let Saddam invade Iran at the cost of 2.5 million dead. Gas was used then as well. No UN intervention, in fact the USA gave Saddam weapons.
I can see why the Iranians aren’t that excited by a few hundred dead Syrians by gas. In the grand scheme of things it is an obvious pretext for further western involvement in the ME. If killing your own people was the basis for determining intervention or not then why has the world stood by as untold millions of North Koreans have died at the hands of their leadership? Pol Pot in Cambodia, Rwanda, Uganda or Rhodesia?
It is a crock and Canada had better keep our military at home and our wallet closed.

  20. Back when Bam Bam (Bomb Bomb) first burst on the scene, I like many others realized he was a puppet with some invisible power pulling the strings. Many picked their favourite anti-hero George Soros as the man with his hand up Bammy’s butt. I always doubted that although there was no doubt Soros had some influence there wasn’t enough evidence of clear benefit to George to maintain that theory. I had my suspicions when Husein bowed to the Saudi King and everything after that has led me to conclude that Barry is the front man to the Saudi cartel that has taken over the American White House. I can only hope that the American people will resist the Saudis and stay out of Syria.
On a slightly different topic: Malcolm Muggeridge once opined that political power lowers the office holders IQ. I have kept that little thought rolling around in the back of my brain and then when I heard Stephen Harper blather on about the evils of the Syrian gas attacks it kinda sprang to the fore.
Steve can we talk? Don’t put so much faith in your intelligence services. They are not your friends.

  21. Well, as far as Putin having Obama pegged, I base my view on the fact that from the early 1940s until the geriatric trio Brezhnev et al let the Soviet Union stagnate in a non-working system, politically and economically, and until Reagan used the economic clout in the arms race to scare Gorby into Soviet political renovations, the Soviets continually outfoxed the west. Something I did not like by the way.
I agree that this war scare is about oil in some way for both sides and not about the gassed civilians. The Kurds that Saddam gassed did not matter at the time, nor did previous alleged gassing in Syria. Suddenly now some hypothetical red-line has been crossed.
I also suspect that your truck driver patient is probably right. Too many coincidences of bowing and scrapping along with too many Wahabists close to the Oval Office.
Joe, that is good advice for Steve.
