  1. a cabinet-level “Principals Committee” meeting

    Not to worry,
Valerie Jarrett will bring us peace with honor.

  2. Op Empty Chair I was Ben Ghazi…this would be Operation Empty Chair II.
The TOTUS will tell the POTUS what was discussed.
As Ezra suggested this is ‘foreign policy by cruise missile press release’.
Wooden head, wooden shoes, wouldn’t listen…I’m sure Effendi Obama will tell us all what it means in the morning after Golf Cart I circles the White House lawn.
Thereupon, we will learn how the 5 iron is used to avoid the desert sand trap.
    Cheers

  3. Shooting skeet? We only wish.At least then there would be a chance the muzzie-in-chief would shoot himself. Has anybody seen a more repugnant, useless piece of sh1t in the WH? As Kathy would say, should have picked your own damn cotton. Time to close our border to keep the lousy leftards from coming here when the USSA collapses.

  4. Putting Obumbles in a room where principles were being discussed would be like exposing Dracula to sunlight – ain’t gonna happen – “community organizing” is always done in the shadows – so its federal counter part (national disorganizing) is only done behind closed doors at night on a full moon.

  5. Don’t know what premise they can use for a cruise missle launch?
The one hasn’t been caught not having it in the oval office.

  6. waddya mean no POTUS in the room! Valerie Jarrett was at the head of the table as usual.
It is reported that she wanted it to look official with Barry in the room but earlier she had sent Barry (her boy) out to get her a coffee and doughnut. Unfortunately Reggie wanted to play bum boy with Barry about then so Barry didn’t make it back in time.

  7. No POTUS?
‘Sounds like a good thing to me. Now, if he never comes back, PTL and hallelujah. Oblahblah’s presence is a negative.

  8. Do you think a “Principals Committee” meeting would be more or less productive with Obama in the room? What expertise would he add to the discussion? Is there a community organizing angle to this Syria thing?

  9. This way, when the war proves to be a scandal-ridden and costly mistake, he can claim to have ‘just heard about it on the news’.

  10. It appears that PMSH is being drawn into another Coalition of the Willing, like Libya. If this is what comes down then my support for the CPC will be in question. Canada has very little national interest concerns in Syria. In fact a closing of the Suez and the Straits of Hormuz is more in our national interest.
If the ME blows up Keystone II, Northern Gateway, Energy East and the Trans Mountain upgrade all move forward. Kenney should be soliciting for foreign fighters to Syria not trying to stop them.

  11. So we are about to become embroiled in yet ANOTHER Middle Eastern conflict. Egypt, Libya, Lebanon, Iraq, Syria………..it never, NEVER ends. I am tired of perpetuating this. We’ve tried everything else to stabilize this region – foreign aid, regime change, UN involvement in democratic elections, etc………but to no avail. Clearly they are not interested in that. So be it. Now is the time for strict containment, and putting severe restrictions on immigration from this region. I say we do just that and when these barbarians decide to come out of the 12th century, then we can welcome them to the world community. And after being left strictly alone, despite giving them exactly what they want, they STILL want to attack us, then let rain a merciless and overwhelming response. No boots, no occupation, just a *message*, however many times it takes.

  12. This operation is about destroying any trace of WMDs that were moved from Iraq. Obama wants to keep a politically safe distance.

“In fact a closing of the Suez and the Straits of Hormuz is more in our national interest. ”
you like others in here seam unable to grasp that THAT is on the table here, that and Israels future. If Israel feels too threatened then all bets are off as to her using restraint in her own defence, thusly armegedon would not just be a biblical myth!!

  14. Same old cycles, riches, laziness and greed, lead to economic collapse, recession and then war.
War is very useful perhaps even essential to divert the taxpayers attention away from the scoundrels who are responsible for destruction of social values and public wealth.
Governance being best described by Mencken, as creating an imaginary hobgoblin to frighten the masses with.
Hence the love of propaganda by our Kleptocray.
Hopefully Harper is still enough of an indedepent to act in Canadians interest, Syria has no benefit for us and more instability in this region will only benefit our oil sellers.

  15. NME666;
I suspect that Israel starts everyday faced with the reality of some Arab nutbar trying to finish them off. Syria is a geopolitical play between Iran and Saudi Arabia. They use religion as an excuse but I suspect it is all about political dominance in the Arab world.
I think I do get it. My point is that Canada is not a world policeman and should take care of business where it counts most. If Israel is attacked it becomes a different matter.

  16. The USAF is about to become, for the third time, the Islamo-fascist Air Force. Sarajevo, Kosovo and now Syria.

  17. Don’t be so hard on Obama. He’s just taking time off, to look for the Benghazi attackers.
Syria in his mind is already his by right. We are but to obey his every command.

  18. So American missiles are going to be killing Arab babies. For what? Harper’s sounding more war mongering than I like. I think killing more Arabs and taking on another sovereign Arab country is stupid. And why do we always end up on the side of stone age idiots? I thought Vietnam was a good war. I think Arabs can figure out their own problems without us killing them.

  19. scar, the USA stayed out of WW2, and were did that get them, an Japanese attack. They are better stating their case up front and with ample force, and hold the threat of total, and I mean total annilation , if the suckers don’t settle down. Hell, if they had gone into Afganistan with tactical nukes we wouldn’t be here having this discussion, every one would have learned their lesson

  20. I did not know they had moved from the 7th century to the 12th century. I must have been pulling a Rip van Winkle.

  21. I can’t think of anything more stupid than a US attack on Syria. Right now Assad is winning and, the longer that the war goes on in Syria, the less threatened Israel will be. Putin has the Russian navy in force in the Mediterranean and any US attack on Syria will result in a direct confrontation with Russia.
When islamofascists kill other islamofascists, the most prudent thing to do is let them continue to do so. One would think that with the disastrous results of the “arab spring” in Egypt and Libya that the US has learned that getting rid of a dictator can make things much worse. It seems that the only way to keep islamofascists under control is the application of large amounts of brute force which will get their attention.
Hopefully large numbers of US troops will refuse to participate in what is shaping up to be an illegal war and they should obtain easy asylum in Canada. This is one fight that Canada should stay away from as far as possible. Given the precarious state of US military finances absolutely no cruise missiles should be wasted on Syrian targets and the only role for US troops would be to wade in if it looks like the jihadists are about to gain control of chemical weapons stocks. With the Russians around it’s likely that the probability of such an event happening is remote.
One couldn’t think of a more lopsided matchup than Putin and Obozo. Any US intervention will result in a major increase in Russian influence in the region and the high likelyhood of unacceptable losses by the US for a war which simply shouldn’t be fought.
