Why this blog?
Until this moment I have been forced to listen while media and politicians alike have told me "what Canadians think". In all that time they never once asked.
This is just the voice of an ordinary Canadian yelling back at the radio -
"You don't speak for me."

Cool! I seem to remember a proposal along the same lines for extracting oil from the oilsands. They’d set off an underground nuke and the oil was supposed to drip into the void for easy extraction. Can you imagine fruitfly’s expression if they did that!
I owe a h/t to one of our readers on this one, but lost the email! My apologies, it’s a great find.
Nuclear fracking – a stupid idea for Canadians – benefits the Americans, of course.
However, extraction of oil from oil sands uses a lot of heat, and a nuclear reactor would be useful as a source for that heat. Canada makes nuclear reactors, occasionally.
Sorta like swatting flies with a Bofors 40mm, but hey, why not?
Radioactive gas – whod’a thunk?
Yeah well, that era was the nuclear silly season….
For whatever reason the US popped a nuke at high altitude over the Pacific and discovered Electromagnetic Pulse by knocking out power 1500 miles distant in Hawaii….
It was discovered that Lithium 6 and Lithium 7 both fuel an H-bomb….Ivey Mike….a 2.5mt device that popped about 15….surprise…surprise…..
the Russians changed history and geography with the “Tzar Bomba” (50+Megaton)…..
Cool!
Unfortunately the David Suzuki Foundation does not list his personal email for me to pass the link to him.
Now thats a farcking fracking!
Project Plowshare!

Interesting movie, however, that’s the first time I’ve heard of Rifle, Colorado being in the Four Corners area. It’s almost 200 miles away. It’s like describing Edmonton as being in the Calgary area or Prince Albert as being in the Regina area.
I’m all for Nukes. Not for drilling but as a deterrent for others to attack us.
We should have had our own program 50 years ago.
Who thinks today that Obama would protect this Nation?
Better to stand on our own. To many resource’s here. To much fresh water, with other goodies people would love to take. In a lawless World now,a fence like that would be needed.

Canada has produced some very useful small scale reactors ideally suited for that application. Four of the original SLOWPOKE reactors are still operating successfully without incident decades later.

I LOVE IT! Could you imagine if they tried that today!!!Lol Just what we need in PA,at least there wouldnt be chemicals in the well water!
