  3. I see that once again, the UN IPCC is doubling down on its warming/Change/”Today’s meme” on the Chicken Little syndrome.
    Did you know that warming is acccelerating? That ocean levels are rising dangerously? So saith GloBull airhead Randene Neill and Chris GAYlis, with commentary from some acolyte from SFU’s climate fraud department, and wonder of wonders, Andrew Weaver.
    No counter was offered as it is incontrovertible, after all.
    Yet, current evidence says that the arctic ice sheet remains at a steady level of cover for this time of year, AND the onset of pack ice growth, by sub-zero temperatures has started 30 DAYS EARLY THIS YEAR.

While supporting an Atlantic Richfield study on Ellesmere Island with a Bell 206 helicopter in the late seventies I dipped fresh meltwater out a small pond on an iceberg with a forty five gallon drum for cooking and drinking water. That was on Canon Fjiord. There appeared to be no calving glaciers on the fjiord so it had apparently drifted in while the fjiord was open water at some time previous. I reckoned that if it had been open water before it would likely happen again. Sure enough it became ice free in the summer months in recent years. That does not prove global warming is occuring but rather there are long term cycles that happen over and over again.

Thomas Sowell is right in his article, particularly about President Wilson’s misguided efforts to remake Europe after the 1918 armistice and now with support of Arab Springs everywhere in the ME. The European rebuild came back to bite the victorious allies and it appears that the various Arab Springs will as well.
    I wonder, did Wilson and now Obama support or even drive these changes though naivety or by sinister design?

  10. Was a DJ once in a former life, and pretty damn good at it too. Helped pay for university and had change left over. Did hundreds of gigs and rarely had one go wrong. Everything from high-end weddings, to big business functions, to weekend-long outdoor events, even did a biker party once and got out alive.
    And one thing I learned is that good DJs don’t mess about playing only music *they* like. The mix it up. They recognize that their audience has a variety of tastes. They learn quickly that it is not *them* that matters, but the audience. The self-centered my-music-or-the-highway DJs crashed and burned with time.
    That EBD, is my tip of the day. So much beautiful music written and played over the centuries, covering a huge spectrum of genres, and you seem to know nothing of it. Same old same old night after night.

DJs don’t play Swiss yodeling tunes, archival black-and-white silent footage of London and Glasgow at the turn of the century, movie clips, comedy routines, Mongolian music, vaudeville routines, medieval music, rock, pop, shin-kicking contests, Russian dash-cam footage, foreign national anthems, punk music, country music, four-hundred year old Scottish folk music, cheesy Euro-pop, comedy sketches, jazz, opera, four-part documentaries about Enoch Powell’s “Rivers of Blood” speech, etc., etc., etc.

  19. Lizzie like most watermellons doesn’t understand the difference between installed capacity and energy produced. Wind farms all over the world are lucky to produce 15% of their installed capacity.
    While it might be easy to blame them for misrepresentation, I suspect it’s more due to ignorance. Math, science ,and engineering is not the long suit for most of them.

  21. One of the more recent lies to be debunked was the claim that “97% of scientists” believe in CAGW. The author of the original paper upon which that claim was based now herself admits the methodology was cooked, and the real number is substantially below 50%. Posted by: Steve Macdonald
    I’m not disagreeing, however claiming that’s true because Steve Macdonald said so won’t convince anyone, so a link to the source of that statement would be very useful.

    We now have reports from London Tuesday of a summer intern at Bank of America found dead in his apartment from overwork, at age 21. Moritz Erhardt, a German who studied during the winter at the University of Michigan, had not slept eight days out of the last two weeks. After working 72 hours with no breaks the late Mr. Erhardt, an epilpetic, had a fit in his shower.
    At Bank of America and other City banks, workweeks for interns of 100 hours or more are the norm. Mr. Erhardt’s body was found when he failed to turn up at his desk promptly the next morning without having submitted a suitable excuse, and his superiors sent his colleagues to his apartment to drag the lazy blackguard back to work.

    An inquest will be held into the death, I hear, which is the usual way of avoiding holding anybody whose comfort is of any real interest to our masters accountable for their latest outrage or cock-up.
    Back in the real world, if they’re feeling generous, maybe Bank of America will give Moritz’s next of kin a few thousand quid out of petty cash on condition they not sue or demand any real justice. If they has the sense God gave them, they’ll take it—BoA can afford much better lawyers than they can, I’m quite sure, paid to make sure far bigger things than this go away. Any justice for the poor boy will have to wait for the court of the Almighty.

    The same banks, I hear, frequently hire the children of prominent Chinese communists, paying them top dollar to do little or nothing (many rarely bother showing up for work) except to ensure their particular gang of banksters has the ear of the right people in the Chinese Communist Party in the short term.
    (It is possible as well that having a well-bred Chinese wife is part of the exit strategy for many of the bankster bigshots for when they cash out of the Western world for good. It’s a lot easier to get asylum somewhere if the fella who hands out the visas is a drinking buddy of your father-in-law!)

    I suspect it will spark quite an interesting debate if posted. And it’s a sic jam also.

  34. I would post it as the Tips music selection – the lyrics and the message are a nice antidote to the usual rap ethos – but some of the language is just a little too off-colour (no pun intended) for a main-page post.
    Those who are interested can just look up “Ill Mind of Hopsin 5” on YouTube. I found it helpful to Google the lyrics, too, just to get a better idea of the positive message he’s delivering.
