  1. The Associated Press issued a formal retraction of a photo it published that claimed to show that a large lake had formed at the North Pole due to global warming.”
    AP:

Editors, photo editors, and photo librarians – please eliminate AP photo NY109 that was sent on Saturday, July 27, 2013. The caption inaccurately stated that “the shallow metlwater lake is occuring due to an unusually warm period.” In fact, the water accumulates in this way every summer. In addition, the images do not necessarily show conditions at the North Pole, because the weather buoy carrying the camera used by the North Pole Environmental Observatory has drifted hundreds of miles from its original position…

    Do read.

  3. The “Intellectual Left” at Vancouver City Hall have decided that Point Grey Road, on which 7,000 cars per day travel upon, will now be shut down to all but local traffic, plus some bicycle lanes. This is a very peculiar decision as it has been a major throughway in the northwest corner of the city. Earlier today, Bruce Allen explained what’s at the heart of it. Essentially the extremely rich who live in that part of the city, used the desires of the bicycling zealots as cover to turn this street into their own private driveway. Not precisely a gated community but almost effectively the same thing.
And guess who just bought property in the area? Mayor Moonbeam, Gregor Robertson.

  4. Starting with 2016 elections, the law would require North Carolina voters to provide one of seven acceptable forms of photo ID to vote in person.
Many expired IDs would still work for the oldest adults and people who don’t have an ID can get one for free through the Division of Motor Vehicles.

    Anyway…
The left is going bat shit crazy because they say we are disfranchising large minority voting women.
    Well, ‘Excuse Me’ !
The Supreme Court passed the law.
Now show us your photo id, or you don’t vote,
or drive a car, or buy cigarettes, or buy beer, or buy wine, or get in an R rated movie,
or fingernail polish remover, or a shotgun, or a pistol, or 22cal bullets, etc….

Get all the fanatical Islamic brotherhood leaders together in a sit-down protest,
    then attack and kill them.
Looks like the Egyptian army knows what is best for the country…

“Record temperatures across North Asia have killed dozens and pushed electricity grids to near breaking point, forcing governments to introduce emergency measures as more of the same heat is forecast.
Air-conditioning in South Korea’s public buildings has been shut off as the government yesterday warned of power shortages. China has opened air-raid shelters as makeshift cooling stations, while thousands in Japan have been hospitalized for heatstroke.
“We are in a critical situation where, if any single power generator goes wrong, we will have to resort to rolling blackouts just like we did in 2011,” Yoon Sang Jick, South Korea’s minister of trade, industry and energy, said in a speech on Aug. 11.”

  13. “GOP lawmaker invites rodeo clown who mocked Obama to perform in Texas”
“Rep. Steve Stockman (R-Texas) invited the rodeo clown who sparked controversy by donning a mask of President Obama at the Missouri State Fair to preform in Texas, his office said Wednesday.
“Liberals want to bronco bust dissent. But Texans value speech, even if its speech they don’t agree with,” Stockman said in a statement. “From Molly Ivins to Louie Gohmert and every opinion between, Texans value free and open political speech. I’m sure any rodeo in Texas would be proud to have [the] performers.”
According to news accounts, the rodeo clown put on the Obama mask before being chased by bulls around a pen, leading to condemnations from a bipartisan group of lawmakers, including Sen. Claire McCaskill (D-Mo.) and Republican Lt. Gov. Peter Kinder. He was introduced by an announcer who asked the audience if they wanted to see “Obama run down by a bull.”
But Stockman dismissed the reaction as “straight out of Alinsky.””

  14. More AlMohammed’s Cannibalism:
“Horrifying moment Egyptian protestors pushed an armoured police van 50ft off a bridge before officers were stoned by mob”
“It is not known how many people were on board and how many people survived the fall, but disturbing images show bloodied men lying around the van moments afterwards. The dramatic pictures show the van being ambushed by dozens of people before crashing through a protective fence on the bridge. It then falls upside down and then rolls onto its roof as it lands. Blood can then be seen on the ground as nearby police officers pull injured men out of the crushed vehicle.”

She was spot on. It would be informative to hear her opinion today.
