You gotta be pretty worked-up to start the word “rain” with an “L” sound.

  4. Normally, I don’t toot my own horn here, but I’d like to share my own post here. I want answers to my questions for Pat Atkinson, Saskatchewan’s former NDP minister and frequent critic of all things conservative. In particular, she’s been after the federal food inspection agency and so-called “deregulation.” What I want to know is whether she would also support third-party regulation of Saskatchewan’s schools.

  7. In regards to that “L” sound when he says “Rain”: that’s the old Anthony Newley-thing, isn’t it? And there’s never any deep joy in my eardroves when HE starts up.
    I’ve never heard “Down Came The Rain” in my life, EBD! Where the hell do you find these cuts? If they’re coming off the top of your head, I can only describe your knowledge of popular music of the last 50 years as encyclopedic.

    I don`t understand what the dog’s owner was trying to prove. Obviously, there was a situation unfolding that demanded several police cars and officers. What was the guy doing there anyway?? And cops do have the right to destroy an animal if their safety is in danger. I blame the owner for being a total idiot! Sure wasn`t the dog’s fault!

    In keeping with the “Riding Mass Transit Is Like Inviting 20 vagrants” theme, former communist and current Vision Vancouver Councillor Geoff Meggs has proposed free transit passes for the homeless. Having gotten used to riding free illegally, he fears the homeless will be disadvantaged by new turnstiles and electronic fare passes.
    His rationale is that they won’t be able to travel from their homelessness to clinics, shelters and opportunities. So once again, it’s the productive paying for the unproductive, leaving me to wonder where both responsibility for others and irresponsibility towards others begins and ends.
    Oh yeah, this will REALLY encourage higher use of mass transit.
