Reader Tips

In tonight’s amusement en route to the Tips, a scene from the 1964 Austrian film “Unsere tollen Tanten in der Südsee”, German actress/singer Trude Herr, in character as the zestful Aglaia Schultz, goes to energetic lengths to ensure that no one feels completely excluded from her Hula Twist.

    I guess the train bomber missed that part.

  2. This seems odd. The Globe and Mail have just put up a story about a memorial service in Boston at the site of the bombing. A good article,IMHO,until you get to the bottom. The reporter found a woman who wonders;
    “In a way, I feel so sorrowful about what happened with these two boys,” she said. “What led them to do this? What came over them?”
    This fits well with the Justin idiocy.Shameful. Then I thought ‘what are the chances of finding a sympathetic figure at this spot?’. Highly unlikely. So,I checked the name out,’Joanne Klys’. Now,what are the chances of finding a sympathetic woman who also works at Harvard in the Human Resources department,which happens to be where former Liberal leader Ignatieff was just re-hired,who(Iggy) also wrote an article a few days ago for the G&M ?
    Could all be coincidence,it could even be a different Joanne Klys, or it could be the usual nonsense from the media.

    This was Boston. There were over 100 searches like this in a 20 block area – all illegal, no warrant, no declaration of martial law – just ‘roided-up cowboy cops totally off the leash and doing what they want with no repercussions, bet they were fantasizing this Boston residential area was trial run for gun confiscation. There should be a mass lawsuit for this unforgivable constitutional abomination.

    Winnipeg man charged after pointing BB gun, paintball pistol at public

    http://www.cbc.ca/news/canada/manitoba/story/2013/04/21/man-gun-charges-winnipeg.html
    A 28-year-old man is facing several weapons chargesafter reports of a man with a gun. A police helicopter, the canine unit and dozens of tactical support team officers swarmed the area. The suspect was tracked from the police helicopter, which led officers to the 600 block of Sheppard Street. Several people into custody from that address. Police seized a BB gun and a paintball pistol. A Winnipeg man is facing several charges including pointing a fire arm, possession of a weapon for dangerous purpose and possession of a firearm.
    Military take down, no warrant, Obscene over reaction and abusive force and criminal charges for – a paint ball gun which is unregulated and outside the purview of the firearms act. THIS is what goes on daily because Harper refuses to decriminalize the non criminal possession of unrestricted sporting firearms. He has been told again and again by the party who changed the policy to decriminalize non criminal possession of unrestricted firearm but even with a majority he only goes half way to erasing this abominable police state injustice. I think he likes it this way. I think he has always been a globalist authoritarian in a Libertarian wrapper.

    “Germany To Open Six More Coal Power Stations In 2013”
    “RWE’s new lignite power station opened in Neurath in 2012
    Germany’s dash for coal continues apace. Following on the opening of two new coal power stations in 2012, six more are due to open this year, with a combined capacity of 5800MW, enough to provide 7% of Germany’s electricity needs.
    Including the plants coming on stream this year, there are 12 coal fired stations due to open by 2020. Along with the two opened last year in Neurath and Boxberg, they will be capable of supplying 19% of the country’s power.
    In addition, 27 gas fired stations are due on line, which should contribute a further 17% of Germany’s total electricity generation. (Based on 2011 statistics, total generation was 575 TwH).”
