Why this blog?
Until this moment I have been forced to listen while media and politicians alike have told me "what Canadians think". In all that time they never once asked.
This is just the voice of an ordinary Canadian yelling back at the radio -
"You don't speak for me."

They should also use some clips of him clearly acting (very badly). Ezra Levant’s run one of him doing a bad job of acting angry in the House foyer.
Priceless. Hand that boy a microphone, cue the red light on the front of the video, and watch for pure gold…
“Quebecers are better than the rest of Canada”
Did I read here some time ago that Shiny’s brother is a consultant or advisor to
Kim Ding Dong Un, of the famed ding dongs of N. Korea?
If so that can’t be good for someone trying to be PM of this free country(?).
Maybe it was posted as a joke.
HahahahahaHA! Can you imagine what the U.S. press or the ‘Pubs could dig up on the Kenyan if they put just a little effort into the task?
Love these ads. They’re very good. The good folks at the Globe comment section are working themselves into a howling, maniacal frenzy. Wouldn’t be surprised if they mutated into a pack of Dark seekers and swarmed CPC Central. Music to me ears.
Seems the CPC has deprived them of their post convention sugar fix – the morning right after – gotta love it! Great strategy back room CPC guys, me hat is off to you.
‘Love the fairy dust at the end of the ad.
Junior Trudeau doesn’t have anything that it takes to be PM of Canada. A wife and two kids plus shiny hair don’t cut it. The Librano$ are a joke, having voted for the least qualified candidate as their “leader.”
Give me a break. Justin as the leader of a political party is an insult to all Canadians.
These are just what the doctor ordered to fire up the Tory faithful. But…
Mulroney is right you guys –we can’t afford to take him lightly. Write a cheque to the Tories. Write a letter to your closest sitting Tory MP and tell him/her to demand party discipline. Demand the party run the 2015 election campaign like the 2006 one: a policy a day, and policies the populace can get behind. Talk to a young person in your life (don’t lecture) that doesn’t know anything about politics and explain why interest rates moving 2% could mean them losing their home, being forced to downsize, or not being able to get into the market in the first place. Stress why boring (ie Harper) is good when it comes to politics. This fall, point out that Harper’s hockey book has raised x thousands of dollars for charity, but Trudeau takes money from charities in speaking fees. We have to be disciplined ourselves if we want to beat him, not just today but for the rest of his career.
Someone can make a fortune with Trudeau Chucklehead dolls.
Yeah the pink background and the fairy dust. Makes for a great ad.
Look for more – reminding voters of his commie oppressor godfather ‘papa castro’. And how about his advisor bro? He should make for some good one liners.
I suspect as we get closer to the election these sample ads will only be released at a frequency that keeps jr. in front of tv cameras trying to explain (apologize) what it is exactly that he meant.
The ads are fun for now but it is important that conservatives keep their eye on the ball. It’s better to win the war than win the argument.
It’s unfortunate that this ad uses the ‘Quebecers are better than the rest of Canada’ quote and dishonestly suggesting that he was himself claiming this to be true, when in fact he was referring to what his father would tell them. It’s just stupid, because a supporter can easily defend Trudeau by pointing this out.
What’s wrong with telling it straight? Why not use the whole quote. “His philosophy, certainly as he passed it on to us, has always been, ya know, Quebecers are better than the rest of Canada because, ya know, we’re Quebecers or whatever,” referring to the fact that he was raised to think that way?
It should be pretty easy to find real Trudeau gaffes. If you stoop to lying about him to discredit him then objective observers get the impression that you are lying for a reason.
Mike, why not link the full quote?
Here’s the ctv clip that they got the footage from. http://video.theloop.ca/news/watch/trudeaus-quebec-comment-in-context/2302643504001/#.UWxxJYy9KSM
Mike, I watched the link you reference and I’m not really sure how it helps him in the least. My view is that it makes matters worse. The clip in the Conservative ad at least makes it possible for Justin, in his own right, to stand or fall on his own statement — in fact, I think the Conservatives were much more kind to him than they needed to be on that score.
Unfortunately, the contextualized video again presents us with the basic conundrum, to wit:
“Justin Trudeau: himself or his father?”
I didn’t hear him say at any point, “I think my father was wrong on this point.” I only heard him say that his father had passed this viewpoint on to his children. And as the evident sentiment among Liberals is that this is the second coming, it’s up to them (Justin and the Liberals) to clarify their position. Not to mention, there last evening, before our very eyes, was the paternal grandmother of his children, all agog.
It will not fly for them to accuse us of picking on him, or any other such obfuscation or fluff: if he’s not his father, who is he?
For my part, I have had more than my fill of the Liberals having it both ways, all the time — and thinking they have the moral and intellectual superiority to do so.
“His philosophy, certainly as he passed it on to us, has always been, ya know, Quebecers are better than the rest of Canada because, ya know, we’re Quebecers or whatever,”
This is not a quote that can be taken out of context when you consider the fact that he himself acknowledges that his father believed this and passed on to his children. Why else would he even be mentioning it in such glowing terms if he wasn’t in full agreement? Now you take what he said much, much more recently about Alberta, partner it with this, and what do you have? Not something that is taken out of context, but a narrative about what Justin really believes. Liberal supporters can yell and bleat about “out of context” all the live long day, but it won’t change that very salient fact.
Great ad!
What I don’t understand is how on earth can YouTube claim the video has only had 301 views? The video is being reported all over the place, and yet only 301 views? I swear the left-wing pinkos at Google fudge the numbers for videos that don’t fit their leftist view of the world.
Gee, if I thought he’d really make Quebec a country, I’d vote for him.
He’s got at least one good idea.
This smacks of desperation. I am a conservative, so called. Not a conservative that favours record debt though, like Harper has racked up. The conservatives better be careful. This ad is almost smirk-like in its dismissive tone. Maybe I will not vote liberal in the next election (I never will) but what Harper has to fear is that I and many conservatives like me might not vote at all. It is what did Tim Hudak in.
“Canada isn’t doing well right now because it’s Albertans who control our community and socio-democratic agenda. It doesn’t work.”[…] “Certainly when we look at the great prime ministers of the 20th Century, those that really stood the test of time, they were MPs from Quebec. This country — Canada — it belongs to us.”
Watch this in an upcoming ad. You know it is coming.
It is surreal to see a political party, promote a completely and thoroughly unqualified individual, to think he could be the CEO of a country.
When Trudeau fails, who is next for the Liberals? Justin Bieber? Avril? Sidney Crosby?
What’s more amazing is the low information voter who thinks Justina has the right lisp, err life experience to have a clue.
I’m sure many of us here posting on this board are smart individuals, we have a lot going on in our lives, and have accomplished more, much more than our lovely spawn of PET.
Anyone here think they can run a country? And this ponce, this trust FUnd Babay thinks he was the experience to give er a go? Sheesh, what an arrogant yob JT is.
David, exactly. I have a Liberal friend who looks perplexed if I mention this, as he feels that whatever the Liberal values of the day are, are the values of all Canadians, and Stephen Harper forming the government is a irrational aberration of Canadians.
As some others have warned, we should not underestimate the stupidity of the Canadian voter to vote for a nice looking empty suit.
I remember Pony’s communist father.
‘Nuff said.
This is hilarious!!! Certainly not Academy Award material but maybe whatever crappy Quebec actors award themeselves. You really must see this one!!

Quebec has been Canada’s millstone around our necks since Confederation. It would be interesting to see how many folks in the ROC would vote to boot them out.
They give absolutely nothing to Canada. Even taxes are withheld let alone outrages when their vote is worth more than the Rest of Canada . When their population is shrinking.
Lets not even talk about Equalization payments. Let them be their own Nation if they never bother us again I say.
Didn’t jr. address some terrorist group? Gave some ‘after dinner address’ or something recently. Kinda like paul martian did with the tamils.
Wait till the vid of that one makes it to Y-tube
Trudeau’s gaffes and his inability to hold his own in any debate, discussion or argument go without saying. That people would wish to resurrect the ruinous administration of his father through him should be one of the biggest red flags of them all. How would Trudeau fils handle North Korea or the Muslim Brotherhood? What does it say about a man who takes money from charities or not-for-profit groups? Worse yet, what does it say about an electorate who likes his hair better than his style of governance?
Well, Ken, I read something somewhere on this particular award-winning weblog, written by you, that your family managed to get to Canada from “Riga” (which, I assume means Riga, Latvia). I’m pretty much certain, on that basis, that you have read the “The Odessa File”, or some such related 1970s novel, which would almost certainly have had the same effect on you as it had on me.
Here is, in as direct a way that I can possibly say it: until the age of Mr. Trudeau, Sr., when this country’s commitment weakened considerably, our position, including the position of Mr. Ignatieff’s uncle (I believe) was that the Baltic states were not legally part of the Soviet Union. Mr. Trudeau, Sr.’s position was substantially overturned by none other than Mrs. Thatcher, Mr. Reagan and Mr. Mulroney. In short, the defence of the Baltic states was a Canadian value, until the time of Mr. Trudeau, Sr.
So, what I need to know from Mr. Trudeau, Jr., among other things, is: are you your own man, or are you your father? And I need to know that in very concrete terms.
In response to the critics of this advert, I would like to point out that there was great hilarity on their part when a wanna be punk rocker/parttime lawyer/chretien sycophant made jest of a certain party leaders faith with the use of a Barny doll. Not one bit of those statements about Stock where relevant or true, but the media ran with it.
This just as with previous CPC ads are their opponent in his own words.
Pointed this out before, but it needs to be repeated.
When Trudeau sr ran, there was no internet, no talk radio, and we had one national network that was in the pocket of the liberal party. In those days, liberal leaders could expound freely to the crowd gathered without concern that their statements would be reported unedited.
In the current climate, someone like PET, would never get past the back bench of a third place party. His son, his party, has yet to grasp that a paradigm shift occurred in the 90’s from the laurentian elites to the west.
It’s a by product of the liberal policies enacted to prevent such a shift…….karma can be such a botch.
He can win. Anything is possible. So, to all you loud mouths who ridicule him, get active and make a contribution, either financially or by effort. Shut him down, do something, or shut up.
Yes by all means lets make Quebec a country, and we will use the map of 1763, which shows what Quebec actually consisted off when she was conquered by the Father of Canada Gen. James Wolfe. A strip of land along the north shore of the St. Lawrence River. Tabernac. http://www.collectionscanada.gc.ca/confederation/023001-5002-e.html
David, actually my family crossed the Russian border by rail at Sebezh,Russia in 1926, continued by rail to Rezekne, Latvia and proceeded to the port of Libau, then to Southampton, to Montreal, and finally to Winnipeg. No free lunches from the Canadian government either.
Yes, I did read the Odessa File many years ago.
Mr. Trudeau Sr., being sympathetic to the Soviet Union would have been unsympathetic to any freedom aspirations of the Baltic states. Considering the little we have heard from Justin, I would expect that he would be sympathetic to any and all leftist regimes.
I am deeply concerned about the thought process of Canadian citizens that they would even vote for a man like this. The glitz blinds.
“What I don’t understand is how on earth can YouTube claim the video has only had 301 views?”
I wondered about that myself. But then I’ve often noticed videos that represent conservative values or viewpoints appear to be ‘under viewed’ despite being widely discussed on not only conservative, but occasionally, left leaning blogs.
Note to that ‘comments are disabled for this video’. That too, happens frequently when conservatives might wish to reinforce the points of view within a video.

SDA gets results!
Mike Backadder — ads such as these are designed for emotional impact . . . not an objective presentation of facts. Harper’s “firewall” statement is a similar thing. The words of a politician are taken out of context all the time.
Even though this ad campaign is very slick, and very true, and aimed at the electorates intellect, it will backlash – the Pony’s following are the Laurentian elite and the nation’s street zombies who have never recovered from an MSM lobotomy.
The ad will do exactly what it was designed to do, set a narrative. This is made possible because of two facts, one that every long time liberal wants to see PET reborn vicariously though Justin, and secondly Justin and his team have not adequately defined him and left him a blank slate to be defined by his opponents.
The narrative coming is that of the typical beta male found in the up scale urban zones of the MTV.
Let me put it this way, once you get outside of the down town of TO, the average GTA voter is more impressed with someone like Mike Holmes that can reno a kitchen, than some guy that uses his last name to command huge speaking fees.
“…the average GTA voter is more impressed with someone like Mike Holmes that can reno a kitchen, than some guy that uses his last name to command huge speaking fees…”
But Holmes ain’t running for PM – The Tit is. And while some ladies might be impressed with Homes, most of them think that The TiT is absolutely dreamy.
Three Words:

Don’t underestimate pop-star politics……

Concur with the comment about what some women think about the beta male.
As to the effectiveness of the ad?
It seems that rather than return fire the only response coming from the liberals is “that’s not fair, you hit our poster boy”.
Era Levant does the numbers regarding JT’s landslide. Must watch.
