Robert Bork died on the 19th. I didn’t know.

Maybe by Apocalypse the Mayans meant a bunch of moonbats were gonna thrash their stuff… http://www.france24.com/en/20121223-mayan-temple-damaged-tourist-apocalypse-frenzy
How is that hunger strike by the incompetent chief Spence going? 12 days. She had quite a bit of excess body to begin with. Saw she was drinking fish broth and various medicines prepared for her. I take that as her on a soup diet.

EBD, a very Merry Christmas to you and yours, and to all and theirs who contribute to SDA. Your posts have been particularly moving of late, and I have appreciated them all. I noted your posting the other day, beyond Mike Rutherford’s “The Living Years”, of the particular rendition of the Childrens’ Pageant from St. Paul’s, Auckland NZ (a great Anglican Christmas tradition, in all of our parishes worldwide), and of (of course) the excerpt from Handel’s Messiah.
My favorite Christmas Carol sung by a most wonderful new singer.

Prediction by Environment Canada’s senior climatologist David Phillips on Dec 17, 2012.
“Waking up to a winter wonderland on Christmas Day will be more of a dream than reality for many parts of the country, cautions Canada’s top weather man. But the reality is that only about a quarter of the population will have that wish come true.”
http://www.cbc.ca/news/canada/story/2012/12/17/weather-christmas-holidays-green-forecast-environment-canada.html
Let’s see how he did:

Unless a three quarters of the population live in northern Nova Scotia or parts of southern Ontario — not very good!
He then goes on with his climate stick: “Phillips says this year, even if you do get a wintry holiday, it is more likely to be a light dusting than a big dump come Christmas Day.” Humm the Soo set a record on Friday with a dusting of 38.7 cm.
The storm that Ontario and Quebec got was already predicted by the models when he made his prediction. BTW there is another storm coming for Ontario:

A superb post by The Black Rod on #idlenomore:
“The aboriginal signatories of the Treaties did “cede, release, surrender and yield up”—forever — all –the lands described.”
http://blackrod.blogspot.ca/2012/12/were-all-treaty-people-right.html
Ah, but Neil Edmondson, one clearly cannot expect aboriginals to understand the words of the treaties they signed, can one? After all, are they not Canada’s version of our chimps from South of the Border? Besides, in the finest tradition of the US “Legal” system, those words can be reinterpreted in MANY ways, as our jurists do when the Constitution does not suit their intents. I won’t bother to go on about how “Law Enforcement” will grovel before them, regardless of how blatant a lie that interpretation may be. I expect THAT will be resolved during the upcoming festivities, when said “Law Enforcement” go forward to confiscate “assault weapons” as deemed by their Masters.
There are some good articles, Black Mamba, on Judge Bork over at PJ Media:

RIP, Robert Bork.
I enjoyed this article by Monte Solberg this morning.
“Christmas isn’t organized by governments or centrally planned by bureaucrats. Its central message annoys most progressives.
To the chagrin of many, including some conservatives, it spurs an orgy of free-market consumption.
It’s pretty much the perfect holiday.
And billions of us organize ourselves around it every year, as we have done for centuries, without the aid of a single government mandarin.”

Merry Christmas and Happy Subversive Day!
I like the new website.
The larger print is much easier on my tired eyes, and it works better on my mobile phone too.
I can’t say enough hateful things about Captcha, but if you are getting lots of roboposts, then it is understandable. At least this captcha has numbers and letters I can actually read. If you’re not getting roboposts, you can probably do your readers a favor and remove it if you can.
The Reply To feature is nice, but I can see the potential for problems. On other sites, the depth of the threads are limited, so that constrains the problem.
Nothing profound to say except I would like to wish Kate and the rest of the posse(?) a Merry Christmas. God bless, eh.
btw, Like the new web site.
EBD, I would like to echo David Southam’s comment, as I also greatly appreciate the Christmas carols you have been playing.
BTW David, Conrad Black has it right. As well,I have no doubt you know that it is our common Christian traditions throughout the twenty centuries, complete with some bad bumps along the way at various times, that has made the western nations generally more caring in helping those less fortunate at home and abroad and more successful in many economic ventures that have life more bearable for people around the world.
Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year to all.
