  1. HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!
THIS is why they should be teaching financial and economic literacy in schools…….oh, wait……THEY ARE THE SCHOOLS!

  2. Maybe allison REDFRAUD can take a hint from this fiasco as her and her little minions seem to think going into debt now to pay for future infrastructure is a smart thing to do…what a pinhead!! and her econmist pinhead seems to think it is a good idea as well!! buncha idiots!!

  3. Paul, there would be no deficit in Alberta if we were not giving 9 billion to the 230 billion in debt Quebec. Spending on infrastructure is keeping the money in Alberta the only way we can, just wait till the 330 billion in debt Ontario and the 230 billion in debt Quebec start pushing the feds to bail them out. Who will they look to then?

  4. If a school wants to teach and endorse socialism, they must also walk the walk. And it is apparent that they have.
I doubt this could ever happen to a home school 🙂

  5. Wishing for a state to be wiped off the map… where have I heard that before? You stay classy SDA!

  6. Bartinsky the amount of money given to other provinces is NOT the cause of Alberta’a financial woes. In all seriousness do you honestly believe the extra nine billion would go to NEEDED projects and not just be squandered by Alison ‘Fraud and her incompetent collection of twits? The Alison ‘Fraud has more than enough money to complete the task at hand she is simply choosing to spend more money than she takes in to feather her nest. Giving her more money would be like giving an alcoholic more booze.
As for the Payday Loan Scheme the Califoricated school boards got themselves into. Bwahahahahahahaha!

  7. If it indoctrinates just one illegal alien child in diversity politics and Obamanomics, it was worth it!

  8. take some lefties, throw in some money and add lefty math, and boom, you have one big financial disASSter

  9. “…I doubt this could ever happen to a home school :)”

Not on that scale, Knacker, but there are households that make the same mistake (and the voters in them tend to support Obama types.) They are unlikely to be the ones that choose home schooling, but it could happen.
It reminds me of the argument the City of Saskatoon makes for spending many millions on a new art gallery to replace rather than refurbish the Mendel: the feds will kick in all these millions for a new one while we’d have to pay for the old one all on our own. So it’s o.k. because most of the money is coming from taxpayers in the rest of Canada who will never visit our new gallery and who effectively have no say in giving Saskatoon their money.

  10. Nobody pays any attention to school board elections and dickheads are elected to manage $millions and $billions. It’s always the same spineless creatures that let the socialist administration run the show.

  11. It’s good to see edumacated people make financial decisions, because as we all know, math is hard. Oh wait…..

  12. Redford thinks we are all stupid here in Alberta. After the last election, it appears she was right. Expect more of the same… lies, theft and waste. It is what the majority of Albertans wanted, same as the good old USA. Just wait until oil hits thirty bucks again. Oh and by the way, that pipeline to the coast… Forgetaboutit.

  13. Math is hard and it’ll get even harder as California’s population shrinks. All those empty schools and idle real estate won’t do much to pay the debt.

  14. Stupidity abounds. In the first instance cited: “In 2010, officials at the West Contra Costa School District, just east of San Francisco, were in a bind. The district needed $2.5 million to help secure a federally subsidized $25 million loan to build a badly needed elementary school.
Charles Ramsey, president of the school board, says he needed that $2.5 million upfront, but the district didn’t have it.”, there was a dead-simple answer staring them in the face. Borrow the 2.5 million on a short-term note, thereby securing the federally-subsidized loan, then trim about 3 million off the cost of the 25 million school, and pay off the short-term loan. So you wind up with a much plainer, but still adequate school, and a whole lot less debt.

  15. Fill, little Troll, If I got any free money let alone 500 million a year, I would not be trying to bring common sense to a moron, I would be in Hawaii. There are no subsidies, payouts or any free money on this place, only hard work and bills to take care of. In 1988 we got .87 cents a pound for calves and a thermostat for a waterer was 9.95, now we get 1.41 cents a pound and that same thermostat is now 54.95 I know that math is hard for some but is is real.

  16. Interestingly, I learned about interest, simple and compound, in junior high school in Alberta, back in the 1950s. The course material
(grade 7, now that I think about it) was simple and straightforward, and clear in its implications.
Anyway, it takes no great wit nor learning to understand life’s first lesson: there is no such thing as free money.
I guess that segment of the curriculum must have been dropped when the Rat Queen went through.

  17. “In the West Contra Costa Schools’ case, that $2.5 million bond will cost the district a whopping $34 million to repay.”
Who is the school board borrowing from – Tony Soprano?

  18. The Liberal left always in cahoots with the Bankesters looting the American middle class in the “Too big to fail” Ponzi schemes.
    “a state wide problem”?
Wait until Obamba bails out the state and the subsequent loans with Federal tax dollars, then everyone’s happy – well not those other state taxpayers that funded the fraud of course.

  19. phil >
I’ll give a farmer an extra $10 bucks to grow me food any day before I’ll give a pothead a $1.00 to get high on.

  20. phil, thanks for saying that in a clear and polite way. I agree that the government should quit programs and subsidies and reduce taxes and regulation.
Schools could be regulated to limit borrowing, but the government getting out of the education business (except maybe providing vouchers) would allow poorly run schools to fail and disappear.

  21. I’m not a banker or anything but how the hell does this even happen?
    External review now.
Aw, screw it. Just put a fence around California and walk away.
    Phil, grow up.

  22. Ontariowe and Paybec don’t have an exclusive when it comes to muppet voters – we have them here in Alberta – many are refugees from economically mismanaged provinces and bringing their socialist ways with them. And then they get into government.
