Reader Tips

Tonight, straight from the Unionized Bureaucrat Lounge in the bowels of progressive hell, we inflict upon you a perfect storm of polyester-and-patchouli-scented gynergy.
Because the results of the recent US election didn’t visit quite enough suffering upon you.
The comments are open, as always, for your Reader Tips.

  1. Shamelessly filched from American Digest’s Sidelines, this excerpt from Sal Traina’s A Real Threat To America:

Suicide bombers don’t care about the effects of their actions on others. They believe that their awful actions will be rewarded afterwards by their almighty ruler, Allah. They believe they will be taken to paradise. They are taught from a very young age that Americans are the real evil in the world, and that to kill them is a noble and Godly act.
In the United States, we have suicide voters. These radical progressives and liberals don’t care about the effects of their actions on others. They believe their almighty ruler, government, will reward them with a utopian society that cares for them from cradle to grave. These domestic terrorists are indoctrinated in our public schools from a young age to believe that Americans are the real evil in the world, and their greed must be avenged with social justice policies that redistribute their wealth.

The fact is, liberalism isn’t really an objective. Conservatism might be an objective, but liberalism is merely a direction. Dog chasing the car. It doesn’t really know where it’s going, nor does it care.

  2. As the world keeps turning, yet another largely-unknown hero goes down:

The mayor (of Tiquicheo, Mexico) who was kidnapped and murdered by a Mexican drug gang pleaded with her attackers for her young daughter’s life, it emerged today. Maria Santos Gorrostieta, who had already survived two assassination attempts, was driving the child to school at around 8.30am when she was ambushed by a car in the city of Morelia.
The 36-year-old was hauled from her vehicle and physically assaulted as horrified witnesses watched, according to newspaper El Universal. They described how she begged for her child to be left alone and then appeared to get into her abductors’ car willingly.
The little girl was left wailing as her mother was driven away on Monday November 12. For the next week, her frantic family waited by the phone for a ransom call that never came. Gorrostieta’s body – stabbed, burned, battered and bound at wrist and ankle – would finally be found eight days on dumped by a roadside in San Juan Tararameo, Cuitzeo Township.

After the second of two previous assassination attempts, the first of which resulted in her husband’s death, and the last of which left her in great pain and wearing a colostomy bag, Mayor Gorrostieta had said –

“Freedom brings with it responsibilities and I don’t dare fall behind. My long road is not yet finished – the footprint that we leave behind in our country depends on the battle that we lose and the loyalty we put into it.”

  3. Hey, it’s not all doom and gloom, some sectors of the US economy are doing very well.

Black Friday gun sales hit an all time record high last week with demand for new firearms so overwhelming that it caused outages at the FBI background check center on two separate occasions.

  4. Apropos to EBD…
Nobody made a greater mistake than he who did nothing because he could do only a little.

I have been a frequenter of SDA since before the Libranos became famous, pre-2004 maybe as far back as 2002 when I had dial-up in Blackfalds AB. The Shotgun Blog got me here. Our greatest shortcomings as Conservatives is letting “them” define us. I never quite understood what it was that I felt within in me in regards to how I should conduct myself or how I went about my day to day business. Then one day Kate had a post about her baby mobile being a shade of Boeckter Blue
    Heh.
So the next time you pussies get all puckered up cause we lost a battle (Obama, Rod Ford and there will be others) and want to give up and listen to gnomes like David Frum tell you what “Conservatives need to do” to get elected, ask yourselves instead “What can I do?” The 6″ in front of your face is what you can do. Stop failing to riot. Don’t give them an inch, start clawing and gnawing back. F$%K them, but be polite, we are Canadians after all, eh!
Boeckter, Burke, Reagan, Thatcher those peeps were real conservatives.

  5. In Toronto a man has been charged with “pretending to practise witchcraft” under section 365 of the Criminal Code of Canada.

It is important to note that it’s only an offense if:
“A person does not actually engage in some Wiccan practice, but only
    pretends to do so.”
So, if you’ve got a few workable spells under your belt, it’s cool.

  6. @ EBD at November 27, 2012 10:13 PM
Maria was a incredibly strong woman and proof that the war on drugs in mexico has gone horribly wrong. When only the Law and the gangs have access to weapons, all the average law abiding Mexican citizen can do is cower in fear and try to stay invisible. If some of those “horrified bystanders” were armed she might still be alive today. Sad when a government fears its own people more than the gangs that are destroying the country.

  7. Should add that they could eliminate the whole gang problem by using the Swiss model. 2 years mandatory military service for every able bodied male and every household is armed. Very few problems with drugs or crime.

  8. ok i, ” people need to forget about religion difference”
When do you figure the Muslims will be teaching their children not to hate Jews?

  9. Paul, good for Jake. He is talking the talk, but will he walk the walk?

  10. Glenn, thanks for that at 11:47. Boetcker’s Ten Cannots are a saver for my freedom file.
Paul, I heard that and as wallyj says, hopefully he can walk through the fire on this.

  11. I think we should all take up a collection to send i/so/new or whatever to the Middle East to take care of these conflicts once and for all. It appears he/she/it has all the answers. Perhaps he/she/it will allow Hillary to tag along.

The torrential rain which has deluged the country for the last week is expected to ease at last but the clearer skies, coupled with northerly winds, will send the mercury plummeting and some forecasters are predicting that the temperature could fall to as low as minus 20°C.”

  15. “Canadian PM Harper, heir apparent to the free world, stands up for freedom, personally intervened to stop ‘Palestinian’ terror statehood bid at UN”
“Canadian Prime Minister Stephen Harper continues to pick up the slack left by an absent American president who has abandoned freedom across the world.
Nothing makes Obama look so small as a real leader.
“[W]hen Israel, the only country in the world whose very existence is under attack, is consistently and conspicuously singled out for condemnation, I believe we are morally obligated to take a stand,” Harper said last year.
The Canadian prime minister further affirmed that “as long as I am prime minister… Canada will take not that stand, whatever the cost.”
“Canadian PM Personally Intervened to Stop PA Statehood Bid at UN” INN, November 27, 2012
Canadian Prime Minister Stephen Harper personally intervened to pressure PA Chairman Abbas to drop his bid for upgraded status at the UN.
Canadian Prime Minister Stephen Harper personally intervened to pressure Palestinian Authority Chairman Mahmoud Abbas to drop his bid for upgraded status at the United Nations.
Harper, who had been in New York to accept an award and attend the opening of a new session of the United Nations at the end of September, had “a short, brusque meeting with [Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud] Abbas,” the Globe and Mail newspaper reported.
“In a little room at the United Nations, Mr. Harper skipped most of the pleasantries in a 15-minute meeting, according to sources briefed on the session, and told Mr. Abbas he had come to deliver a message: If you keep doing what you’re doing, he said – referring to the Palestinian bid for upgraded status – ‘there will be consequences,'” the newspaper reported.
“It was just one part of the bare-knuckle approach Canada has taken toward the U.N. bid, though largely out of public view,” according to the newspaper.”

  16. And John Baird just said today, and very vociferously I might add, that Canada has NO intention of supporting the Palestinian Authority’s
    petition to become a state.
God bless Baird, Harper and The Dominion of Canada!

  17. Related to the ousting of Mayor Ford;
” Last year, Chow claimed $530,000 in expenses, Layton claimed $629,000. Both are above average and a little surprising given that both represent Toronto ridings.”
    http://fullcomment.nationalpost.com/2010/11/09/lorne-gunter-duke-layton-and-duchess-chow-at-least-owe-us-transparency/
Toronto should be careful of what they wish for,but it probably would not matter to the lefties, they do like to honour their idols.
Jack and Chow travelled together and quite likely dined together more than any other two MP’s. How did they manage to BOTH place in the top 5 for expenses consistently?
Maybe an enterprising Toronto citizen should take a closer look at their expenses. Not for revenge,oh no,but just to level the playing field before the next election.
