5. The bridges DO work for the critters, mostly elk.
   In Banff there are fences that keep them off the road for the most part and the bridges become the path of least resistance for moving from area to area.
   The system cuts down on a lot of road kill. BTW … you ever seen an elk or other large animal buried in the engine compartment of a truck after going through the rad and the rest? If you nail an elk with your car or SUV or pickup …. you are dead meat.
   The downside is there are a LOT more elk in town.
