  1. Kate,
Thanks for this. It’s kind of the perfect summary of why we have 4-legged friends share our homes with us, which I’ve been giving a lot of thought to recently 😉
ps – I may have a line on a “new” cat; hopefully the on-line listing from the animal shelter is current…

  2. Well that pretty much describes my golden retriever. With the exception of the more expensive items he has ruined, including 7 pairs of glasses that he chewed up ($400 each until the optometrist started giving me a volume discount), the rather pricey berber carpet in our family room, a couple of TV remotes, the hot tub cover and a few other items that he has managed to chew into oblivion. Through his efforts, he made himself into a $10,000 dog.
    But I love him.

  3. Don’t fall for the sissy dogs with the cute little bows in their hair prancing on their hind legs or that lunker of a lazy porch hound who seems content to just lay there all day. Given the chance, either would kill you, eat you, poop/puke you out and repeat the process as the story board showed.
    All dogs go to hell.
Cats, on the other hand, don’t give a crap what you think of them. They don’t need to be validated by their owners.
Actually cats don’t have owners; dogs do, Cats have staff.

  4. That guy hasn’t been around animals that much, especially real dogs – and he has waaaaay too much time on his hands.

Yeah I have to much time on my hands…but that is a feature of retirement.
    I concur…but then I named my meat-grinder…SATAN….and his hearing is light-years better than mine….
I harbour a cat….outside…a policy enforced by the dog. As long as the cat stays outa the house, the dog tolerates the cat…and functions well as the cat’s Praetorian versus other cats….dogs…squirrels…
No poop issues, but smudged windows, from him knawin’ on them to get at strangers…..

  6. If you have a dog on a leash in 1 hand, and a dog on a leash in the other hand, then you have a paradox.
