And who’s the idiot who left the dumpster lid open? Those cubs are seriously on their way to becoming ‘garbage bears’ with a nasty fate in store. There was a study done in and around Rossland, B C, many years ago, which concluded that garbage bears could not be rehabilitated and ended when the offending bears were killed.
I thought at first that the “three little bears” was a gag.
Leaving garbage around is really stupid and a death sentance for the bear.
Anyway over the years in a small northern BC town the bleeding hearts insisted that any bear that wandered into town be relocated.
It takes a lot of time and effort to live trap a bear.

These bears were almost always young and undersized.
Somedone came up with the idea of putting radio collars on them to see how they fared after a 100 to 200 mile relocation.
The longest one of these young bears lasted was 2 weeks.
They were putting them into prime habitat which of course was already occupied by large agressive bears.
Nature abhoring a vacum and all that.
Good news is I guess the boss bears liked the program.
It was just a “re-cycling” program all dressed as a touchy feely set the poor little bears free program.
Every damn thing out there eats some other damn thing, get over it.

The sow had three cubs this indicates a rich diet that allowed the bears body to support all three fetus’s during the denning time.Ironicly this enhanced diet probably comes from highly productive regenerating logged areas
This is causing the over population of black bears that is forcing them into urban areas,The woods are full and have reached carrying capacity.

My theory is that bears are like vikings and mongols….expanding their territory due to overpopulation/population pressure…

Really enjoyed the part where the rescuers, having done what what was necessary, simply drove away and didn’t make this rescue program mandatory or into a Dept. of Bear Rescue.

It’s just more Liberal welfare ghettoization for blacks. That’s why they also ban guns in National Parks; you never have the right to defend yourself from the mess’s they create.

My neigbour(retired RCMP) hunts black bears in northern Saskatchewan all the time.
He gets loads of extra cash by making their pelts into rugs and selling them.
There is no shortage of black bears, folks.
Yeah, somebody should lock that dumpster.
I’ve noticed the last few years that most black Bear sows have two or three cubs. On a trip last year between McBride and Prince George we spotted over twenty bears feeding along the highway. Most years you’d see two or three in that 200 km stretch of highway.
I know of only one hunter that still hunts bears,most have given up now that you have to take the meat out, too.
Like “B-B” said, everything in the bush eats everything else, nothing is wasted.

Yup, all my in-laws legally kill black bears in droves, 4 each per year. They tan the hides and then stuff them in closets never to see the light of day again.
I used to love hunting deer, moose, and elk, but never was interested in hunting bear. I like to eat what I hunt, bear is sort of like big coyote to me.
My in-laws have more or less turned me off personally hunting anything but upland game bird anymore due to their excessive annual slaughter. I’ve completely ignored those in-laws as well for over 20 years now.
Nothing against your RCMP neighbor making a little cash on the side, it’s the dumbf*cks that kill bears for the sake of killing something that piss’s me off.

Black bears are way overpopulated here in BC, even in the lower mainland where I live. Over the years I have had to kill quiet a few that became dangerous and thought they would kill and eat my livestock. Every year there are people minding their own business who are attacked and even killed. When they lose their natural fear of people, they cause problems and relocation does not work. Recusing black bears is like recusing coyotes and some do both.
