He marshals tables to show that over the years, the relative success of Asians has pushed them into socio-economic and cultural categories formerly occupied by what used to be called white people. “But we don’t have a more complex narrative to go along with it” and so rather than ditching the old story of white supremacy and guilt culture took the easier path: they made the Asians white.

I hope no one is suggesting that “whites are privileged” and that Affermative Action is a nessesity in western society like Ron Leech of the WRP did.
Ron Leech definitely belongs in the liability column.
As for affluent Asians, the effect may appear amplified in Canada due to Chinese investment. Also.. around an average Canadian campus I notice the probability that an Asian between 18-30 is driving a $60-80,000 vehicle to be ridiculously high.
Where I reside, Asians out white most of my friends, BMW wise that is.
But,,,are they racist?? Sexist?? Money grubbers vs humane???

As an aside, in apartheid S Africa this very question posed a conundrum for immigration as to whether an Asian on business was to be awarded a “honorary white status” for the duration of his visit. Or not.
It’s all relative. The Bureau of Justice Statistics used to post crime figures under two racial groups: white and non-white.
Hispanics, who have high crime rates, were “white” because, well, they are in fact caucasian.
Low crime Asians were considered “non white” and thus diluted the crime rates of blacks in the statistics. While the non-white homicide rate was reported at about eight times higher than the white homicide rate, the black murder rate was well above ten times the non-Hispanic white murder rate.
When it comes to race, people are classified as whatever the left finds convenient today. Obama is our first black president and George Zimmerman is white. Tiger Woods, who is more than half Asian, is black because, well, if he had a son with a black woman, the kid would look like Trayvon.
If Obama fails as a president, its because he didn’t go the full black.
I guess this makes Oprah white.
Martin Luther King must be spinning in his grave. “. . . not by the color of his skin, but by the content of his character . . .” It appears political correctness has moved race relations into a back eddy from which individuals of good character must make a conscious effort to escape.
Don’t forget that the Hispanic George Zimmerman became conveniently “White” when the black community felt they needed some Social Justice for a black gang-banger prowling around a “white” neighborhood.
Osama bin Laden or Kaddafi not so much.
Asian cultures like the G8 wealthy Japanese stop becoming “white, white” when they implement their no immigration ultra nationalist policies to protect their racial purity and culture to the worlds overwhelming Liberal Progressive support.
Everybody has prejudices … this does not make them either evil or stupid.
Preying on people’s prejudices on the other hand IS evil.
Allowing people to prey on on your prejudices is STUPID.
Some prejudices are well founded and do not need to be defended or justified.
I’ve been coming to know quite a few asians of Chinese and Indian descent over the last few years.
I’ve found them to be:
a) Socially conservative
b) Self reliant
c) Risk averse
d) Xenophobic …. especially about North American born people with dark skin.
The Chinese and Indian groups do not have any desire to relate and it seems to work out fine for them. Neither group as far as I have seen has any use for the lazy, the useless, the meddling or the criminal.
In terms of our North American race justified cultural structure (PeeCee Liberal Fascism) Asians are more WHITE than I am.

If I am prejudiced…that does not neccessary make me either good or bad…it merely means I have made a choice.

Prejudice generally results from discrimination…which is neither good nor evil….merely that a choice is made…

Liberal Progressives pick their racially motivated targets as the mood swings them. An anti-white platform is a perfect catchall when their brains freeze up.
They have no concept about real racism or culture beyond their local Chinese buffet. Have you ever been sitting in an “ethnic” restaurant and have them come in with their Cheshire grins and overblown euphoria? The Asians smile back pretending that their equally stupid and actually digging the special treatment from the “culturally aware white people”.
The dumbest connotation I have seen the term “white” used in is White Anglo Saxon Protestant. I defy you to show me an Anglo Saxon Protestant that is not white.
