My Mother was one of the last non-Indian school teachers there in the early 70’s. The Indians regularly were invited aboard Russian freighters which stopped at B-B illegally, and several Indians went to Russia to be propagandized.The students told Mom about this quite openly in class.
The B-B Indians were very pro-Soviet,showed Mom many souvenirs of their trips to Russia. She contacted Canadian authorities,who did not seem to be aware of what was going on. The USSR was doing, on the remote West Coast of Canada, what they did in every Country around the world at that time.
Soviet agents infiltrated Native groups in Africa,Asia, the ME and everywhere else they saw a chance to gain a foothold for their agenda of spreading the communist doctrine to the world. Until Mom’s experience in the 70’s,I had no idea they had been doing the same here.

The blatant manipulation of kids by their ‘teachers’ into joining hunger strikes to back ‘educators’ ideology is the clearest example of the malaise that has infected the teaching profession. Using their office for personal gain is unacceptable in private industry but considered par for the course in public sector jobs. A prime reason why public sector efficiency is so lackluster.
The whole dog and pony show for “input” is ridiculous at best. They already know that 99% of attendees will be against the pipeline. To save a lot of time/money it should be put to a referendum and be done with it. No big deal for Elections BC and current voters list. Just do it.
