Ethical Oil Vs Blood Banana

Now is the time at SDA when we juxtapose!
The Economist, March 31st – This may have pleased environmentalists, but it infuriated Canadians who depend on the oil industry. A pro-business lobby called EthicalOil.org is urging a boycott of Chiquita’s products that is said to be costing the company a fortune. Chiquita would not quantify its losses.
Washington Post, March 28th – Limbaugh’s recovering fortunes may be best exemplified by what hasn’t happened. At the peak of the controversy in early March, two small stations — in western Massachusetts and Hilo, Hawaii — said that they would drop his program. Since then, no other station has said it will take him off the air, dashing the hopes of MoveOn.org, a liberal group whose ongoing petition drive seeks Limbaugh’s removal from 180 stations.

  1. Love el Rushbo!
It is like the old Radio Free Europe, speaking truth to power!
No wonder the crtc forbids us mere serfs from listening to this.
    Just like the old Stasi
Of course we have the socialist state mouthpiece Neues Deutschland, uh, the cbc.

  2. Euref, I could not agree more.
I can pick up the Bellingham WA station (790 am) on a clear day and hear Rush. It is like listening to freedom.
It always makes me wonder why we Canadians are forbidden to hear Rush’s, or similar perspectives.
Of course, I know the answer. It just confirms how far down the socialist rabbit hole we have fallen.

  3. i guess if one really wanted to listen to rushbo, then do it. the crtc aint stopping you.
    what happened to death/tax certainty?
    everything else is choice….

  4. Rush Limbaugh is not banned in Canada. We are not forbidden to hear him.
Dont you check facts before posting?

  5. Rush is amazing, i listen to him everyday, just get the tune in radio app and listen to him that way on any radio station that plays him. And if you get the paid version, you can record it and listen to later kind of like a pvr!

  6. WJR 780Khz out of Detroit for those of you in Southwestern Ontario. 12 noon to 3:00PM

  7. The Economist article is very good news. It’s a sign that finally after all these years, Greemail doesn’t work. If you lick the fingers of the Green slime you get punished for it.
If this becomes a true trend, it will hurt the Greenslime far more than any changes to environmental assessment acts. This will mean that they are finally impotent in boardrooms as well.
    “Faster, pussycat, kill, kill.”

  8. Lefties aren’t very good at boycotts… it can affect them personally and they don’t do well by depriving themselves. They are much better at simple things, like clicking internet links and complaining about funny phone calls.

  9. “A pro-business lobby called EthicalOil.org is urging a boycott of Chiquita’s products that is said to be costing the company a fortune. ”
Right on. The boycott is working and thanks to Ezra Levant and company.

  10. It truly boggles the mind when I read people praising Rush. Don’t get me wrong, I am a fiscal conservative but Rush is a very hateful little man (well not physically) who makes millions spreading fear and hate. Just my opinion.

  11. Their are two side to this oil sands debate, the green camouflaged radical left and the decent society they have sworn to destroy by denying it energy and prosperity.
Keep up the Chiquita boycott, because they have chosen to help the other side.

  12. Rush Limbaugh is a nation treasure.
It’ is Rush and his ability to marshal the facts, couple them with a stellar entertaining delivery, and speak directly to the heart of each issue which is ignored, distorted, and/or obfuscated by the MSM that has made him such a popular and saleable commodity.
May God bless you Rush Limbaugh, and may your sponsors look to their best capitalist interests when the commies besiege you.

  13. In somewhat related media news, Al Gore’s “Current” channel has fired Keith Olbermann, citing “breaches of contract”, such as numerous unauthorized absences. Olbermann is threatening lawsuits in return.
In a move questioned by many unpaid pundits (i.e., me), Channel will replace Olbermann with ethical paragon and disgraced ex-politician Elliot Swizzlestick. One sincerely hopes that Channel will become another of Gore’s successful investments, such as his carbon-trading fias..er, firm.

I don’t listen to Rush but have in the past a bit. I found him to be disingenuous with the facts sometimes. I thoroughly enjoy him holding the left’s feet to the fire though.
He’s loud, pompous and grating sometimes and I can’t blame anyone for not liking him. I don’t blame anyone for liking him.
Conservatives aren’t like hippies or goths. Our political views don’t mandate what our entertainment tastes should be.

  15. couldn’t stand listen to the Rash Limburger, but agree with most of wot he says, just don’t like his delivery
I did support his calling that cow a sl*t tho:-)))

  16. So here’s the funny part! One of the sponsers that fled Rush’s show was Carbonite an online backup service. According to the company business plan it needs a strong ‘personality based’ advertising association to increase it’s market share.
So who have they teamed up with now that they’ve abandoned potty-mouth Rush? Why Howard Stern of Sirius Satellite Radio of course!!! I heard their commercials last week.
Incidently, salt of the earth Carbonite “reviews on Amazon were a subject of controversy in early 2009. Apparently, employees of the company posted favorable testimonial-style ads on Amazon in 2006, including those by senior members of the management team… Additionally, the New York Times reported that the CEO was made aware of the situation in September 2008 but did nothing to remove the false postings until the NY Times blog appeared in January 2009” wikipedia
    Ethics whassssssssss dat?

  17. Call this a Friday Feel Good post ……….. Ever since Rush began his “Lies that liberals tell you” series of commentaries …. way back in the early days …. I’ve had a good feeling about his POV.
True … he occassionally steps on a turd or coughs up a hairball … but for the most part he is one smart and sassy cat.
El Gato Gordo …. primo …

  18. Rush is doing fine. I have been a subscriber to his site for years. He gives good ideas for push back from the tyranny the so called left is promoting. But it really isn’t left/right anymore, it is freedom vs tyranny. Big Guv vs individual rights. Big Guv proponents don’t want to talk to individuals, they are irrelevant in their minds. They want to talk to the “Blacks”, the “Hispanics”, the “Women”, the “lgbt community” the “whatever can be identified community so they can be controlled and pitted against another community community”; everyone except white Christian males. That is their fulcrum for identity politics.
Big Guv proponents are disgusting in their hypocrisy of their so called call for inclusiveness and tolerance.

  19. Love el Rushbo!
Rush is amazing, i listen to him everyday
I listen to the podcasts from his site first thing every morning
Rush Limbaugh is a nation treasure.

Ah, the idiocy of the small dead mind.

  20. Well phil, sorry to say your hero Olberman was canned today. He’s been replaced with that hooker humper Spitzer.

  21. Phil, you little bugger. Why do insist on this abuse from capitalist successful free minded producers? Must be lonely in the occupy camps these days, phone Suzuki for a friend, sure he’s available, what with globull warming imploding and such. PS Phil, I own land and am an “EVIL” food grower for you, you little poopsie ! Go shit on a police car like your supposed to about now.

  22. Rush Limbaugh was jumped on because he called a woman who would gladly prostitute herself out before the left tires of her a “slut”, a word that is supposed to somehow be empowering while walking around in lingerie a thinner woman might wear. If a man cannot utter such a word, he should also not refer to Sarah Palin as a c—.
I’m glad to see that his listeners don’t buy the hype.

  23. I’m just glad the public can distinguish a principled and legitimate campaign (ethical oil) from a trumped-up one (the Limbaugh “slut” fiasco).

  24. Rush should not have apologized because the analogy was crude but accurate. I suspect he was pressured by sponsors, some of whom are nothing more than corporate whores themselves. Rush’s listeners were not driven away which is verification that the apology did little damage.
Rush’s biggest sin is the slow moving pace, exaggerated bombast, and annoying commercial breaks. He is more articulate, reasoned and informed than 99% of the left.
