  2. Yesterday a guy online told me I was a “big dummy” for referring to Alan Colmes as a Man of the Left. He then added, “everyone knows he’s a conservative”.
    I have no proof either way whether this “genius” was a regular Ph.D. Troll here on SDA.

    That this happened in Colorado is incidental. As Wrechard writes in his article, it is a standard practice in the not so Great Britain.

    The scotus decision on citizens united opened up the super PACS so that billionaires and corporations can get in the game in this election and not only nullify the dough that Obama gets from limousine liberals and unions, but swamp them. Unlike Obama vs McCain the 2012 election will see the GOP have the upper hand spending-wise.

  12. Scopitones were born in France. The device used a 16mm magnetic tape that somehow generated an image on a screen that sat on top of what looked like an ordinary jukebox. I’ve never seen a real one, but they must’ve amazed a lot people. I`m told that many of the short shows were much the same as modern music videos.

  13. OK – to whom is this a surprise? Once the legal system officially recognizes that not all people are equal (ie Muslim man’s word = 2 Muslim women = 4 non-Muslim men=8non-Muslim women) then there is a strong reason to buy the word of another. The religious aspect is secondary: it is the parceling of people into zones within society that means that corruption will happen. Only a system that treats the word of all, however highly or lowly born, as equal has a chance for corruption to not flourish. Honouring individual rights and ownership (including patents, copyrights, etc) are a large part of this. That is why I don’t fear a takeover of the world by China, until patent protection is honoured, the best and brightest amongst them have no reason to maximize their own productivity. If I want to never have to work again for the rest of my life, I’ll figure a way to make a widget that reduces oilsands recovery costs by 0.01%, patent it, and sell the patent rights to those who recover oil from Gaia’s Oil Spill (aka the oilsands). If a patent means nothing, and I know my discovery will be stolen, I’ll spend no time trying to develop it because there would be no benefit to me to do so.
    That said (and back to the main point), corruption will likely flourish everywhere that justice can peek out from under her blindfold. The big question to me is whether to strive for the best and most open system you can get (Utopian vision), or to realize that so long as you’re dealing with humans there will be some who are easily corruptible, and set your rules and penalties accordingly.

  14. Saskatoon mayor and city council don’t seem to represent the taxpayers any more. Last monday they gave a thumbs up to a property developement involving Northridge Developements and a BC company. On thursday it was reported in the newspaper that Northridge owes the city 600,000 dollars in back taxes on the property. Part of that 600,000 is for the city and the rest, a little less than half is due to the schoolboard. Wally Mah, who is the owner of Northridge is a multi, multi millionare. The city of Sadskatoon has filed a lawsuit against Northridge. Why is the city still doing business with this company? If I don’t pay my water bill tha city will turn off the tap. Saskatoon taxpayers and voters should be outraged. Northridge is trying to F ck us all over and not pay it’s fair share. People should email Northridge and let them know that the taxpayers are watching them. If the city loses the lawsuit against Northridge then paying taxes should be optional for all of us. If you see Wally cruising around in his rag top BMW this summer flip him the bird.

    IMO, barring a trade, this is the best scenario for Tim Tebow, as he has all of the intangibles but none of the tangibles(skills) to compete at this level at QB. 3 or 4 years behind Manning should do wonders for TT’s mechanics including his throwing motion and release.
    All of that said, I suspect that TT will be traded shortly. I’ve heard the KC Chiefs are interested.

    I am an American male, and I have experienced all of what was posted in the blog “boycottamericanwomen”. I have seen it 1st hand.
    That is why I am in love with a petite Canadian woman who I am waiting for patiently. She has none of the traits of the women I have known up to the point when I met her.
    We are on the 5 year plan at the moment, as this is how long it will be before she retires from her career, and can come here to be with me.
    Long distance is very hard and difficult, but we have love and respect on our side.
    I hope to see her in May. We maximize our time together. She is like no woman I have ever known.
