This is a seriously good little idea: homeless hotspots.
Why not? It’s privately funded, useful, and it encourages interaction between the homeless and the, umm, homed.

Here is an interesting story that has totally flown under the radar about a criminal POS in Port Perry,Ontario that drew his pistol and capped off two imported scumbags about to do him harm.
The whole story, from top to bottom,is so sordid and disgusting that I think it deserves a thread of its own.
We should be hanging by the neck until dead the last dozen Immigration Ministers we have had in Canada, starting with JASON KENNEY if he doesn’t do something about some of what goes on in the story linked below!

I don’t believe the results of this poll. Simply do not.
Ummmmmm….first and last time to the Vancouver Red Sun. The leftard chickenshites don’t even allow comments! But what difference would that make anyways,I guess.Like the Hogtown Red Star, they’d just remove all counter comments.
Robert it is an interesting poll isn’t it? I find it interesting that none of these polls ever ask women’s attitudes about hitting men. Somehow most women think it’s ok and they do, it is aided and abetted by the media / society that ignore the real plight of abused men.
Last time I checked there were two count em two beds in the whole country for men to turn to if they suffered abuse from their “spouse”.
On an earlier thread we were discussing Andrew Coyne’s speech on the Conservatives.
Well well, here we are with another example where the Conservatives are coming up short. As everyone knows, Air Canada is having a labour dispute, and what is Minister of Labour Lisa Raitt do? She’s going to force the union back to work.
I know more than a few people who either once worked or are actively working for other airlines in Canada, some in very senior positions. Indeed a co-founder of one of the smaller airlines in Canada is a personal friend. Every last one of them is *sick and tired* of the government propping up Air Canada. Is it because Conservative MPs like to fly Air Canada and rack up their airmiles?
Air Canada should be left to sink to the bottom of the ocean which is where it deserves to go – why do the Conservatives prop it up?
Hey, EBD.
Excuse my presumptuousness…But you can never go wrong with the classics…My tip:

Only a short note to Robert W. (Vancouver) at March 12, 2012 10:31 PM
If you look at the composition of some areas of Calgary, you may get percentages higher than that.
It may be true what they say, it also depends whom are they asking.
Most anyone interested knows that certain religions encourage that kind of behaviour, as the president of Afghanistan just past weekend illustrated.
about that poll,
“…And eight per cent, nearly one in 10 of the men surveyed, did not agree that it’s never acceptable to physically assault a woman if she did something to incite the anger…”
Let me have fun with this,
“Physically assault” a woman is vague. Would grabbing her arm and asking her to stop screaming be considered assault? What if she is drunk or on drugs and completely out of control? what if she is about to hurt her own children?
If the woman did incite the anger, why should she not suffer consequences? are women unaccountable? Then if they are unacountable , are they not like children or the mentally retarded, they are weak and inferior and need men’s help and guidance ?
Saying it is never acceptable to assault a woman is like saying it is never acceptable to fire a gun at someone. ( I know I know, most liberals can not understand this one )
speaking of guns; what if the woman is assaulting you or someone else with a gun or a knife? can you not “physically assault” her and grab it from her hands to save your own life or those of the people around? again what if she was about to injure or kill her own children or your children?
Women are not “above” suffering consequences for their acts even if it means physical “assault”.
And There is no such thing as “never”.
Even feminists and various other dysfunctional liberals are not never right. ( hey once in a million is not never ! hahaha!)
about the Monlolian hotties; I have it on good authority each one of them has a boyfriend big enough to beat up an NFL linebacker.
Only in Saskatchewan!! I was driving at night on a paved Saskatchewan highway. Hit an unmarked pothole, a large chunk of pavement wrecked my undercarriage. About $1200 dollars damage. Vehicle had Sask. plates, package policy; my driver points are in the plus.
SGI wants to knock me for 6 demerit points. As of Jan, 2011, all accidents where SGI pays out more than $305 go against our points.
Question: A: How am I responsible for a pothole? B: Why is this against my package and not Dept. of Highways??
Help?
Robert W:
I think what happened is that the guys were sitting at home, the phone rang, so to get rid of Leger Marketing some said, “Yeah, it’s OK to hit a woman.” We don’t know how the question was worded.
My neighbour was married to a woman who used to come after him with plates, knives, forks etc. One day she came after him with a garden hoe and split his forehead open. He slapped her up pretty good. That’s when he got a restraining order. She tried to choke her second lover, he gave her a few slaps. Haven`t seen her in a while, thank God! And before you come to conclusions, talk to a cop that’s done domestic calls. You`ll think twice!

*UNaBomber Maurice Strong:
“Maurice Strong’s unprecedented rise to power + Earth Charter and the Earth Council Alliance”
“MDJarv — July 05, 2009 — From the CBC documentary ‘Life and Times’ (2004).
This clip takes a look at one of the world’s leading figures behind the New World Order agenda, and someone near the very top of the global warming/global tax/one world government swindle. For the past several years, Strong has been living in China following his exposed involvement in the UN’s Oil for Food scandal.
While the documentary casts an unabashedly favorable and glowing light on Strong, making him out to be a humanitarian of sorts and someone wanting to make the world a better place through his connections in business and government, those who have done the research and have studied Mr. Strong’s background and associations understand that this simply isn’t the case. However, this clip does at least highlight the dizzying speed in which Strong rose to power, as well as his many elite associations.”

catching up on my GBTV (Glenn Beck Television) from yesterday (March 12), and noticed about half-way through the episode, Larry O’Brien (former Ottawa mayor) was in the studio audience and introduced. He spoke about our “solid conservative government in Canada” and was very interested in the 9/12 projects Americans are working on (charity, political action, etc.) Sounds like he was invited to appear.
apparently Mr. O’Brien is quite a Glenn Beck fan…

@Soccermom — I like O’Brian and think his downfall may have been as much because of Ottawa Council as his own errors. He did have a steep learning curve and given that, I think he did a good job. Perhaps he should consider running somewhere for Conservatives in the next election.
@LindaL….I didn’t know much about O’Brien other than recognizing his name. My ears perked up when he was introduced on GBTV (in Dallas) as a former Ottawa mayor…It’s nice to see a prominent citizen paying attention…
It is subscribers-only access, otherwise I would have shared the clip…the segment with O’Brien was not one of the featured clips GBTV usually makes easily shareable…
The End of Britannica
CBC headline this morning;
“Liberal election calls records given to agency”
CBC update 3 hours later after an alert reader (me) called BS on their story;
” The records turned over are a fraction of what would have been generated during a federal election campaign, but Rae’s spokesman said they were to show the party is 100 per cent willing to co-operate and 100 per cent able.”
That’s 3 times in the past 5 days that I’ve caught these ‘journalists’ putting important information into a story as an update. All favoured the opposition’s take on Robocall. Quelle surprise.

More election fraud by the usual suspects;
” “They came with a Future Shop bill,” she told CBC News. “They came in with a Canadian Tire bill. They were coming in without proper identification.”
Gallyot alleges that despite lacking the required ID, voters were still allowed to cast their ballots.
She also said scrutineers — party volunteers who oversee voting on behalf of candidates — were approaching voters at polling stations, speaking to them in Tamil and coaching them on who to vote for. Gallyot overheard such coaching inside and outside a polling station she was allowed to visit as an “observer,” she said.”

I emailed to three MP’s re funding CBC BIAS.
The soft BS response:
March 13, 2012
Dear Mr. ——–,
Our Government recognizes CBC’s role as Canada’s national broadcaster. We are committed to ensuring that the Canadian broadcasting system contributes to the realization of Canadian social, cultural and economic objectives, as defined by the Broadcasting Act.
Our Government provides annual funding to the CBC of over $1.2 billion and expects the Corporation to use these public funds in the most efficient and accountable manner possible.
In the last Federal election we were elected on a commitment to eliminate waste and find savings across Government. To that end, we have launched a comprehensive deficit reduction action plan that will focus on improving the efficiency and effectiveness of government operations to ensure value for taxpayers’ money. All federal departments, agencies, and Crown corporations have been asked to identify and to propose efficiencies. The CBC, like all other government crown corporations, will be participating in a review of its spending to find savings and inefficiencies and is required to find savings and give back to the broader economic framework. The results of this process will be part of Budget 2012.
Thank you for taking the time to write and inform me of your point of view. I truly appreciate your input.
Sincerely,
Brian Jean, QC, MP
Fort McMurray – Athabasca
Now theres a story about 10% cuts to CBC’s budget.
Okay, I feel better.
