  1. will there be any conservatives there? so far i haven’t seen one in ottawa or anywhere else for that matter. talk to me about less government. of course no one can.

  2. I hate being cynical, but what percentage of the folks there will be traveling on someone else’s dime?

  3. Nice propaganda film, gets the blood stirring.
I hope the conference comes up with some real concrete ideas on bring back true small government called Democracy to this Nation.
    Starting with killing Public Unions.

  4. Jason Kenney, Ezra Levant and Rex Murphy – three of my favourite conservatives. Unfortunately, it’s being held too far away.

  5. There are some good speakers slated for the conference,Ezra Levant,Rex Murphy,Chuck Strahl,Libby Davies,Elizabeth May.
Wish I could attend, but like Paul,I haffta work.
btw, just kiddin’ about those last two speakers.

  6. OTTAWA? Who holds these in Ottawa? If you want to attract the Conservative Base this needs to be in Red Deer, or Saskatoon or Calgary (if you NEED a big city).

  7. I think the Manning Center needs to figure out if they want to be conservative or not. Chuck, Stock, and Presto aligning themselves with the BC provincial Liberals? Wow…

  8. They should be holding this “do” in downtown Edmonton – as a lesson in CONSERVATISM to that pack of shifty, slimy, spendaholics resident there!

  9. They should have it in the east, central and west, without media to spill the beans of the meetings, then compare notes in public. We the people can judge what was discussed and make some really great conservative advancements in this country we call our home.

  10. There’s lots of Conservatives in Ontario if you remove Toronto, Ottawa and Windsor from the mix.
It would be a great province to hold the conference in if it was held in Owen Sound, Mount Forest, Bancroft or any other non-urban center.
The West doesn’t have ownership on conservatism. It just seems that way right now but we’re working on it.

  11. Correction. that should be Daniel Hannan and his full 27 minute speech is on “Hot Air”.
Well worth listening for the full speech.

  12. I’d go if it was closer but Ottawa is a long drive from BC, especially in the winter. I agree with those who think it should be held in the west and Red Deer would be a good location or Kelowna in BC. Why such meetings are held in large cities is something I’ve never understood.
    Also I have to work.

  13. Oh my, and hard on the heels of Levant’s open mouth blowhard marshmallow roast. All that back to back teabagging hypocrisy. Poor Ontario.

  14. I hate being cynical, but what percentage of the folks there will be traveling on someone else’s dime?
    Now that’s an interesting question.

  15. “I hate being cynical, but what percentage of the folks there will be traveling on someone else’s dime?”
Probably a lot less than the folks at CPAC.
BTW that is why the common folks pay to register and sponsors support the events. Like a Trekkie convention without costumes (although you never know with Ezera).
pps, the MPs and Senators are carpooling from the hill.

  16. I am disappointed, as I went through the list of speaker photos and did no see Kate’s picture.
Yes, it would be great to be able to attend.
I like the Sir Wilfrid Laurier quote clip at the 29 second mark. This shows just how far today’s Liberal Party of Canada has drifted to the left.

  17. Phil weighs in again, see him floating by. Phil, I am sure you are the only tea bagger on this site, what Svend didn’t call last weekend.

Calgary could do it. Maybe Saskatoon. But fergit Red Deer. You need lots of hotels to put up a large crowd of people. Holding it in Calgary, it may just end up being a “preaching to the converted” crowd, though. I would say Saskatoon. Or maybe even Winnipeg.

  19. PO’ed in AB @ 3:58 PM: “They should be holding this “do” in downtown Edmonton – as a lesson in CONSERVATISM to that pack of shifty, slimy, spendaholics resident there!”
Agreed. The bigger the city the more likely you can find a convention facility that has the capacity to host extremely large crowds, not to mention the necessary number of bedrooms in decent hotels. Plunking it down in the centre of lefty-ville would be the cherry on top, so yes, Edmonton, or Winnipeg, or Saskatoon, but I’m not sure Saskatoon would have the capacity. D#$% sure Red Deer hasn’t.

  20. I wonder what they will say about C-51 at that forum. Will they roast it in the manner that it deserves, or will they clam up and let the CPC get away with increasing police powers and restricting freedom on the Internet.
    Hmmm…..

  21. to have this kind of a “do” in the west is simply preaching to the choir and the voters in the east get nothing out of it. Involve them in the process, bring ’em into the fold, maybe win a few converts. However, if someone is willing to foot the bill for me travelling from cowtown I promise I’ll take notes!

  22. G20 Pork Barrel King Tony Clements – give me a break – he does deserve to still be in Cabinet let alone at this confrence
