  1. Another incident for Minister James Moore to defend…if he can…and he tries…and I’m getting sick of his excuses.

  2. His final tweet was hilarious: “Have concluded tweeting supplies CBC’s detractors with ammunition for attacks. So, voluntarily closing Twitter account. My initiative.”
No Neil, your tweeting exposes your CLEAR HATRED of Jewish people which reflects badly on your employer.

  3. His initiative? – ya, right.
I vaguely remember the guy – stopped watching two decades ago.

  4. In one of the links, Honest Reporting Canada notes that during one of his reports on the protest movements in the Arab world, MacDonald “reported” this:

“Repressive emergency laws are used extensively throughout the Middle East. President Barak Obama repeatedly denounced Egypt’s during the protests. The trouble is that most Arabs know that Israel has an emergency law too, which it uses for such things as detention without trial, and confiscation, or demolition of Palestinian property…”

That’s a transparently gratuitous piece of anti-Israel agitprop. It doesn’t even pretend to be logical. I mean, he’s reporting on protests in the Arab world, and “the trouble is most Arabs know that Israel has an emergency law too”? That’s “the trouble”?
The CBC is worse than Al-Jazeera English, and I’m not even kidding.

  5. I just remember the last time I watched him, 2-3 weeks ago, talking about Florida’s “first” Republican governor, Bob Martinez. While a ten second Wikipedia search would have proven this wrong (though some people don’t count the Reconstruction era), Bob Martinez wasn’t even the first Florida Republican governor in modern times. What’s my point? Even setting aside the obvious bias he displays, one can’t even trust his facts to be accurate.

  6. That was an ambiguous tweet. Maybe he is saying that he has had a change of heart and we should all have guns and Canadian wouldn’t shoot each other even if we were armed. That would have got him knocked off tweeting by the CBC for sure!

  7. pettifog, I’ve never associated Lie’n MacDonald with facts.
Get rid of him, even if the whole CBC has to be shut down to do so.

  8. I love how old MacDonald plays the victim… What a fool… MacDonald probably blames his self proclaimed victimhood on the Jews too… anti-semite arse face.

  9. More cuts to the left-liberal arts.
Mikey, Neil’s comrade, gets the cut in the gut. We feel your pain, Mikey.
    …-
“Michael Harris had worked for radio station CFRA for 11 years.
OTTAWA — CFRA talk show host Michael Harris is among 16 on-air staff and manager who were let go Thursday by Bell Media in a corporate restructuring at CTV Ottawa and at radio stations CFRA, Majic 100, Bob-FM and Team 1200.”
“He said he had to leave the building immediately and could not pick up any of his personal belongings.
“I will deeply miss the audience because I had a special relationship with them. We did a lot of special things as well as the talk show. So, I’ll miss the audience and if I had one regret it’s that I didn’t get a chance to sign off,” he said.”

  10. So Neil didn’t meet the journalistic standards of the CBC on neutrality? Ha,ha,ha, ha, ha…….

  11. Israel has a right to defend herself, and individual Israelis have the right to defend themselves.

  12. “Michael Harris had worked for radio station CFRA for 11 years.”
Harris will probably end up at the CBC. After all, with pending budget cuts coming to the state broadcaster, it would seem counterintuitive to have any new “journalists” join their ranks and the salaries to go along with that… which is why he will probably end up there.

  13. Speaking of Michael Harris, I don’t think he’d accept a senate appointment, then again I’m quite certain he’d never be offered one.

  14. Let’s see, Israelis have lots of guns and they know who their enemies are. Is that an accidentally accurate take on Mr. MacDonald’s tweet?
Too bad that Canadian Governments don’t think of their populations as favorably.

  15. I,m having a hard time understanding that Jan 5 tweet as anything other than a John Lott style endorsement of gun ownership as crime prevention. No wonder CBC found it intolerable.

  16. He meant that the Israelis don’t shoot each other, just Palestinians. That would be “the other path” he didn’t want to mention.
Personally I don’t see a problem with shooting people who are lobbing explosives at your house, but then I’m not a Toronto liberal.
Remember friends, if you see a Prius the chances are good there’s a liberal in it. Govern yourselves accordingly.
