  1. As soon as I read this,I had a flashback to the “bring out your dead” scene from Monty Python’s Holy Grail.
    “Bring out your dead”
    “I’m not dead yet”
    “Look, you’re not fooling anyone”.
Didn’t even look at the youtube link until after I had written the above!

  2. Why is it that a choice like capital punishment (where death is forced on a person) is endorsed but a choice like euthanasia (where death is chosen by the person) is frowned upon?
Who are we to dicatate the terms that someone is to make decisions about THEIR OWN lives? Why should anyone be made to suffer through THEIR OWN lives by others that care more about the optics of morality than the pain and discomfort that people endure everyday without option of solace or escape?
Choices, consequences and responsibilities are what our lives are made up of. After watching both of my parents languish in a hospital, while cancer slowly killed them, when all they wanted was a dignified and pain-free death; I can say with certainty that I will not allow the same to happen to me.

  3. “The mobile units are being aggressively promoted by Dutch euthanasia campaign groups who want to expand the eligibility criteria for euthanasia”
I suppose this is alright if the eligibility criteria is expanded to include anyone I don’t like.

  4. Hey Jan nothing illegal or immoral really about doing yourself in. The key word is “yourself”.

  5. Isn’t that one of those “Dear Luftwaffe, come back all is forgiven. And BTW you missed a spot.” moments?
Love letters from Dr. Mengele I presume?
When do the Allied soldiers collectively roll over in their graves in disgust?
That is seriously all FARC-ed up, next they’ll be putting the exhaust into the back of roving lorries.
You won’t have to worry about CO2 and global warming, as CO carbon monoxide will take it’s place.
“They claim that 80 per cent of people with dementia or mental illnesses were being ‘missed’ by the country’s euthanasia laws.”
Because, you know, dementia and mental illness is a good reason to kill people…outside of the fact that they are unable to give consent!
The only thing missing are the double SS runes on their lapels.
    Cheers
Hans-Christian Georg Rupprecht, Commander in Chief
    1st Saint Nicolaas Army
    Army Group “True North”

  6. The SS had gas vans to eliminate unwanted people. Nothing new under the sun. Will social workers have euthanasia quotas?

  7. …then Drive-by shootings are just innovative, ahead of the curve thinking, interesting. Nuts.

  8. NO wonder Islam & the left get alone. They both love death so much. Like one commenter said . You don’t see many handicapped people anymore in Holland.
Why are they so enthusiastic about this. Drs won’t even come to your home when sick, but to kill they are right there. Eugenics in the guise of medical care, Good news for Psychos though. They can now kill legally by government fiat. The young Women who is so happy about this will in her turn grow old. By then it will be mandatory.
Europe now has the morality of vultures.

  9. Yup. I can see it now.
Two euthanizers leaving 524 Anywhere Lane rechecking the paperwork ….
Euthanizer #1: Hey, this says 542 Anywhere Lane.
    Euthanizer #2: Ooops.
Euthanizer #1: Now wonder they struggled so much!
Euthanizer #2: Do you have any whiteout?

  10. Smacks of finishing what Hitler started, typical of the feral left to hide behind compassion whilst practicing their inhumane eugenics.

  11. Hans, oldfart and Rose say it well and dmorris knows where this will ultimately go. Tommy Douglas was ahead of his time.

  12. Good idea, it would sure cut down on wasting health care dollars on the last couple of weeks of a dying persons life… We spend way to much to keep people alive and extra day or week. We treat our pets better at the end of life.

  13. @ james;
You see nothing ‘immoral’ about leaving someone to slink away in shame to deal with their pain and suffering all alone?
You see nothing ‘immoral’ about leaving the only options available to deal with this pain as messy, painful and lonely as possible?
You show EXACTLY what the limits of your humanity, dignity, compassion and belief in freedom are.

  14. Some marketing suggestions …
Ask about the two for one special.
We won’t be back in the neighbourhood for another month, might as well take advantage of our low introductory price.
Don’t let your aging relatives “clog up” Holland’s health care system.
    (stick a finger in it)

  15. Another data point supporting Mark Steyn’s thesis.
Holland is a post-Christian society and, as such, utilitarian motives supersede the sanctity of human life in healthcare decisions by the state. Preserving granny’s life ranks lower than other priorities, like, maternity leave for new fathers, or welfare for new immigrants.

  16. You’re on a very slippery slope, Jan in Alberta. This isn’t some noble cause. As stated above once the killing starts it can turn in any direction. Maybe when you reach fifty? Forty even? Oh, their lonely so let’s kill them.
You want to off yourself? Be my guest, but no one has the right to off others. I believe that’s called murder, State sanctioned or not.

  17. What about Suicide Booths?
You get rid of people, and get them to pay you $0.25 for the privilege!

  18. Modern orwellian Government – if they don’t kill you with taxes they’ll kill you with mercy.

  19. Think what a boost to the Canadian federal budget if old-timers were involuntarily euthanised after, say, age, 75!
It would save us billions! Later,if the budget still doesn’t balance, we could simply LOWER the age in five year increments!
“Better living through death” would make a lovely slogan.

  20. Jan in Alberta: There is no capital punishment in Canada. Suicide is legal here. Euthanasia has been legal in Holland since 2002 – six types are practiced (passive, semipassive, active, semiactive, suicidal, and accidental).
It’s naive to think that all persons euthanized in Holland are put to sleep by lethal injection.
The main point of the article – stated twice therein is “[The Units]will be called in to kill patients when their own GPs refuse to administer lethal drugs. And “In answer to questions from Christian Union MPs she said that mobile units ‘for patients who meet the criteria for euthanasia but whose doctors are unwilling to carry it out’ was worthy of consideration.
Obviously, this is an attempt to work around the current legislation & the need for a Doctors approval: “The mobile units are being aggressively promoted by Dutch euthanasia campaign groups who want to expand the eligibility criteria for euthanasia and also to open facilities specifically for euthanasia .
The article also mentioned persons with dementia and mental illness being “missed” in the current legislation and “public meetings” being held to encourage the elderly to learn about their ‘right to die’.
The intentions are crystal clear. Executioners with euthanasia clinics for profit – the birth of the death industry.

  21. We have these in the US as well. Down here, though, we call them “Law Enforcement” officers…

  22. There are Euthanasia Units in North America already. The Americans call them “SWAT Teams”.

  23. I can’t believe so many commenters have missed the obvious fact: the Dutch HS is in as much financial trouble as any other state health system. The reason that they are so cheerfully eager to support mobile euthanasia units is because patients are a liability, but their bodies are a valuable asset. All of the blather about “dignity in death” is meaningless. The real story is all about money.
The Chinese, who are olympian in their callousness, are quite matter of fact about their practice of using mobile execution vans and harvesting all the viable tissue they can from the condemned. In Europe, they may frown on the “barbarity” of executions, but if you’re silly enough to express a desire to die, or unfortunate enough to have legal guardians who feel that you would be better off dead, the state will happily oblige with the removal of the remains.
The Monty Python clip was well chosen.

  24. Jan in Alberta a lot of people think about ending their life. It’s almost always a temporary thing but unfortunately it’s a permanent solution.
If you make it as easy as signing a form and saying “let’s do it” I think it would be a huge mistake. It’s not long before coercion is used and expediency is the prime consideration. People with terminal illness have plenty of access to sedatives and pain relief. The people I have seen die of cancer were all asleep when they died. None wanted me to kill them when they were awake.

  25. This could open a whole new industry, say in recycling and protein products with the appropriate green colour.

  26. Wonder if they’ll take thier shoes off in Muslim homes?
Sorry, I suppose the protected masters won’t need to worry about it.

  27. Jan
in here this topic is like throwing out the term GAY, it just causes many in here to go into “full stupid”, and thump their bible a little

  28. “The Dutch government is considering plans to use mobile medical teams which would administer euthanasia to people in their homes…”
So what’s wrong with that? I’m totally in favour of it, so long as Dutch citizens can also use mobile death squads which would administer assassination to the Dutch politicians who supported the measure.
    😉

  29. Yeah, it looks bad. Dutch government, mobile death vans, yep.
Wait until you hear what the -Ontario- government has in mind for Grandma. Nothing so unsubtle. Just a persistent delay in getting healthcare.

  30. Old people are so damned annoying and it speeds up the inheritance. Not only that but killing old people saves health care dollars. Who else can we kill? We started with unborn babies and are progressing to old people. How about we just get to pick who we kill. It’s so civilized.

  31. Jan and Gym, the difficulty is clearly not what people chose for themselves. The difficulty is what an unaccountable government bureaucrat may decide FOR them.
    Duh.

  32. I reiterate for Jan, GYM and their ilk, the recommendation to read, “Into That Darkness” by Gita Sereney. It all starts with the loftiest of motives. And I too am perplexed as to how those with mental illness and dementia give informed consent. I’m waiting to be enlightened.
The article reinforces my belief that the end game of modern Political Corectness/Liberalism is Law of the Jungle. The strong survive, the weak are killed or subjugated.

  33. I alway thought that their water supply in Europe has something in it that effects the political class….it been like that for….//

  34. Well we need to bring the world population down to 1.3 billion. So start on the low hanging fruit, those who can’t speak for themselves – abortion, now next is ones who comprehensibly speak for themselves – the mentally challenged, and then those who can’t pay for themselves.

  35. Fresh organs!
    Get your fresh organs!
    Kidneys!
    Liver!
    Lungs! Two for one!
Get ’em while they’re still warm!

  36. Let us see now,
The Phoenicians sacrificed their children that were probably born to the prostitutes used for their orgies and produced surplus.
    http://www.stanford.edu/dept/archaeology/journal/newdraft/garnand/paper.pdf
The Maya sacrificed their youth in the best time of their lives, to balance the universe.
Seems in modern times of today, the sacrifice is to support the socialist medicine.
They sure make it look as though national socialists were just slightly ahead of our time.
There is really nothing new in the universe except the packaging.

  37. bigmike “Eventually, committing suicide will be as easy as ordering a pizza!”
You do mean murder. It will never stop at suicide.

  38. BTW anyone who doubts the “slippery slope” consider airport security today. 10 years ago if someone said you would be strip searched either virtually or an actual strip search people would have called you crazy. Now no one even cares really. Same deal for this thing. We’ll go from “compassion” to killing grandma because she stinks in 5 years or less.

  39. George Bernard Shaw, Margaret Sanger (patron saint of Planned Parenthood) and Tommy Douglas were all eugenicists who abhorred the imperfections embodied in humanity.
Low IQ? Downs syndrome? Genetic defects? A drain on productive humanity that should – no, must – be eliminated.
Shaw put forth the theory of ‘inputs’. IOW, if your contribution to the collective was exceeded by your needs, for the good of society you should be eliminated. ‘Imbeciles’ contributed very little, yet still required food and shelter provided by others and therefore ought to be euthanized.
Somehow the doctrine of “from each according to your ability and to each according to your need” didn’t apply to the infirm or the disadvantaged.
It’s the same philosophy being adopted in Holland – murder dressed up as compassion.
