Did these future temperature increase predictions come from the same folks embroiled in Climategate?
I remember hearing this during the height of the cold war:
One nuclear bomb could ruin your whole day.
Today we can update that to say:
Climate change can ruin your whole day.
I’m not a scientist,or even a scientician,but this statement does not make sense.
Why would parts of Africa have 3 times the increase of other parts of the world?
Is your temperature rise based on the carbon offsets that you buy?

Hm, funny how a person that was the victim of an unjust law wants to perpetrate dozens of unjust laws on US,in the name of fighting “climate change”.
I have always believed when any “cause” starts to bring out the “superstars”,it’s because they’ve run out of a coherent argument for their position.
Desmond Tutu,on climate change,has as much credibility as those other Nobel winners,Gore,Obama,and the IPCC.
I say two things.
First, Desmond Tutu’s fifteen minutes of fame have long since come and gone.
Second, the Anglican Church has been taken over by atheist Leftists at the highest levels so pretty much anything that comes out of there is suspect.
In other words, they can bite me.

The further the Anglican Communion gets from the One, True God, and therefore, the one, true, faith which it used to teach and defend, the further from reality the leadership gets.
I’m afraid that the Anglican Communion has backed the wrong horse in just about every issue going. They’ve drunk the progressive Kool-Aid and we know what happens after that: hallucinations and one Hell of a hangover when they wake up and discover the house has been plundered.

batb, well said and that goes for the United Church of Canada as well and many other Protestant churches. In fact even some of the more liberal city Mennonite churches have been infected with Marxism.

Ken, I live out in United Church country. The upper echelons of the Church and many of the urban/suburban congregations are NDPee types, for sure.
Once you get out of the Toronto area, the congregations are the same as they ever were, conservative Christian. Not at all impressed with some of the goofier edicts and decisions coming out of church HQ on Bloor Street, nor the impressive number of employees at HQ.
Although I must admit that you’re not wrong about who’s running the UCC, their web site has a whole section titled “Social Justice”.
For myself, I left 30 years ago. Couldn’t find what I was looking for there.

South Africa is circling the toilet bowl, nobody wants to visit the murder capital of the world. Tutu wants lots of visitors to Durban to assist his country’s economy so they may continue preaching reverse apartheid.
Beyond that, global warming is the holy grail, carbon credits were meant to be transfered to “poor” undeveloped countries(that would include the entirety of Africa-hellhole that it is) to offset some perceived wrong in the past.

I personally find those members of the clergy who attempt to influence culture beyond their calling despicable. Should Desmond Tutu want to express his political opinion then he should take off his collar and put aside his honorific ‘Bishop’ and say anything he wants. The minute he puts on the collar or attaches ‘Bishop’ to his name then his speech should be restricted to spiritual matters and not the ravings of a someone deluded.
I once chided a fellow pastor who expressed a political point of view from the pulpit. A few years later that same pastor declared that he had been ill informed and thus may have influenced others in an inappropriate way.

Note to the Archbishop. It’s a Nobel Peace Prize, therefore it does not mean you actually are knowledgable about any subject. Stop shilling for money from productive countries and instead make your country productive. Start by removing the ANC appointed executives from the electrical companies, who were only appointed due to skin colour and party connections. Meritocracy works much better than a racial quota system. A stable and abundant electrical supply is needed to grow business.
As a man of god, how can you morally justify taking money from me, through taxation, that you have not earned from me? Isn’t that one of those commandment thingamajiggies?
By the way, you have lots of sunshine and an entire ocean of water. Start building desalination plants if you need fresh water.
