Julie MacArthur, Canadian Drone

With a strict nausea warning in place, take a gander at this diatribe from a Female White Socialist who will be attending the October 15th “Occupy Vancouver” protest … and possible riot. Ms. MacArthur, an SFU political science teacher, is a typical Left Coast urban hypocrite who enjoys all the direct & indirect benefits of electricity, oil, natural gas, and other resources that provide her with a very pampered life but chooses to besmirch everything she benefits from. Not a big surprise, considering she is a disciple and propagandist of the David Suzuki school of “Green is Good, Capitalism is Bad”.
Her totalitarian tendencies are clearly visible through her dripping antipathy towards Canada’s democratic electoral process. Translation: The Conservatives won, which is unacceptable to her narrow little world view.
Open Questions: Should a riot break out at the protest that Ms. MacArthur so vehemently supports, and millions of dollars of damage are once again effected on buildings and businesses, what amount of said damage is she going to pay for? What amount of money should Ms. MacArthur pay to the Downtown Vancouver Business Association to cover the security costs that her & her ilk are forcing upon them?
In a related post, a grammatically challenged “colleague” of MacArthur makes a plea to “all my fellow anarchists, lefties and anti-authoritarians”. In the world of 2011, when ALL of these protesters are demanding the same thing, namely more of everything for nothing, isn’t his list redundant?!
The problem with mindless twits like these two is that they accept only one half of the Benefits / Responsibility equation. The fact that their ilk will never recognize this as long as they live is at the heart of what’s destroying Vancouver very quickly and Canada in a somewhat slower manner.

  1. But if we take from the rich and give to the poor, they won’t be rich anymore they’d be poor, then we’d have to take the money from the people we gave it to in the first place so they won’t be rich….

  2. “more of everything for nothing”
    I like that slogan.
Perhaps the residents of Vancouver, fresh from thier experience of the Stanley Cup riots will come out en-masse only this time not to clean up the mess but to prevent it.

  3. So she has everything she needs, but she wants more, with her name on it at no cost. As for Afghan girls getting an education — well, screw them. She wants more houses for everyone, just don’t cut down any trees to make them, and let’s heat them with a windmill on the roof. And she’s going to throw public tantrums until she gets it all handed to her.
And she complains about others being greedy!

  4. “Open Questions: Should a riot break out at the protest that Ms. MacArthur so vehemently supports, and millions of dollars of damage are once again effected on buildings and businesses, what amount of said damage is she going to pay for?”
    Answer: “That’s RACIST!”
Its a stupid question Robert. These people are being PAID to riot by the ruling faction. Its “politics by other means”, ring a bell?
Businesses in downtown Van had better evacuate all the expensive stuff and get the plywood up on those windows, because the Vancouver PD are all going to be leaning on their cruisers while the revels take place.

  5. Personally I think these protests are good. The more the moonbats focus on things like these protests that will have no affect on our political landscape the better. These wastes of time keeps them out of the real political process which is good for everyone.

  6. Do none of these people understand that without an economy, without businesses, there is no money? Not for the rich and certainly not for the poor. If they are so opposed to capitalism, they can go live in a village in the middle of Africa and leave me to my consumption of all things manufactured…

  7. The whining of the eco-feminist left. A pampered YUPPY perpetuating the same narratives (as a teacher) that warped her. While living off the looted capital of, and yet decrying a resource-based economy, she laments that she can never afford a home in the most artificially inflated real estate market in Canada. Life is so cruel, I wonder if she will take the BMW and worry about parking or take the bus when she goes from Kitsilano downtown to the protest. She, no doubt wonders why Gregor Robertson (Mayor of Vancouver) won’t supply shuttle buses. Perhaps she can pick up some fresh, organic, fair-trade produce at Granville Island on the way home.

  8. Just another “cause du jour” from the angry entitlement/welfare/anarchist class, blaming everybody else for their personal problems.
It’s not society’s fault they took the wrong major at school, for which there never was any demand in the job market.
It’s not society’s fault they took all those student loans to fund said wasted education. It’s a free society, they made a terrible choice. I would have did the math, BEFORE choosing the major, or the loans, not only to see how much I might owe, but more importantly, checked out the job market for that knowledge and skillset. If it didn’t exist, why take out $50k plus of loans? it makes no sense.
All I see at these kinds of protests is just the same old anti-everything crowd, chanting the same old epithets, about the same old things.
Most of the people I know and have talked to, expect a riot, these guys just can’t help yourselves. And in a twisted way, I hope a riot goes down, discrediting the cause, showing it for what it really is.
    A violent wish for revolution.
Their grief is real, but their anger is thoroughly misguided. Denying their own responsibilities for the situation they are in, is the root cause here.
Accepting responsibility for ones choices is an adult choice, and there aren’t many adults in those causes.

  9. Metro Vancouver has over 2 million people, want to wager on how many they can get to show up, as a percentage of the population available?
My bets on less than .1%, which would leave 99.9 percent as the 1% they seem to feel they are protesting about.
Just another bit of social justice kabuki.

It’s their extreme arrogance, for assuming that they are speaking for every single person, who isn’t in the million dollar per year club.
It’s just more sloganeering, which, by the way, is always a dead giveaway of a Leftist cause, whether it’s a clever sounding slogan, or the loathsome “Hey hey, Ho Ho” chant…..
Vankonger has its fair share of socialist/leftist/anarchists, so, I would expect possibly around 2,000 people or so, at least for the initial mass hissyfit. The Jim Sinclairs/Libby Davies/Poverty Pimp crowd will be there, but will then return to their sycophantic roles come Monday Morning, leaving the useful idiots to carry out their wishes.
So, that would make it 0.067% of the population available.
    A FAR CRY from 99%

  11. Phantom et al, she actually responded to my question about whether she was going to pay a portion of the extra security that she was forcing upon the business owners. Her answer was both instructive and stunning:
“Short answer: no. I’m not planning to pay for their security. Small businesses will have many people buying food, coffee and goods for as long as we are there. My ilk and I have a few other issues to deal with beyond that.”
Keep in mind folks, she is a university instructor/researcher who considers herself to be a law-abiding, contributing member of society. Yet she has the gall to make the statement above. I would be appalled to have such a thug teaching my children!!!

  12. AHAHAHHA the colleague links leftist with antiauthoritarians! Pure comedy gold!

  13. Today in North America actually all of the Western World, it boils down to the ugly death of Socialism and how that death is harming people. Instead of blaming the Governments and idealogues like Trudeau/Tommy Douglas etc. that instituted Socialism and got the people hooked, the leftards are now blaming the creators of wealth. A true Atlas Shrugged moment. I have lumped all the Socialist Howlers, be they NDP/Liberal/Green into “The TEAT Party vs the TEA Party. Where’s my TEAT Bro…

  14. I’d love to see Vancouver “occupied”. And Toronto, and Montreal.
They(the left) are welcome to them. They made these cesspools what they are.
The ROC would be better off quarentining the bacillus infecting it.

  15. Money is just a medium of exchange.
If they took all the money from the productive people and gave it to the unproductive people, the unproductive people would soon have nothing to spend that money on because they could no longer motivate the productive people to produce things anymore.

  16. As Julie MacArthur admits, her ancestors stole Turtle Island from the original inhabitants, and she needs to bugger off back to Europe to make things right. I mean otherwise she’d just be a spoilt, illogical hypocrite, wouldn’t she?

  17. Funny, isn’t it, that these protests by the “little people” were predicted by Glenn Beck before George Soros, Move On.org, et al “ran him off.” Yes, they did. We know Soros put tremendous pressure on Murdock to do so. And we saw Murdock and his heir crumble under a lot less pressure re: cell phone hacking accusations, to the extreme reaction of shutting down one of planet Earth’s most read newspaper News of the World. Actually, Beck didn’t foretell but, rather, forewarned of what is being carried out via university subversives. Beck merely reported word-for-word and by video tapes what one of Obama’s “tsars” – isn’t that an interesting appellation? – who was a card-carrying Communist and signee of a document supporting the “Bush blew up the Twin Towers” myth of morons. Beck’s revelations forced Commrad Obama to remove the man from his list of tsars. In fact, he was merely shuffled into a less conspicuous role as an Obama adviser. Beck, however, showed a tape where the man (whose name totally escapes me at the moment) told of organized “Bottom up; Top down” pressure on American society (Obama’s self-admitted Class Warfare and the Occupy Wall Steet prostest movement. We were forewarned but we did not heed.

  18. Garrysworld: That man’s name is Van Jones.
A quick search will show him as currently stick handling ‘Americans for Progress’ – anotherSoros funded organization with an inverted label, as they are for anything but the progress that America represents.
    He’d prefer a Stalinist state.

  19. I got through a few paragraphs of moonbat whining before I decided I had a lot better things to do like winterizing my house.
If one can’t afford a house in Vancouver, then move out of the city and buy a house where housing is way cheaper. That’s what I did and it was one of the best moves that I ever made.
The only thing I wonder about is what happens to places like Vancouver when all of the productive people move out and just the moonbats are left? With the improved communications that currently exist there’s really no reason to live in a large city. Sure, one can’t go out for a few beers with colleagues after work but online interaction is very easy.

  20. I liked it better in the old days. All they did was get stoned, say ‘Hey man’ and didn’t pretend they had something intelligent to conribute…on any matter.

  21. The faster the protests progress to violence the better. Violence is clarifying. Responding to violence is straightforward.
Government has organised force, and machine guns, and the whatever-they-are don’t. Can you say, “Kent State”?
