They’re all recognizable and familiar types. CBC executives, producers and reporters, for example, fit perfectly into the “Public Mandate” category.

“The comments of Prime Minister Harper should be saluted. He’s the first Western leader who has come up with the clarity that has been missing in the last ten years.
Had Prime Minister Harper been the President of the United States we would have won the War on Terror by now. But instead we’ve got someone in the White House today who’s apologizing, and in fact giving the impression that it was the United States that attacked muslims, not vice versa.”

“These sharia Bolsheviks, these bleeding-heart white liberals are a dime a dozen in Canada, and what they do not understand is that as a muslim I am the first line of defence – the islamists will get me and slit my throat long before Mr. Champ ever comes into the picture. I would gladly exchange my position with his white privilege and then discuss this issue. Let him go to Pakistan.”

R-CALF: EPA Declares Hay a Pollutant
“Has the Environmental Protection Agency declared hay a pollutant?” an audience member asked. Callicrate responded affirmatively and explained that the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) recently initiated a formal enforcement action against his Kansas feedlot for, among other things, failure to store his hay in a pollution containment zone. “Now that EPA has declared hay a pollutant, every farmer and rancher that stores hay, or that leaves a broken hay bale in the field is potentially violating EPA rules and subject to an EPA enforcement action,” Callicrate said. “How far are we going to let this agency go before we stand up and do something about it?”

The kind of person who is too lazy to re-use a shopping bag is the same sort of sub-human that litters. They seem to think the world owes them a living.
North of 60
So littering gets one sub-human status?
Do you ever listen to what you say?…And…If a bear shits in the woods and nobody baggies it how many Unicorns die?
Show your math.
Yeah except that the environmental benefits of reusable shopping bags is doubtful, as per usual with anything supported by moonbats.
I do like the reusable plastic Superstore shopping bags though. They only cost a buck and are waaay sturdier and bigger than the regular plastic ones. But they are only good to use a few times before throwing away as they get dirty.
Hmm.. I wonder if there’s a market for reusable asbestos shopping bags?

If a bear shits in the woods it rots. If you discard a plastic bag because you’re just too damn lazy to re-use it, then it doesn’t rot, it litters. Are you that stupid or just ignorant.
I’ve been using a pair of re-usable shopping bags from Cdn Tire for two years now. They wash just fine. It’s way better than a pile of plastic bags in a landfill. Are you proud of how much you waste?
I’ve been a frugal conservative all my life. It has nothing to to with ‘environmental’ or ‘green BS’. It’s called being personally responsible and not expecting others to clean up after you. Phuckin nanny state entitlement lieberal socialists are always expecting someone else to take care of them and clean up their messes. I expect better from the people on this forum.
Be responsible for yourself, and the mess you make with your life. The world does not owe you a living.
Asbestos shopping bags…hhhmmmm…There may be a market but only if they’re endorsed by Saint Layton.
The Postumous Patron Saint of Asbestos.
North of 60
You have no inkling of what I waste or don’t. None.
What you do have is gassy aspersions and two old bags.
Just out of curiosity…who signs your cheque?
Everything plastic is made from, the petroleum based resin and the powdered rock filler the resin ties together to make the plastic object, comes from the earth itself.
And plastic does degenerate over time.
I know this from personal experience having worked in a plastics plant and mixing some of the plastic by hand for about 3 years making PVC and ABS back in the 20th century.
Yeah, sure, whatever…
Does your mommy still pick up after you and clean up your messes?
Be a responsible adult and don’t treat the planet as your personal garbage dump.
Littering is for asswholes. The choice is yours.

I miss the good old days when we had lead water pipes and clay sewer pipes.
Of course I chewed my share of lead paint off the windowsill.
There was a post here a few months ago about the fact that some researchers had tested reusable fabric shopping bags for bacteria, and found the majority of them heavily laden with potentially disease-causing varieties.
So, if you use cloth shopping bags, you have to launder them in hot water, and then dry them, to ensure that they are safe to carry your groceries.
Figure the cost of the energy to heat the laundry water, the cost of the energy to run the washing machine, and the cost of the energy to dry the bags, and the disposable plastic ones, which cost a fraction of a cent to make, start looking pretty darn responsible.
And I “recycle” mine, by using them as trash bags, which reduces the number of purpose-made trash bags I buy.
That is a problem with many of the so-called “green” alternatives. They look good at first glance, but dig a little deeper, and you find that the Law of Unintended Consequences is ready to be proven once more.
gordinkneehill
In my mind, North of 60 epitomizes the law of unintended consequences.
Pretty well everywhere I’ve been in the States they call them ‘sacks’, not ‘bags’. Is California different? Maybe it’s all the Canadians who live there.
If I remember correctly, most plastic ‘sacks’ are made of polyethylene, which is derived from natural gas, not the sludge remaining after oil is refined.
“So the Dalai Lama and friends want to stop the Alberta-Texas pipeline. I don’t have the words…”

This is the strangest energy policy imaginable:
“the province’s current requirement to become energy self-sufficient by 2016, a policy that Hydro says is driving up its costs. Under the Clean Energy Act, BC Hydro needs to have enough capacity to meet its domestic needs even when water supplies are critically low – with the base set at a severe drought recorded in the 1940s”…Dr. Weaver said his research underscores the need to increase the province’s clean-energy supply. His models forecast more summer droughts in the future, with a significant impact on the water reservoirs that produce much of B.C.’s hydroelectric power.
So, basically, the existing Clean Energy Act forces BC to be self-efficient based on worst case scenarios from the past and GIGO models of possible future droughts – just to prevent the import of even one MW of evil fossil fuels from adjacent jurisdictions. That will cause a lot of unnecessary (taxpayer subsidized) overbuild of electricity capacity that will either sit idle or be sold below the production cost to places like Alberta. Economically, it makes much more sense to import power when needed to supplement peak load requirements or work around Gaia’s moodiness

**BTW isn’t the chosen “expert”,Weaver, also the AGW zealot suing Dr.Bell?
“Andrew Weaver, the Nobel laureate climate scientist…Dr. Weaver, Canada Research Chair in climate modelling and analysis at the University of Victoria,”…Dr. Weaver said his research underscores the need to increase the province’s clean-energy supply. Re:shopping bag bans and unintended consequences
BIN liner sales in SA have doubled since free plastic shopping bags were banned more than two years ago. And most bin bags are made of thicker plastic than traditional bags, which means they take longer to break down in the environment…The figures have raised concerns about whether the plastic bag ban has been effective in reducing waste sent to landfill…
Zero Waste SA chief executive Vaughan Levitzke claimed in January 2009 the ban would not lead to a significant rise in the number of bin bags bought.
“Research shows purchase of bin liners will not increase significantly, compared with the reduction of plastic shopping bags,” he said.

To Rick Perry’s climate scientists – Step up to the plate NOW!
Last night Perry was unwilling to name some of the thousands of scientists who refute climate alarmism. The media and the Gore-ites are now using that as proof Perry is weak/wrong on global warming science.
It is high time. It is high noon. The science and the facts are on Rick Perry’s side.
A public statement by these climate scientists now could bury the biggest scam the world has ever seen. Bury it for good.

I wonder if Dalton would be willing to look Ontario taxpayers in the eyes and come clean on the true cost of each green job “created” by his absurd energy policies. It might be a good debate question.
