  3. Argh! I’ve been pushing Michelle’s Princeton thesis on people for years. I’ve been pushing it on you people for years. Now suddenly it’s all “cool” to know about it. (See the Rick Perry thing nine posts down.)
    Anyway… more interesting to me than the dreary, incoherent race-obsessed whining is the fact that this woman cannot write coherently in English (or couldn’t back then anyway) and apparently didn’t even have the sense to get someone literate to proof-read this document for her. It’s not like she was a science major or anything – too busy with molecules to care about verbs, like – and she wound up in law school. Lawyers are supposed to be verbally skilled above most anything.
    Princeton. It’s astonishing. I am forced to conclude that she might not be very… bright. How bright might that imply that her husband, President Genius, is? (Have you known many people marry far outside their intelligence range?)

    Levin was nearly stunned to hear the hateful words coming out of the mouths of Cedric Richmond and Andre Carson, both members of Congress, both members the CBC, both saying horrible things that are completely untrue about the Tea Party. In fact after hearing what Richmond said, Levin posed the question as to whether Richmond is inciting violence.

  14. My reader tip: In case you haven’t heard, Jack Layton passed away last weekend and there was a small, dignified, private family ceremony at an undisclosed location.
    I suspect it was a simple, open-air service and Jack was given a green burial. You know, no expensive casket nor gas guzzling hearse. And besides, what with there being no God, nor any consequences for one’s life, that makes for short speeches and a short service. I’m sure a humble, man-of-the-people kinda guy like Jack wouldn’t want it any other way.
    Loved the way the NDP asked people to remember Jack by planting a tree, donating to the Canadian Cancer Society and switching off their TV’s on the day of his service. Class act that NDP!

    An AP reporter said that Obama might have ridden these expensive buses only one mile at each stop. Therefore, it wasn’t really a “BUS TOUR”! Obamaspent most of the “BUS TOUR” on an airplane traveling between stops. Itlooks like Obama has scammed the American people again……..with the help of the liberal media. It’s no damn telling just how much this “show” cost the American taxpayer.

    And don’t forget……..those brand new shiny black buses aren’t DRIVEN to the location where they meet Obama. Those buses are loaded up on one or more C-17s. Then, they are flown to the destination ahead of AirForce- AND!…….this is REPEATED FOR EVERY CAMPAIGN STOP. On this ‘bus tour’, the Prez will lecture the ‘little people’ on how they need to live within their means and cut-back! Remember when very recently Obama told that family man to GO BUY A HYBRID VAN when he said he couldn’t afford to fill up his truck???? Obama’s ‘carbon footprint’ must be as large as most cities by now.
    All of this on the taxpayer’s dime…..But remember, this is NOT a campaign trip – it is “Meet with the people” trip only! So that the DNC does NOT pay a cent for all of this.

  28. Fishing tip: For guys with cottages that fish a little and can’t keep minnows alive during the summer, look at the white 5 gallon bucket.
    It’s drilled with a bunch of holes. Put a rock in it with your live bait and sink it off your dock in deep water, they’ll keep for weeks. You can also use it under the ice during winter so they don’t freeze.

    I have written numerous times that Solyndra is a prime example of the foolish green schemes Barack Obama and his team have been promoting across America. Sadly, this promotion has been more than just Obama-like airy platitudes about moon shots and being world leaders. The taxpayers are on the hook for hundreds of millions of dollars that Obama extended as loan guarantees. The handwriting was on the wall even before Obama handed our money over as the firm’s own accountants warned that the company was in dire financial straits and was unlikely to continue as a “going concern.”

    In 1979 the Saskatchewan Teachers’ Superannuation Plan (STSP), created in 1930, was estimated to be short $1.29 billion. The government wanted to get out from under the liability of defined benefit pensions at the time and mandated that all new employees with the province would be enrolled in DC pension plans ….
    ….This left the old STSP plan stranded with retired teachers and active teachers who were in the plan before 1980. The shortfall in the plan has blossomed to over $4 billion from the original shortfall in 1979. Currently the plan has $900 million in it, pays out $ 300 million a year and will run out in about 3 years. At that time it will be come a pay-as-you go plan which will be the responsibility of the taxpayers of Saskatchewan.
    This shows the long term result of pensions and who will be ultimately responsible for them, taxpayers. When the plan was closed to new members in 1979 it was estimated to have a shortfall of $1.29 billion. Today it has a $ 4 billion shortfall …..
