My CBC Is…

CBC’s 75th anniversary slogan is “Yours to celebrate.” Plenty of celebrations are being scheduled for the anniversary, all of them designed to encourage audiences to express what the CBC means to them.
In that spirit, we’re asking you to help get the ball rolling in anticipation of the anniversary festivities. We’d like to hear what the CBC means to you, by asking you to complete the following sentence: My CBC is…

Heh.
Update: A CBC comments thread goes horribly wrong….

  1. My CBC is costing me too much.
My CBC is not watched by enough people.
My CBC is not MY CBC!

  2. Less and less relevant to me as there is more and more media choice.
    so
My CBC is not worth the money we spend on it.

  3. “My CBC” reminds me of a past slogan, “PetroCanada – it’s ours”. In either case, if it were mine, I would have a choice if I wanted to own (and pay for) the damn thing. I did not with PetroCan nor do I now with the CBC. Air Canada bled us dry for years and PetroCan cost us billions, but we finally got rid of both. CBC should be next on the bloc – er block.

  4. My CBC is for sale to the highest bidder.
No reserve. Would even accept one(1) dollar because that means we all would be receiving a $Billion+ dollars – every friggin year!!

  5. Virtually the only thing I watch on MotherCorpse is HNIC, and even that is a pathetic excuse for ‘professional’ broadcasting, being littered with technical glitches that no real television network would tolerate. Actually, I am rather pleased that they will only offer 12 Flames games this year, that means I can see more of them from actual professional broadcasters, without the little skips in the sound-track, with up-to-date scoreboards, and with knowledgeable talking heads.

  6. My CBC is an unaccountable, grotesque, charade of Trudeauvian lefty propaganda run by Separatists and low life Bolshevik dipshits, that the Government forces me to pay for.

  7. Said it all Sean, these CBC morons all worship at the corner of Turdough and Svend, and it has cost Canada trillions to continue to follow the moron with the high IQ? Turdoughs ways of stupidity and waste. In these times of budget cuts and growing up fiscally it is time that the “feel good” only to themselves CBC is sent the way of the Wheat board, the gun registry etc, while we’re at it take bilingualism and stuff it also, the frenchys have lived off all of us far to long, they’ve been like Simon on the old Frasier show, get lost Quebec you welfare bums you and the CBC add nothing to Canada but debt!

  8. My CBC hasn’t been watchable since “Country Hoedown”,(in which Torontonians pretended to be country folk.)
My CBC is a massive boondoggle for an elite community of untalented leeches.
Without Rex Murphy and Don Cherry,I’d never watch the damned thing.

  9. My CBC is outta my life, yet still costs me a bunch in taxes year after year after year after year ………………………………

  10. My CBC … is less informative and slightly more annoying than Boo Bah. (but is in a statistical tie with Teletubbies)

  11. The CBC is not ‘my’ CBC, it is however (gosh, so many descriptors):
    pathetic,
    laughable,
    a farce,
    incompetent,
    hopelessly biased,
    a national joke,
    a national disgrace,
    not ‘my’ CBC,
    and best of all…
    Going, going, go…

  12. My CBC is part of the schizophrenic CBC/Radio Canada duo. When I watch either one I remember how Russians used to read Pravda: whatever was printed, the opposite would be true.
My CBC is part of the suicidal dhimmihood which believes that by accommodating Islamic fascism we will be spared. Little Mosque on the Prairie is an abomination and a fraud, compounded by the fact that no Muslim women actually act on the show.

  13. My CBC is anti-conservative, anti-Christian, anti-free speech, anti-common sense, anti-Alberta, anti-traditional marriage, pro-mediocrity, pro-criminal/terrorist, pro-abortion, liberal progressive, politically correct, and a huge waste of tax dollars.

  14. My CBC is like a big CarBunCle on my fundament. It’s part of me but perhaps if I lance and drain it, it will go away.

  15. Isn’t the main benefit of the CBC, that it concentrates the sexually diverse in Toronto?

  16. The CBC should focus on providing balanced programming with NO commercials to the sparsely settled regions of Canada where the private sector broadcasters can’t provide service at a profit. It is wrong to use taxpayer funding to compete with the private sector in urban Canada.

  17. My CarBunCle is killing my common sense and needs to be lanced by Doctor Steve if I ever hope to recover from this pain in the back.

  18. My CBC gave up the old canard about serving remote areas since the invention of satellite TV makes their claim invalid. My CBC is gone dead and buried with its funding going to find and implement ways of reducing government bureaucracy.

  19. My CBC would be all it’s propagandists dancing with rope in a soft breeze.
I’m sick of my taxes going to fund leftist propaganda and the hate for anything not of the left.
The anniversary should be celebrated by shutting down the transmitters…and a huge apology to all those whose minds have been infected since 1964.

  20. My CBC doesn’t hide behind the words “Community Team”.
MY CBC’s journalists would own what they wrote.
My CBC is just Rex Murphy.

  21. I think they should have asked people to suggest a slogan. “Yours to celebrate” is a very wimpy slogan. Makes me want to cringe.
