All societies bear more boys than girls. [And the most nearly equal are the most primitive]
But from conception on more boys die, so since the advent of modern medicine, most societies have more women than men.
India has more MEN than women, but 40% of the population are under 15, and for this age there are more males than females in most countries.
Still, unequal “disposal” of females obviously occurs. But, even in India, there is great variation.
In Rajastan, there are about 600 female for 1000 male births.

Jordan pierces the problem with the Steyn here. Further, the insanity of China’s one child policy is not license to control women’s bodies. It would be one injustice layered upon another.
Due to the high numbers of sex selective abortions, BC and AB will not reveal the sex of of an unborn child. I don’t know about the rest of Canada, but these two provinces absolutely will not reveal this information.

So just to be clear, your position is that aborting a fetus because of its sex is definitely wrong, but aborting a fetus because you feel like it is a-okay?
