From the wedding of Prince William, Duke of Cambridge, and Catherine Middleton, here are the lovely pink faces inside and outside Westminster Abby singing the stirring and anthemic Jerusalem. (Words here.)

In a – humourous – nutshell:
“Obama’s biggest victory of the entire past year — his crowning achievement for the past twelve months in the most powerful office in all the world — is his celebrated triumph in successfully producing a common form of secondary identification.”
The Left “luminaries” have truly lost their minds! Washington Post writer, Dana Milbank, has penned a column in which he refers to Winston Churchill as a “simple thinker” and Neville Chamberlain and Barack Obama as “complex”.
Honestly, I’m not making this up! Please read it for yourself here.

OMG just heard on CTV news that The Star is going to endorse Jack tomorrow. I think that must mean I’ve crossed over and Walterate is the Secretary of Defense.

The Left demonstrates once again that it is full of hate and venom:
Leftie blog Think Progress says the southern states of Alabama, Mississippi, Tennessee, and Georgia deserved the tornadoes that recently killed over 300 people, because as “red states” they deny the existence of anthropogenic global warming.

Thanks for that EBD.
It was a pleasure for me early this morning to watch the sweet ceremony, but the special joy was to hear the name of Jesus, and Scripture, and know that it was being heard around the world with no apologies.
…and sorry about the double post.
The CEO of the National Black Chamber of Commerce has a few disparaging comments about the POTUS. Verry interesting…

I’m back to where I started. Let’s kick the 100 mile wide Quebec City to Windsor strip and the Lower Mainland out. Leave us alone! I can see the Tory’s with a Minority government and Jack winding up PM and I think I’m out. I want to pay taxes, I want roads, schools, even hospitals (privately run, perhaps publicly insured), but their is a line in the sand.
People, it’s not east vs. west. Or even Quebec vs. English Canada. But there is rural vs. urban thing.
I played hockey in N. Ont in the early 90’s and the people there were great. Like us they just wanted to be left alone to work in peace. When will city folk get it.
The poster Glenn from S.Ont and a couple from Vancouver get it but most don’t. They want my money and my rifle and give the money to people who think that killing an unborn child is okay.
Today on the radio the Western Separation Party said if Layton winds up PM with less then 60 seats they will dial it up and the West will be out.
As far as that idea goes, I’m in.
For the record I think that a stadium full of Canadians singing ‘God save the Queen’ at, say, the Grey Cup would be sight to behold. Especially if she was there.
Perhaps we should vote directly on a Governor General and suggest our vote to the Queen. This would replace the PM. Also, what about a EEE senate to protect geographical differences?
I was out taking photos this afternoon and captured one that perfectly fulfills this caption: How the Canadian Economy will feel if Jack Layton seizes power
RN200, I always knew The Star was corrupt. Now it’s clear they don’t care one whit about the nation or its future. Why do I suspect that if the NDP got into power, soon there’d be millions sent to The Star in one form or another?!
I started off being astonished by The Star endorsement, but I quickly realized that at the municipal level they always were Miller-ites and Jack-ee’s, so it’s quite natural for The Star to jump on Jack when their other “ride” is doing a very credible Hindenberg impersonation.
I think his chances just took a big droop.
Stirring and anthemic that Jerusalem certainly was! It’s 50-50 whether I forget Emerson Lake and Palmer’s go at it.

When I listened to that stirring hymn and watched as ordinary Brits outside the Abbey waved their flags and sang along, I could not help but think the future of that island realm is safe. These are a proud people who are not about to let foreign cultures displace their own. It had to be a discouraging moment for the plotters of the Muslim Brotherhood.

As an Englishman it is with relief that I see someone posting on this blog about my nation finally understanding the psyche of the British Nation.
Although the last government tried it’s best to use unwelcome immigration to allow them to destroy all the institutions that they did not believe in. (Our history, Monarchy, National Identity etc etc).
We now have a prime minister who understands what it is to be British and will act on behalf of the silent masses in our nation.
The two princes encapsulate what it is like to be a modern Briton and we are a proud people who although on the public front are largely a silent majority when the time is right you can see the patriotic fervour held by the most of us.
The current immigrants will be accepted into our culture however will not have the effect on our culture that most on this blog believe.
The British are always open to change however we will not tolerate unwelcome or enforced change.
To coin Churchills motivating words
“we shall defend our Island, whatever the cost may be, we shall fight on the beaches, we shall fight on the landing grounds, we shall fight in the fields and in the streets, we shall fight in the hills; we shall never surrender, and even if, which I do not for a moment believe, this Island or a large part of it were subjugated and starving, then our Empire beyond the seas, armed and guarded by the British Fleet, would carry on the struggle, until, in God’s good time, the New World, with all its power and might, steps forth to the rescue and the liberation of the old”
Time to juxtapose!

Ubi caritas et amor
Deus ibi est.
Where charity and love are, God is there.
Thanks EBD for “Jerusalem.” I did not recognize the hymn but it is beautiful. And so was the service, dignified and inspiring.
It’s wonderful to hear the Word of God so clearly proclaimed as the basis for marriage as God ordained it.
May the royal couple live happily under God’s richest blessing and guidance.
Thanks for Jerusalem, EBD, a defining moment, IMO, of this very British wedding ceremony. I believe there were a number of very powerful, subliminal messages being sent out in the choice of the Book of Common Prayer ceremony and in the choice of music. In this case, I believe the extremist Islamists were being put on notice: This is our island, this is our culture, now back off.
One camera shot I particularly liked was during the singing of God Save the Queen. The camera panned across an icon of Mary, Mother of God, aka Queen of Heaven, holding Jesus in her arms (@ the 44-second mark). Another message, if you ask me.

new definition of the word ‘mosaic’
harpers dot org/archive/2011/04/hbc-90008078
from the link:
“The documents show that government analysts fully acknowledged that 150 of the 779 prisoners at Guantanamo were civilians *UNINVOLVED IN ANY HOSTILE ACTIVITIES* (emphasis mine) who were picked up by mistake, but who wound up being held for years for vague or improper reasons. Among the revelations:”
so in other words, the americans in charge KNEW FULL WELL that 150 of the detainees had NO INVOLVEMENT and KNEW NOTHING about incidents and individuals under investigation.
but they were still kept locked up for years.
and the right wing clucks away about ‘war on terror’.
well why not just put the whole country behind bars and then run your precious little cross reference analysis? after all, when it comes to ‘war’ on ‘terror’ (who exactly are the terrorists here???) money is no object. neither is common sense.
at least when the american cystem finally tanks forever it will put an end to their billions of abuses. the sooner the better.
Wonderful spoof and expose of Margaret Atwood by Robert Fulford in the National Post this morning (“The herd of independent minds”):
… To understand Atwood, you must understand the Annex, a smallish district in west-central downtown Toronto, where you can find many fine Victorian and Edwardian homes, occupied mainly by residents with Victorian and Edwardian views, people of elevated taste who consider a serious interest in commerce to be just slightly vulgar. Atwood has lived there for many years. …

What Does the Royal Wedding Mean for Role of Monarchy in Britain?
http://www.pbs.org/newshour/bb/world/jan-june11/wedding2_04-29.html
(Possibly begging the question for Canada, but John Burns makes some compelling arguments for keeping the Monarchy — and points out the bogus claims that the Royals cost Britains/Commonwealth citizens a pile of cash — not so as compared to an elected leader. What he doesn’t mention is that the Monarchy brings in more revenues in tourist dollars than they cost the taxpayers.)
Sorry for all of these posts in succession. I’m leaving for the o-per-a soon! So, over and out …!
Finally, John Rutter’s anthem from the Royal Wedding, This is the day which the Lord hath made. Typical Rutter. I like it, others aren’t so enthusiastic.

‘Nothing, absolutely nothing like the sound of a men and boys’ choir. ‘Too bad women’s liberation (sic) hasn’t contributed to men’s and boys’ liberation — and is fast banishing from the liturgies in the Anglican Church in England and here in Canada this purity of sound. Just about everything the feminists have grabbed in their clutches is being destroyed and is falling apart.
Some liberation. How about women’s/feminists’ destruction of age-old, time-honoured institutions?

Black Chamber of Commerce CEO blasts “Marxist,” “brownshirt” Obama

BCC CEO admits he voted for Obama “because he was Black and says it was the worst mistake he made in his life.”
“Obama is dangerous”
I know Jack got caught with his pants down, and I know it won’t mean squat to the voters for the most part, anyone but Harper will be the meme. So I started thinking about the other smoking gun down south, Obama and his birth certificate. In 1961 Kenya did not exist, it was known as the British East Africa Protectorate. Just saying.
cappy-cap does it again. Why we’re all investors, and why he’s not investing anything while Obama is in.

Layton’s approach to Quebec includes some sort of Asymmetrical Federalism. I haven’t seen him explain what that would mean, in real terms.
