Why this blog?
Until this moment I have been forced to listen while media and politicians alike have told me "what Canadians think". In all that time they never once asked.
This is just the voice of an ordinary Canadian yelling back at the radio -
"You don't speak for me."

I agree, Kate. This mission has no defined purpose other than a vague mandate to protect civilians. The guys fighting Gadhafi (Khadaffi, Quadhafi or whatever) are basically civilians with guns. So are we taking their side?
Well, not necessarily. In his latest zig in his zig-zag pronouncements on this topic, Barry said the US is not necessarily seeking regime change and is not taking sides (despite having already bombed Libyan army units and munitions depots).
In reality we have sided with the rebels but we just don’t want them to win … unless they do. Which might make us happy. Or maybe not. What if the rebels are a bunch of Islamic extremists and we end up with a regime of these murderers on Europe’s doorstep.
This mission orginiated in a UN vote. When has the UN done anything militarily that does not end up as a cluster-f**k? The enduring lesson: Avoid UN missions like the plague. You would think after Bosnia and Rwanda Canadian governments would know this.
Tell that to McKay and Cannon (who still believes that recognition of Kosovo was the right thing to do).
Let the French and Brits fight for their oil…Or let them build windmills and solar panels…Return our fighter planes now. Get out of Afghanistan and any other Muslim/Islamic entity…Time for regrouping and Isolation to rebuild within our borders…Keep helping Japan though, the investment there is worth it.
North America must start exploiting it’s oil,gas and coal NOW: Create jobs…Get out of the Caliphate preparing ME…Get out of OPEC
North America’s #1 enemy: Corruption (And it’s winning big time right now)
We need aggressive, unapologizing, non corrupt PATRIOT Leaders who are business savvy and experienced:
Trump/Palin 2012 ?
I wonder if the pilots even get combat pay for these missions.
Best from their point of view to regard this as a
training exercise with live ammunition
and targets which can shoot back.
The Senate is calling him on his authority to start this in the first place. He is pulling out before they start talking impeachment.
“He is pulling out before they start talking impeachment.”
So, what are Canadians waiting for? Saving Barry’s “face”?
Screw him and the horse he rode in on. The Yanks, through their US mouthpiece, Ignatief and the Libranos Party, are attempting to prevent Canada from exporting oil sands crude to the world and reserving our resources for the USA’s exclusive use. Drill for your own you wankers!
Obama is no friend of ours, so why are we in Libya helping him and the very people “our” guys are shooting at in Afghanistan?
I’m just wondering how many former “PRO” Let’s Bomb Libya” people are coming late to the party just because America decided it was a bad idea, after the fact?
I still want Libya and entire Dar-al-Islam bombed, but on different terms and for a different reason.
As this mission is defined, +1 for pulling our planes out of it.
While we are at it, should drop a few on Moscow Kremlin, as it’s them who are profiting from the ME wars in the 1st place, and with their impeccable (cough-cough) ethics it would not be a stretch of imagination to suggest that FSB’s cold moist hand could be felt in the region every time oil price stabilizes or declines.
“Let the French and Brits fight for their oil…”
Forget them. Notice what the Italians have been up to while your attention was on Sarko and Cameroon:
