Next Media Animation is a Taiwan-based animation studio that churns out news clips on politics and celebrity gossip for Chinese speaking audiences. Since the animators and writers clearly tend to swallow whole and then regurgitate the inherent talking points of U.S. coverage, albeit in a more animated and iconographic way, their “reports” provide a – sometimes hilarious – window into the American mass media’s political biases. Here’s an NMA news/analysis piece called Is Sarah Palin gunning for 2012?.

Maine’s governor pisses off the NCAACP
“NAACP can ‘kiss my butt'”
http://politicalticker.blogs.cnn.com/2011/01/14/maine-governor-says-naacp-can-kiss-my-butt/#more-143069
Via American Digest.org, an essay/post by One Cosmos.
Excerpt:
“The reforms forced upon us by liberals not only produce unintended consequences, but unintended human beings and an unintended culture for them to feel comfortable in. In short, it produces deviant people who then require the very cultural circumstances that gave psychic birth to them in order to feel ‘normal.’
“Senior Raccoons will remember a time, not too long ago, that abnormal people in our culture actually felt abnormal. They were aware of their deviancy, and how this deviancy contributed to an unhappiness that no government has the power to eliminate.
“But under the guise of ‘tolerance’ and multiculturalism, we have deprived these poor souls of the feedback they need in order to know that they are not normal. This is not empathy, but cruelty — like shielding someone from a cancer diagnosis on the grounds that it will make them feel bad, but depriving them of the chance to fight it.
“In order to allow such people to feel normal in their abnormalcy, we have had to develop a deviant culture for them to live in, to such an extent that the normal are now made to feel abnormal.
“This is one of the hidden influences of the Tea Party movement, and more generally the effort to take our country back from the deviant. Not surprisingly, this is enraging the abnormals of the left, as witnessed, for example, by the weird attempt to suggest that normal people somehow caused the patently abnormal Jared Loughner to open fire on a bunch of normal people…”
The whole thing, titled “Revenge of the Ghouls: When Liberals Attack”, here.
“gunning” for 2012? “Gunning”? There goes that violent rhetoric again. Have we learned nothing from the last few days???
Hmmm. Interesting slant.
I’m amazed by how Palin drives people nuts. BoingBoing is going berserk today.
Speaking of Sarah Palin, yes, she is responsible for Tuscan:

But was she responsible for Tucson.
Loser Boy here again.
Regarding the Dire Straits/faggot issue, I suspected that there are many songs out there with the word in it, and sure enough there are. I tack the ones I found – no Rap! – onto the end of this CBC report (sorry about the excess Petey exposure lately).
Palin is the one person the American left fears most.
The polls show a steady downward trend in the number of people that believe Palin is somehow responsible for Tucson.
It may be that the left, believing their frenzied charge in ’08 was successful, are running with the same bulls* whenever possible. Palin, the picador, engages, enrages and obligingly injures the bulls bent on immolation.
Next act, Palin the matador.

Interesting discussion between Pat Caddell and David Horowitz about how the modern Democrat Party has become corrupted by Soros, SEIU, and an endless number of useful idiots … some of whom clearly troll here on SDA!

I just *knew* I should be afraid of Harper (and that Canadian media would have to try to milk the American debacle)
http://www.thestar.com/news/insight/article/922225–fear-and-loathing-in-ottawa
Use fear words much, Diebel? From the article:
self-censoring (due to “vicious personal attacks”)
“enemy of the party”
“fair game” (gun metaphors aplenty)
public servants, academics etc. don’t speak, they “fear repercussions”
“Harper is a super-partisan politician whose style has created a mood of fear and loathing on Parliament Hill”
“us versus them”
“control freak”
“mean-spirited.”
“people are paralyzed by fear”
“very dangerous environment”
“my way or the highway”
“I’ve never seen a climate of fear like there is now. People are frightened out of their wits . . . To tell you the truth, it’s goddamned scary.”
“Pure vengeance. I was targeted and it was a very creepy, lousy, cheap thing”
“There are two emotions that work in politics — hate and fear.”
I guess they think that if you say something often enough, it becomes true.
Regarding the Dire Straits/faggot issue:
‘Next thing you know, these freedom-hating, free-speech prohibitors will be banning White Christmas and The Christmas Song because “Christmas” offends someone.
One person is offended by one person in Newfoundland and that’s enough to send these idiots into paroxysms of misplaced guilt and angst?

….and Obama the Cuspidor!
Notice that Obama – who began his 2012 Election Campaign at the so-called ‘Tuscon Memorial’ (Together We Thrive)…is moving into a focus on education. Note this carefully.
He isn’t focusing on the economy. That’s because the economy requires specific fact-based policies and programs, it requires attention to the actual not rhetorical world. And Obama has no capacity to deal with facts and the real world. He functions only in the virtual world; the imaginary world; the world-of-words.
So, he’s now focusing on Education. Think about this. Education is as amorphous, emotional, future-oriented, speculative, fact-free…as Hope and Change.
Obama is Doing It Again. He’s campaigning in the Virtual World. This time, it’s within Education. Amorphous, vague, emotional..where the general words, vague policies, the hopes and emotional tears for the future..mean whatever the listener wants them to mean.
Pure Obama. Will it work?

Just too funny not to post:
Officers checking out one john’s complaint witness another about to be robbed
“Once outside and near the home, [officers] witnessed a sex act between an adult female and adult male occurring inside,” Zaharuk explained. “This sex act was interrupted by a male emerging from another area of the home armed with a weapon,” he continued. “The armed male began advancing toward the male engaged in the sex act.” That’s when police made their move, entering the home and arresting the man with the weapon and the prostitute.
Charges have not yet been laid.

“Let me explain. On October 3, 2001, the then finance minister, Paul Martin was a guest at a TAMIL EELAM Society fund raiser in Toronto. About that time, he announced in the Commons that the assets of a list of known terrorists organisations were to be frozen; but the TAMIL EELAM Society or other Tamil organisations were not named. It remains a mystery why this was so and Paul Martin to this day has offered no acceptable explanation. That’s past, now we come to the present.”

“Why Prof.Ignatieff is supporting anti India, anti Sri Lanka group ?

To Prof.Ignatieff and Mr.Donolo :
Professor,
I hope this note finds you in your best spirits and the new year bring glory and success that will shine on Canada and rest of the world. I’m writing to you today because I heard the very disturbing news that you are softening on the LTTE and reaching out to the Tamil separatists, which is not typical of you, especially to support the people who cheered the assassination of your friend Neelan Tiruchelvam and Indian Prime Minister Rajiv Gandhi. I think this is because you are getting wrong advice and I would like to put some fact for you to consider. I’m confident both of you will discuss and make the right decision
Prof, I understand you are speaking at the Canadian Tamil Congress thai pongal dinner on January 22nd, (a group that is anti Sri Lanka and anti Indians)despite being adviced not to do so. I hope you will take time to consider all the fact I have out together for you to review and make a wise decision to NOT attend the dinner. I remember this is what Hon.Paul Martin did with FACT(predecessor of CTC) and we know how the Conservatives used it attack the Liberals.
There is absolutely no reason you, as the Leader of the Liberal party should be seen engaging the CTC. ”
“7) Moderate Tamils and prominent Liberals who have been openly and viciously slandered by the CTC include among many key people :
1) Sugumar Ganesan – Chairman of Canada Sri Lankan Business Council (riding president of Maria Minna)
2) Kris Parthiban- Former Liberal Candidate and big time Liberal supporter
3) Mano Kangamany- LPCO staffer, Liberal staffer for Derek Lee and Michelle simpson for nearly 10 years
4) Vijay Sappani- Poliactivist and human rights advocate.
5) Sivam Vinayagamurthy- Liberal organizer in Mississauga
The List can go on and on , but these are credible, long time senior Liberals who have stood up against the LTTE mafia in Toronto and face the brunt of it.While these people have taken a principle stand against extremists and separatists in Toronto, often facing death threats, car tires slashed, windows broken from unknown miscreants, What do you think these people and other moderate Tamils do,if you attend the CTC dinner ? Are they going to drop their principles and continue to support you or will they disappear in the mist and no one will be there to defend you with the moderates, the majority 95% in the Tamil community.
So, Prof, do you and the Liberal party officially condone CTC attacking Moderate Tamils if not why are you speaking at their event ? Can you look into their eyes and tell them why you are endorsing the CTC’s activities ?”

Unequivocal Equivocation – an open letter to Dr. Trenberth
This essay from Willis [Eschenbach] appeared on WUWT overnight while I slept. After reading it this morning, I decided to make it a sticky at the top of WUWT (and added the open letter reference) because it says everything that needs to be said about the current state of affairs in climate science and the skeptic position.

Mcs? Another Mc from Canada.
We know the names McIntyre and McIttrick and their stellar work(s).
Now we can add another Mc to the above; now we have 3 Mcs.
Dr. Bob McMurtry.
Dr. Bob McMurtry may have brought down a Liberal-socialist government. Stay tuned.
More:
“How [Liberal-socialist] McGuinty’s windmill dreams became a nightmare”
“When Dalton McGuinty embraced wind power four years ago, it seemed he couldn’t lose.
Politically, his support for this infinitely renewable form of energy put the Ontario premier firmly on the side of the environmental angels.
Even more important, McGuinty’s Liberals pitched their commitment to wind as part of a comprehensive, green industrial strategy.
The government would not merely use wind turbines to generate electricity. It would also subsidize firms to build the giant machines for export.
In effect, windmills would be to the new Ontario what autos were to the old — the province’s economic driver.
Critics of the premier’s ambitious schemes were dismissed as cranks and nutters infected with a not-in-my-backyard syndrome.
To ensure that these self-seekers and know-nothings didn’t interfere with the government’s bold plans, Queen’s Park stripped municipal councils of their power to regulate wind turbines.
On paper, the plan seemed a sure winner.
But that was before Dr. Bob McMurtry.
McMurtry is neither a crank nor a nutter. An orthopedic surgeon and former dean of medicine at London’s University of Western Ontario, he is part of the country’s medical and political establishment.
He’s acted as a health advisor to the former federal Liberal government. In the early 2000s, he was a key advisor to Roy Romanow’s royal commission into Medicare.
McMurtry’s brother, Roy — a Red Tory and former attorney general — was Ontario’s chief justice for 11 years.
Bob McMurtry began as a strong advocate of wind power, keen to have a turbine built on the 16-hectare Eastern Ontario farm he bought four years ago for retirement.
As he explained in a telephone interview this week, he hoped to generate his own power and sell the rest to Ontario’s electricity network.
But being a scientific sort of chap, McMurtry began by researching the issue.
What he discovered alarmed him.”

Playoff time so I am watching the CTV feed of the NFL (steaks marinating). Is it just me but are those quick ads that CTV has with futuristic looking football players running past posters etc. of their primetime shows just about the dumbest thing you have ever seen?
Well I guess if you have never seen the predecessor- those dumb ads featuring their prime time show’s stars giving meaningful looks set to annoying music.
If it wasn’t for football I would hurl the TV off a cliff (oops sorry David S. take it to a proper appliance drop off centre)

Woman who trained Obama family’s dog dies at 52

WASHINGTON—Dawn Sylvia-Stasiewicz, the trainer who prepared President Barack Obama’s dog Bo for life as the first dog, has died.
Sylvia-Stasiewicz, 52, died Wednesday of respiratory failure at a Virginia hospital, her ex-husband Paul Stasiewicz said Saturday.
Sylvia-Stasiewicz initially had no idea the Portuguese water dog that arrived at her Virginia home two years ago was destined for life at the White House — an experience she described in a recent book.
This was on page 2 way back when;HARKEN BACK TO YESTERYEAR, and HYOH!! SILVER….:
happaqua – Christine Meyer, proprietor of Wags & Whiskers, the local pet grooming store, got the phone call at 7:30 a.m. yesterday.
Buddy, former first dog and a yearlong resident of Chappaqua, had gone to that great kennel in the sky.
The 4-year-old chocolate labrador was hit by a car Wednesday afternoon on Route 117, a busy two-lane road. He apparently bounded down the sloping cul-de-sac that has been home to the Clintons since last January in playful pursuit of a contractor who had just left the residence. He was pronounced dead Wednesday night at Chappaqua Animal Hospital.
“It was a little bit of a shock,” said Meyer, who gave Buddy a shampoo about once a month. She got the bad news from an employee as word spread rapidly in Chappaqua.
She remembered the dog as easygoing, unimpressed by frills.
“The only toy he ever wanted to play with was a ball,” she said. “A nice old-fashioned tennis ball. Nothing fancy. That was his thing.”
Former President Bill Clinton was often spotted with Buddy around town, as was one of Clinton’s personal assistants, Oscar.
Neither Clinton nor his wife, Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton, was home at the time of the accident.
Chappaqua police did not reveal the name of the driver who struck Buddy.
The Clintons issued a statement yesterday saying Buddy “was a loyal companion and brought us much joy.” The dog was given to the Clintons in late 1997 as a gift and named after the president’s great-uncle, Henry Oren “Buddy” Grisham.
Buddy had a famously acrimonious relationship with Socks, the first cat. When the Clintons left the White House, Socks went to live a peaceful, non-Buddied life with Clinton secretary Betty Currie, while Buddy moved to Chappaqua.
Neighbors, though, had only fond memories of the lab. At least one well-wisher pulled up to the Clinton driveway yesterday, condolence letter in hand, only to be rebuffed by a Secret Service agent.
Sheila MacWilliams, whose backyard abuts that of the Clintons, recalled how on Christmas Day, Buddy had been playing outside with her beagle, Chase.
“Everybody’s sad,” she said. “But it’s funny. A lot of people have been calling me … ‘Shouldn’t they have somebody watching the dog?’ I said, well, yeah. But we had an invisible [electric] fence and our dog shot through it and a truck hit it.”
Even Ron, the local mailman, said he had no beef with Buddy. Admittedly, their interactions were few – “I saw the dog once,” Ron said – because the Clintons’ mail is sorted and delivered separately.
“Buddy got along with everybody. Everybody liked Buddy; Buddy liked everybody,” said Meyer, the pet store owner. “He definitely earned his nickname.”
