Have a new “supporter survey” up. Fix bayonets!
Update: Survey “complete”! I must say these Friends folks are a quirky troupe – pulling their surveys down in the middle of the night, on a weekend.

Update: Survey “complete”! I must say these Friends folks are a quirky troupe – pulling their surveys down in the middle of the night, on a weekend.
They’re just as saintly as the CBC. It says “To ensure the security of our survey, please enter the email address at which you received an invitation to participate.” Good lord. Now we have to be invited to criticize the Ceeb? The size of this farce is reaching absurd proportions.
If anybody commenting here was privileged enough to be “invited” to complete the survey, it would be nice if you could save or transcribe a copy of all the questions. The very first one is a real beaut:
“The CBC is the one thing that helps distinguish Canada from the U.S.”
That pretty much describes their mission statement, doesn’t it. As more and more Canadians reveal via their blogs, etc. that they consider America to be a good friend, the CBC has to ramp up their anti-American hysteria.
Good grief. When are we going to cast this load of BS off of our backs and keep them out of our wallets?
My comments:
“The disgraceful attack on the prime minister in this politically driven, utterly garbage “survey” is an embarrassment. The question not asked was “Should the CBC be sold off for the ultimate benefit of the taxpayers”?”
Aviator, I presume you commented on their survey form, correct? There’s usually a space at the end of most surveys to do that. How did you get so lucky as to be “invited” to participate?
Boy, was this fun or what. Especially the comment box.
Louise, just click on “fix bayonets!”
I did click on fix bayonets. It’s the survey website where the problem is.
In order to ensure a fair and accurate result, all voters will be handpicked.
I repeat: voting will be by invitation only.
/:>°>
Louise – I thought I was having that problem too but it just wanted my e-mail address in the bar of the first set of questions. Maybe try that.
Ken – yes, it was fun.
There are a few “loaded” questions that I just didn’t answer.
Comments section was great.
I just logged in with my e-mail address. I only go there once a week so I’ll mark it as junk mail. In brief it’s Canada needs the CBC to save it do you agree or agree?
Show your support! Buy a bumper sticker!

My contribution:
The CBC is a make work project. It is 10,000 jobs that shouldn’t exist. It is the detrimental bias of Fox News, north of the border, spun so far left-wing that noone takes it seriously. Other newspapers lambaste you. More Canadians watch other news networks. You, Paul, are part of the cog of lies that is the CBC. You use democracy for nefarious purposes. How does this feel?
ie: On every issue, the CBC falls within the left-wing spectrum. No journalist with any sense of truth, integrity, or dignity works at the CBC. Canadians realize this, and have turned away. In droves.
What a joke of a questionaire. I wrote in the comments that if you sold the cbc for a buck you’d still make a hefty profit.
My comment:
“The CBC National news sucks!
Don Cherry – Awesome”

Okay, I take it all back. I was able to do the survey, but since I wasn’t “invited”, I’m sure they’ll discard my opinions.
And what is this fixation on “cultural sovereignty”? What a farce!!
Oh. And I copied all the questions into word and I’m going to rip them apart, one by one, on my blog.
I can honestly say, I’ve never before seen such a poorly constructed survey in my life.
My comments went along the line that they didn’t give the choice I was looking for. That choice being ‘burn the sucker to the ground and pee on the ashes’!
used my own email
the form accepted my input
sleazy survey and very politically biased
A lot of the “questions” are “heads I win, tails you lose”, and at other times they provide you with four arguably unrelated statements, leaving you to wonder which of the four statements you are supposed to agree or disagree with. One of the questions was:
“In Canada, Stephen Harper decides who runs the CBC. Harper appointed a President with no experience in radio or television broadcasting. Other countries leave the appointment decision in the hands of those with experience in broadcasting and radio. It’s time to take the political manipulation out of the management of the CBC.”
The first statement – “Stephen Harper decides who runs the CBC” – is an end run around the fact that it’s the sitting prime minister who decides, and we’ve had a lot more Liberal PMs than Conservative ones last time I checked. They say “Stephen Harper” instead of “the sitting prime minister” because “Stephen Harper” is a self-evident pejorative to the demographic they’re trying to load the survey with.
And how does anyone who is opposed to the CBC answer a question like “It’s time to take the political manipulation out of the management of the CBC”? The CBC’s news culture has been built on (Liberal, downtown Toronto-centric) political manipulation, so yes, the political manipulation should be taken out. But if a PM (Stephen Harper) tries to finally take the political manipulation *out* of this unethical and corrupt “news” bureaucracy, isn’t that precisely the “political manipulation” that the question is prompting you to oppose? It certainly is to the hyperventilating progressives who come up with such loaded question; they might as well have asked “Is it acceptable for the CBC news division’s ongoing political manipulation of our democracy to be subject to political manipulation from the enemy we all correctly identify as the Conservatives?”
It’s a dishonest joke of a survey.
“In Canada, Stephen Harper decides who runs the CBC.”
Yeah, gee, what an amazing coincidence that this man would subsequently be elected as PM…
My comment at the end was: “Several of your questions are quite loaded, as in ‘heads you love the CBC, tails you don’t loathe the CBC.’ ”
What a crock o’ crap that “survey” was, like the one Saddam Huseein did which found that he was much loved by 98.7% of his population!
I used one of their example email addresses to log in: joe@hotmail.com. It got me in so I suspect that all email addresses are scanned and those that don’t appear on the request list have their associated surveys rejected.
An honest survey on the CBC would be fun to fill out. Only one question is needed with one of the responses being “Get rid of it”.
Friends of the CBC are no friends of Canada or Canadians. They’re entitled, arrogant, SOBs and they’re really pi**ed off that Prime Minister Harper and the CPC are still in office and that l/Liberal fortunes are being upended.
I have no intention of doing their lousy survey; I’m glad others have done it and have let these jerks know what manipulative skunks they are. These guys have been entitled for so long and have done so well off the gravy train that they just can’t imagine a Canada that isn’t left/l/Lib.
They’re not in sync, however, with the majority of Canadians who are finally finding their collective voice — a voice that neither the CBC nor their supporters want heard. I imagine that the CRTC’s awarding SunTV a license has them really squirming and, unfortunately, it’s not below them to dissemble and hit below the belt.
‘You want to read some whoppers? Go to the Friends of the CBC Web site: http://www.friends.ca/ Examples of the BS?:
“FRIENDS serves as a watchdog on behalf of listeners and viewers (emphasis mine) … and “From time to time, we involve our supporters in non-partisan [emphasis mine] campaigns to fight for a strong CBC …”
Uh huh.
Anyone wanting to do the survey might consider using the email address of one Ian Morrison, “spokesperson” of Friends of Canadian Broadcasting: friends@friends.ca
Just in case they decide to discard those surveys that were not “invited” I entered the email address of a CBCophile I know.
Oh, Ward, you’re nasty. I love it.
I wonder if the CBC survey will suffer the same fate as the Scientific American survey did when readers of WUWT and SDA provided the greatest source of people taking the survey.
It wouldn’t surprise me if the email address was checked against a list of approved addresses and only those responses counted. I’m sure that the commies who support the CBC would consider this more “scientific”. Let them know in the comments that I am fed up with paying a billion dollars a year for the Canadian equivalent of Pravda; the only difference being is that Pravda is now far less left wing than the CBC.
Still, if someone has to actually read the comments and look at the non-approved survey answers they might start to realize how high an opinion of the CBC is held by the majority of Canadians. We can keep Don Cherry and Rex Murphy on when the CBC is dismantled.
Just saying, ya know, if you visit any CBC website there are lots of e-mail addresses for contact purposes. 😉
I posted this link in reader comments last night, but here it is again, vote in this CBC poll to tell them if you’ll be watching SUN TV:
http://www.cbc.ca/news/pointofview/2010/11/sun-tv-will-you-watch-the-new-network.html#pd_a_4152490
I left ‘mansbridge@cbc.ca’…..figured that is an automatic ‘friend’.
“Please share your comments on this survey….”
All it takes is one word:
Pathetic!
My Canada, doesn’t include the CBC.
My honest appraisal of the CBC ensures I’ll never be considered a friend of Canadian broadcasting. I feel blessed.
Here’s an article that appears to have been published in several smaller Ontario newspapers:
http://tinyurl.com/2alhvd5
“Let’s save money by turfing the CBC”
Lets see! We have “Friends Of Canadian Broadcasting” than the “Friends of Medicare”.
My favorite being the “Friends of Welfare”.
Heres some hot news. Your friends of none but yourself. Are all these bums just one face, or group of freeloaders?
Seems to me the more titles they get the more of our money to continue in the lifestyle they prefer!
It should be known as “The friends of Bums & Cons.
JMO
I put in a fake e-mail addy
After answering the second page this was displayed:
“This survey has been deactivated by the owner”
I guess they didn’t get the public opinion they were looking for. Try again tomorrow.
My comment:
“You’re an incredible joke. You send this survey only to those whose answers you’ve pretty much pre-approved. Wow. Nevermind how you sleep at night, why do you get up in the morning?”
Well. I guess SDA got results again
“Our survey is now complete. To contact us, please visit our website, http://www.friends.ca. ”
Bunch of beauracratic wussies…or teat suckers.
I told them they were themselves probably unaware of their one note leftist message and that stems from employing an overabundance of balding bearded squishes.
The questions were almost offensive with the degree of self importance. They assume they are the heart, soul and guardian of Canadian people. I told them they represented only Liberal and NDP Toronto.
I jst eneted one of my email addresses at the beginning then completed the snotty little thing.
My comment left in the survey:
Sell the CBC to the highest bidder right after telling Canadians how much Mansbridge is being paid!
I just used Justin Trudeau’s email address when asked who invited me.
S’cuse me while I wipe off my bayonet…..

“what is this fixation on “cultural sovereignty”?
Answer…
That’s the weapon of choice the left uses to knock down the walls of nationhood.
I fear the meanies at SDA broke the silly people’s question server.
One minute they had a manageable 123 leftie responses, the next 2000 crazed righties.
CBC banned me, I kept asking when they were going to open their books for an audit alas day after day I asked that question thusly they banned me.
Al at 10:14, at this time (12:15 Sunday) the survey numbers of the CBC poll as to whether or not you’ll be watching Sun TV are as follows:
Yes – 52.86%, No – 43.36%, Undecided – 3.78%
Guess they’ll be shutting down that one soon too.

Like the term “social justice”, cultural sovereignty has no meaning, or can mean anything at all. This is a feature, not a bug.
“Survey “complete”! I must say these Friends folks are a quirky troupe – pulling their surveys down in the middle of the night, on a weekend.”
Minitrue never sleeps.
It was fun peeing in their soup. The fun is increased by the thought that Survey Analytics is probably charging them on a per-unit basis. Lefties HATE it when you burn up their money.
A satisfying bit of hippie punching. ~:)
