The thatchy-browed Count vs. the toothless proles

Team Ignatieff (the Liberals) have released a mocking “Voluntary Conservative Census Form” that includes the questions “Are there any rooms in your house where you keep books? If so, why?”, “Have you ever had an independent thought? If so, please describe in details, and say where they/it occurred”, and “Would you agree that giving women the right to vote was a mistake?”
For those who might think that the party of those-who-deserve-to-rule might be mocking the Conservative Party, and not conservative voters, here’s a “senior Ignatieff official,” as quoted by Jane Taber:

“I don’t think they’ll reverse their decision (on the census). Once you throw a bone at Canada’s version of the Tea Party crowd it is hard to take it back.”

Let’s hope they keep it up. Every time our status-seeking, condescending, self-considered betters in the Bureaucrat Party insult millions of Canadians who refuse to acknowledge the Liberals’ innate superiority, they demonstrate precisely why so many voters, including former Liberal voters, have left these vaunted natural rulers parked by the curb.

  1. Yeah I had an independent thought. Pay back the thirty million you stole and disband the stinking party.

  2. Louise, etc., something very important may have happened recently in Ottawa that I missed: Harper replaced “affirmative action” criteria for federal public jobs with merit. Can anyone confirm this?

Is there a special version of the census long form for proggies on the Lieberal website?
If not, perhaps we should scratch one together.
Here are a few of questions to start it off.
    A. Was Anglo-Saxon 101 your most difficult university course?
B.How many times did you have to repeat it before you got a passing grade?
    C. Can you read Beowulf in the original? Do you have any other useful skills?
    D. When you meet with your former UCC classmates for the annual Labour Day party at the cottage do you converse in Latin or Classical Greek? Do you have any other useful skills?
    E. Can you change the oil in your Volvo all by yourself? Can you change a tire?
    F. Do you still work for Canada Post or have you graduated to social assistance?
It’s a start. Any more ideas?

  4. Are Iggy and Obama long-lost brothers? They’re both elitists out of sync with the majority of the voters.

  5. The libs gave most of our Federal Agencies police powers, think about that my fellow Canadians. The libs gave Revenue Canada police powers with no oversight or accountability, they gave Stats Canada police powers no oversight or accountability and finally they gave the CHRC more power than the police or military. These self same libs mock those of us who want the census decriminalized. Well of course they scorn us they’ve turned the Civil Service into an arm of the police and now it’s become the Penal Service where snivel servants can abuse us at will. The libs want the people to answer to the state or they’ll use their police powers to silence us, the libs do not view the snivel services as accountable to the court of public opinion. The libs have created a new super Penal Service agencies that answer to no one, not even our politicians.

    G. Are you able to do any of the following:
A human being should be able to change a diaper, plan an invasion, butcher a hog, conn a ship, design a building, write a sonnet, balance accounts, build a wall, set a bone, comfort the dying, take orders, give orders, cooperate, act alone, solve equations, analyze a new problem, pitch manure, program a computer, cook a tasty meal, fight efficiently, die gallantly. Specialization is for insects.

  7. Liberal cencus form:Do you have any money left in your account and what is the account number?
Are you a convicted criminal and not a Liberal and if so,why not?

  8. Liberal census form question: How many abortions have you had, and if you haven’t had any why the heck not?

  9. That is a great quote by Heinlein. Three things left to do, one of which I’d rather leave for a while.

  10. I got the long form years ago and spent twenty seconds to confirm there was one person at that address and sent it back. Months later, I was threatened with jail time. I grabbed my jacket and said “Let’s go.” They backed off. Next census (for some reason it was only 5 years later) my phone rang late one night. It was a nice government fellow who said he’d been assigned to help people like me fill out the long form and how about if he read the questions and answered them for me and if I had any comments or corrections I could speak up. I said “People like me? How many are there?” He paused and said “496 or so, coast to coast.” I told him to go ahead and listened without adding a syllable. At the end I said, “That’s it? Okay goodnight.” He couldn’t help himself. “You’re all the same,” he seethed, “every one of you” and he slammed the phone down. I wonder if they still provide that helpful service.

  11. They’re right about it not being funny.
It’s amazing that they don’t realize how much this kind of sneering, p*ss-ignorant adolescent arrogance will alientate potential swing voters; as EBD said, let’s hope they keep it up.

  12. Are you too intelligent to donate to the Liberal Party?
Do you think consensus for the medicore but expensive is Leadership?
    Are you easily manipulated?
How many times with your Liberal Arts Degree have you said ‘Would you like fries with that?”
Have you read Atlas Shrugged? Do you think 1984 is your IQ?
    This is too easy.

  13. Boos429: be comforted in the fact that Canada has more firearms per capita than the United States.

  14. Looks a lot like another “Beer and Popcorn” moment the CPC should capitalise on as far as I am concerned.

  15. Yea that’s funny, I’m beside myself, really.
You got that money you stole from us Chuckles?

  16. Kursk – does she really? Well between that, and the awesome Mantracker news, and the fact that the Canadian Head of Government is now way to the right of the American Head of Government, I feel considerable pride. And terror.

  17. Them thar libralls sure nuff no how to woo a vote outa us morons.
Ridikool our opinyuns, that shud do it.

  18. Maybe someone might give the Liberals a clue: make fun of the electorate, you don’t get in.
On second thought, scratch that. I don’t want to see those back-stabbing, self-congratulatory thieves ever again.

  19. Set you free:
Are you kidding? BHO never stayed at one job long enough to become a professor. At best, he was a lecturer and senior lecturer.

  20. nick at 2:07 PM: “Can anyone confirm this?”
    ===================
They’re looking into it, but nothing has come of it yet. Of course, there’s howling from the usual suspects who have built there careers on creating and exploiting the perception of racism in this country.

  21. “I don’t think they’ll reverse their decision (on the census). Once you throw a bone at Canada’s version of the Tea Party crowd it is hard to take it back.”
Hmmm just like Income Tax, CPP, Old Age Security, “economic development agencies”, funding for special interest groups…..

  22. Here’s some census questions to ask admited Modern Liberals:
    1. Do you live alone or in your mother’s basement?
    2. Have you ever held a job that wasn’t a government subsidized job or a government grant provided job?
    3. Have you ever held a job, being a student is not applicable.
    4. Do you know what a moral compass is, and if so do you have the ethical ability to find said compass?
    5. Do you believe the snivel service should have police powers and should they be above the law?
    6. Do you think hurt feelings are a persecutable punishable offense?
    7. Have you ever held a job where you were not an activists or a peacenik or an anarchists?
    8. Do you hate Canada and her culture?
    9. Are you a Liberal supremacists who believes the state should imprison people who refuse to submit passively to the state?
    10. Do you think Canada should abolish elections and allow Snivel Servants to appoint a ruler for this nation?
    End census.
The following blank lines are made available to you to snitch on those neighbours/coworkers/family who may offend you or is likely to offend you in future. Your privacy is assured, their rights will not be protected comrade have no fear.

  23. What I’d like to know is exactly where Iggy’s Liberals got the idea to throw the so-called epithet “Tea Party” at conservative supporters.
Getting more advice from U.S. PR firms, are we?

  24. Hope the Conservative party sends a copy of this parody out with the next fundraiser. Should be worth a couple mil.
Me, a tea partier? – i should hope so!

  25. Yup, the Liberals have figured out how to get voter support: make fun of our fellow Canadians, ridicule them, let them know you think they’re a bunch of stupid, uneducated, bigoted proles. Yup, that’ll endear you to them.

  26. I have approx. 300 books in the room I’m in right now. They engulf the decor. The only thing that makes the whole collection Liberal unfriendly is the collection of ethical philosophy books. Oh, and there’s a copy of the Wealth of Nations and the Bible.

  27. As I was reading this I recalled that today’s Toronto (Red) Star’s headline is: “10 hour ER wait claimed as victory”. That’s the Red Star, in the bag for the Liberal Party since paper was invented.
    Keep talking boys, keeeeep talking.

  28. Grit census form:
How many abortions have you had: one? two? three? four? more?
Have you procured an abortion for an African woman?

  29. Andrew @4:10 – you’re so right. It’s once the left gets a “bone” that you never get it back.

  30. Definitely Iggy’s beer and popcorn moment and this form should get as much publicity as possible. People just love getting talked down to by their self-appointed superiors. Note to the lieberals: there isn’t a Canadian TEA party yet, but keep up what you’re doing and we’ll have a big one in short order. Most people on SDA would likely go to a Canadian TEA Party rally if it was held close to where they live and insulting most of the people all of the time is a great recruiting tactic. Does PMSH have a mole in Iggy’s campaign team?
That was a great quote by Heinlein; just curious what proportion of lieberals can do even a fraction of the things that an independent human being should be capable of.

  31. Nick and Louise. When I worked for RevCan I volunteered to sit on the Employment Equity Committee in our local Tax Services Office.
Quite frankly it was 50% out of curiousity and 50% for a lark. I was not disappointed.
It had to be the most confusing time I ever spent in my life. I cannot begin to explain it.
I was finally asked to leave as I didn’t “fit in”.
As far as I know, I am the only person in history to have been dismissed from an Employment Equity Comittee.
I’m rather proud of that achievement.

  32. All questions are within a legal time limit-2yrs.

c] Is TigerWoods a success or a failure?
d] When 2 dogs are copulating are you inclined to interrupt or would you prefer to join in?

  33. Well, now, we (right-wingers) do make fun of lefties from time-to-time, so I think we should be able to dish as well as take. They are kinda funny. The natural response to the book one is: “No time to read books, we’re busy running the country and winning elections”.

  34. G. Have you ever signed a petition calling for the banning of deadly di-hydrogen monoxide?

  35. Have you ever taken and spent somebody else’s money and not felt guilty about it?
Have you ever been a bully? Where did you live when you were employed by Air Canada?

How much do you love Obama: More than Trudeau, same as Trudeau, not nearly as much as Trudeau

  38. soccermom; Given the current made-up crisis, I suspect that it would be Jedi, especially since it seems to be the fastest growing religion in Canada.
