Read and wonder….
Obama analyzed and integrated Einstein’s theory of relativity, the Heisenberg uncertainty principle, as well as the concept of curved space as an alternative to gravity, for a Law Review article that Tribe wrote titled,”The Curvature of Constitutional Space.”

Stuff like that really lowers ones opinion of academia. A Pseudo-intellectuals is now the nominal leader of the free world. The guys in university with good haircuts are currently running the white house.
I don’t think that Obama appreciates either the gravity of the situation or the divisiveness of the politics of Tribe.
The book “Intellectual Imposters” by Alan Sokal and Jean Bricmont discusses this type of academic pretension in depth. An entertaining read. My favourite is where one “scholar” describes Newton’s Principia Mathematica as a rape manual.
At first, I thought this was parody, something similar to Iowahawk’s blog. Alas, it’s not. It underscores how ignorant politicians and academics in non-scientific disciplines are regarding basic scientific concepts. As it’s said, a little knowledge is dangerous.
This link needs to be disseminated to other blogs such as Glenn Reynold’s Instapundit.
My dear grandfather told me one day on his farm, coming in from a cold january day with an arm full of wood for grandma’s stove, who was ready to make a nice batch of bread to go along her yummy oven baked bacon and molasses beans. Their radio had some politician spewing claptrap nonsense:
“These breath soap bullshiters with their pressed suits and fancy words are going to destroy the world eventually…”
Words of wisdom, Gramps…R.I.P.

Anti-Eureka!! Anti-Eureka!!
Benjamin Franklin needs to be raised from the dead, and taken directly to the White House to give Obama a face palm to the forehead.
These daily revelations of BO gaffes and inadequacies, which will probably continue unrelentingly until Nov. 2012, seem like just so many wasted nails on an already failed POTUS.
BO was a failed POTUS the moment a vast Fed-orchestrated cover up was put in place to stop judicial scrutiny of his citizenship. The Wall Street treasury pundering, Bankster bailouts,BO motors, Fed Reserve fraud and Gulf disaster were just demonstrations of just how inept and controlled he is.
Disempowerment by Nov. 2010 is a certainty and eviction from the White House Nov 2012 is imminent. It’s almost like it’s impossible to hurt this failed POTUS’s credibility any more.
Eyes should now turn to Michell who is a Hillary clone and a manoeuvering political animal determined to grasp a post-BO senate seat and a future Dem cabinet post.
The USA is on the verge of an intellectual and perhaps physical civil war. As Chris said, one thinks these actual happenings on the left are parody because they make so little sense, but the left will defend them to the end. How do you settle differences peacefully with dialogue when there is no common language? No common facts? Truly like talking to Martians.
I believe there are some dark days ahead for the US of A. I hope we are able to avoid the maelstrom.
Well, the soft-headed “sciences” have often been criticized for lack of rigor, but this is ridiculous.
Besides, every physicist knows Einstein repudiated Heisenberg until the day he died.
Thanks for the book tip Rabbit.
For an interesting read, look up articles about “cargo cult science.”
Based upon the “cargo cults” of primitive tribes who would mimic airfield operations in hopes that it would make planes land with cargo, there is much in the “scientific” community which mimics science. Unfortunately, it DOES produce cargo from government so they keep up the ritual.
For his next trick, Obama will invent the Heisenberg Compensator so we can replicate resources and transport things through time and space. I hope he has a transporter accident and we get the Obama with a beard.
Hmmm… it’s becoming clear why Kagan blocked BHO’s Harvard activities/performance from inspection, and why they are zealously shrouding The One from close inspection.
Another case of the emperor having no clothes?
Don’t laugh!
Someone had to inspire James Cameron to make AVATAR.
David Suzuki
POWinCA:
I expect a fly will inadvertently get into the Heisenberg Compensator with Obama, and they will exchange DNA. After a careful reading of the constitution it will be discovered that the founding fathers had not anticipated this eventuality, thus leading to a constitutional crisis.
Unfortunately, contemporary liberalism has become unhinged from logic, reason and core principles. As a postmodernist philosophy, there are no absolute truths, truth is only what you want it to be. This way of thinking opens vast new avenues of research and publication opportunities for academics, particularly in the social sciences and increasingly some of the physical sciences such as climatology. Surely, logic and reason will win out in the end but it hasn’t happened yet.
What everyone needs to know is that a law degree is considered the equivalent to a degree in every other field of study. Obama has a law degree, therefore, he also has degrees in Physics and Mathematics.
Sarcasm off.
If you closely examine Kagan’s publication record, she frequently published in the journal owned and operated at the law school she was presently employed at.
Her CV is already thin, and it appears she got some papers pushed through the Good Ol’ Liberal system.
It’s well-known that Nobel Laureates and other prolific researchers coauthor papers with their grad students and get major journals to accept them to increase the street cred of the minion. It’s also well know that the geniuses of the profession can get a bad chicken soup recipe published in a scholarly journal based on reputation alone. If you thought the greenhoax effect journals had a poor and biased peer-review system, it’s only the tip of the iceberg. Academia is a leftist mutual admiration society and they have the government grants and Nobel Prizes to prove it.
University was so much cooler back in the days when fights broke out in Latin over the nature of prime matter.

That “physical” conflict you speak of might start on the Arizona boarder. What happens if the Feds send troops to protect the Mexicans from the home-grown militias? The right side better win that “civil war” else history will paint those that wish to protect the boarder as racists. We already know what the history teachers think.
Regarding BO,and academia: is there anything else to say that already hasn’t been said?
Obama lives in a Virtual world of his own authorship, a world unconnected to the objective hardness of external reality. Obama’s Virtual world is whatever he says it is; for that day and time. That’s postmodernism; it’s also the mark of a pathological liar.
The Sokol hoax and book outline some of the cases of postmodern nonsense – and Obama’s participation in this paper shows that he rejects reality and focuses only on words.
Indiana Homez – that’s an interesting suggestion. Apparently, the federals are sending some troops down to the border and some have suggested (see Malkin’s column) that this might not be to assist Arizona. I can see, as part of Obama’s political tactics, that his guys would assist the Mexicans! He needs the hispanic vote this fall.
“We are fighting in Afghanistan to make America safe for illegal immigrants.” – Borat Obama.
This type of pseydo-intellectual psychobabble is the stuff that Iggy is made of – which exactly explains why he won’t ever win a Canadian federal election.
One might speak metaphorically of the “curved space” of constitutional law, but not in reality.
You can blame the Kant-Hegel anti-intellectual cult for this lunacy too. Ever since Kant divorced reason from reality, it was all systems go for those who discarded reason. Thus when Hegel spoke about Spirit, Idea or Mind, taking the human capacity to think as a stand-alone entity divorced from actual humans, he substituted metaphor for reason. This was a philosophical disaster that ultimately led to the evils of Nazism and communism.
It may sound implausible on the face of it but unfortunately, I’m not kidding.
This is scarier than I thought. Will this paper by BO’s equivalent to Mein Kampf? Dr. F. Tipler has written a devastating critique of the paper (lost the link unfortunately) and one great line in the paper is:
Those who can’t count don’t count
One of the ways of determining whether a given paper is valid or BS is to perform a statistical analysis of the wording and grammar and create a random paper generator (usually Markov chain based) and see if the result is distinguishable from the original paper. If one takes a well written scientific paper, then the randomization procedure produces garbage. However, when one takes a paper written by someone who uses the terms “post-modern” or “post normal” a lot, then the randomization produces a result which sounds a lot like the original paper. Often the randomized paper makes a lot more sense than the original.
One of the philosophers that I found incomprehensible in my undergrad days was Hegel. I figured that maybe when I’d developed further intellectually and had more time (former happened, latter never) I’d understand Hegel. Turns out that Hegel was the first post-modernist philosopher whose work is pure BS. Considering that Marxism is based on Hegel, suddenly a lot of things make sense. It makes me very glad that my subconscious BS detector steered me away from Hegel and towards Polanyi, Descartes and Neitzche. (The insight on Hegel came from Nasim Taleb’s Fooled by Randomness)
We’re in for some very interesting times ahead as those who are believers in the strict interpretation of the US constitution come into conflict with the “relativists”. I’m glad that those who strongly believe in the 2nd Amendment back up their beliefs by owning lots of guns.
Oops, proofreading error. The line should be:
Will this paper be BO’s equivalent of Mein Kampf?
