Thanks Gord Tulk – Proof that Global Warming enthusiasts can be a danger to Ranger and harmful to all the other pussies out there.
These guys needn’t have rehearsed to do this, they were born to do it. The only down side was seeing Billie but not hearing her.
Lames Lovelock, revered old environmentalist-scientist guy who came up with the “Gaia Theory”, which is apparently a big deal, says: “I have a feeling that climate change may be an issue as severe as a war. It may be necessary to put democracy on hold for a while.“
And he’s one of the less bad ones, sort of. Of Climategate, he says: “Fudging the data in any way whatsoever is quite literally a sin against the holy ghost of science.”

Re: EBD’s comment on last night’s “Reader Tips” about my liking (or disliking) classical music.
Years ago, I got caught racing on the highway with my Dodge Dart 340 4V dual exhaust. I was racing a Nova 350 4V–I was ahead until the RCMP highway patrol foiled our plans.
We couldn’t afford the fines, we didn’t want jail, so the judge gave us a fine option program, that was relatively new back then. The guy in the Nova had to cut trees for the city, I chose to work in drug-alcohol rehab centre. Trust me–$1000 is s a lot of money at $3.50 per hour.
That was in the heyday of LSD, or “acid” as it was known back then. These guys (acid heads) would come in off the street, they were so spaced out they couldn’t tie their shoes or crack an egg.
My job was to wheel the crippled ones in their chairs, and entertain them by playing crib. They all talked like EBD. They knew everything about everything, they loved to humiliate people around them, and yes, a lot of them loved classical music. Of course I was just a country hick, none of them liked country music, and I really didn’t care because I was just there to pay off my fine.
This one “a-hole” came in the centre three times. He was always talking about pie in the sky dreams and yes, classical music. On the fourth try, he left the centre one night and drove his Triumph into a 36 inch poplar tree. The steering post and his skell were one and the same. Sweet dreams EBD!

Under the laws passed by the US federal government, corporations are required to immediately restate their earnings to the SEC and stockholders any time their liabilities take a new hit, including health care liabilities. Some big corporations have already done so. But that contradicts the “New Truth” of expanded coverage and reduced costs. So it is off to congress to do some SPlaining how they could be so rude as to report the facts. Yikes!
“It’s been a banner week for Democrats: ObamaCare passed Congress in its final form on Thursday night, and the returns are already rolling in. Yesterday AT&T announced that it will be forced to make a $1 billion writedown due solely to the health bill, in what has become a wave of such corporate losses.
…
Commerce Secretary Gary Locke took to the White House blog to write that while ObamaCare is great for business, “In the last few days, though, we have seen a couple of companies imply that reform will raise costs for them.” In a Thursday interview on CNBC, Mr. Locke said “for them to come out, I think is premature and irresponsible.”
Meanwhile, Henry Waxman and House Democrats announced yesterday that they will haul these companies in for an April 21 hearing because their judgment “appears to conflict with independent analyses, which show that the new law will expand coverage and bring down costs.”

Joe Citizen – Try not to take everything so personally, you, like me, are just a name on the screen..The trick is to wait quietly for the first time EBD trips up, or says something dumb (he does you know?), after all, revenge is a dish best served cold. And think about it, would you really want to be as nasty as you perceive him to be? On second thought, don’t answer that question!
weather: The state of the atmosphere at a given time and place, with respect to variables such as temperature, moisture, wind velocity, and barometric pressure.
whether: Used to introduce alternative possibilities
Thanks larben. Are you referring to EBD as in “Elementary Brain Disorder?” I’ll try and remember that.
oh really Joe Citizen, what’s the point? seriously, a swastika yesterday and today “elementary brain disorder”? let it go.
Plenty of folks make comments regarding things they don’t care to read, or things they don’t agree with after reading them, you don’t need to carry this in your pocket all day.
I think that the Reader Tips idea is to have a forum for the sort of media event that is not covered so much in the msm, that’s seeded by a musical selection, not everyone (myself included) loves classical music or Jerry Lee Lewis, nobody forces us to watch the seeding of Reader Tips, nor to comment that there’s been a terrorist bombing in Moscow, as that’s well covered without obvious bias in the msm.
let it go.. breathe.

Well, thank you very much, Joe! But you’re taking my comment way too seriously. It wasn’t a personal attack; the only point I was making was that there are thousands of visitors to SDA every day, and not every one of them feels compelled to chime in every time they don’t like a particular piece of LNR music. Why would they? If you don’t like a particular selection, fine, I’m just pointing out that your verdict isn’t of *daily* interest to everyone else. If you don’t like it, don’t watch it.
Here’s my reader tip: the federal government has just given a bit of money to a Canadian magazine for horse lovers.

“First blog faces censure by PCC
Former Radio 4 Today editor Rod Liddle has become the first journalist to have an online blog censured by the press watchdog.
A complaint was upheld by the Press Complaints Commission after the writer and columnist claimed on the Spectator website that the “overwhelming majority” of violent crime in London was carried out by young Afro-Caribbean men.
Stephen Abell, director of the watchdog, said it was “a significant ruling” to make against a newspaper or magazine blog for inaccuracy.
A reader complained after Liddle wrote in December that “the overwhelming majority of street crime, knife crime, gun crime, robbery and crimes of sexual violence in London is carried out by young men from the African-Caribbean community”.
Mr Abell said: “This is a significant ruling because it shows that the PCC expects the same standards in newspaper and magazine blogs that it would expect in comment pieces that appear in print editions.
“There is plenty of room for robust opinions, views and commentary but statements of fact must still be substantiated if and when they are disputed. And if substantiation isn’t possible, there should be proper correction by the newspaper or magazine in question.”
The article breached Clause 1 (Accuracy) of the Editors’ Code of Practice, the PCC concluded.”

“Mr. Ignatieff doesn’t have a clue how to change the Liberals. He doesn’t even have a clue about where to find the middle of the road. He thinks Canadians care about Afghan detainees. (They don’t, although they care very much about democracy, and they don’t like to see Parliament snubbed.) He seems to think Canadians are overwhelmingly supportive of abortion. (They’re not. Sixty per cent, including a number of Liberal MPs, think it’s morally wrong.)
“Meantime, Mr. Harper is steadily shrinking the role of federal government, beneath the radar, without debate. He is quietly transforming Canada into a more private, more regional, more entrepreneurial country, with more prisons, less shared purpose, and health care that is fragmenting into many different variations. We really ought to talk about this. But Mr. Harper isn’t about to bring it up. And Mr. Ignatieff has no alternative to offer.”

General Stanley A. McChrystal, the commander of US and Nato forces in Afghanistan, has found an unlikely adviser in the continuing struggle against the Taliban. maineman, I do not lament our imperfections and I am thrilled that the resources now available give us a better chance at digging the truth out of the dirt.
I’m willing to get my hands dirty and work hard for it.
What I do lament, however, is that there are those who are intent on stealing truth. On gang raping it. On subverting it at every turn.
And those folks have the entrenched vehicles for disseminating it in mass quantities. That is a threat to our nation, our system of self-governance, of everything we hold dear.
I don’t mind debating a different worldview. If one does so with an open mind, BOTH points of view usually expand.
When one side resorts to lies, distortion, fakery, and actively suppresses facts and evidence, it is not debate, it’s fraud. It’s cheats the process.
When one engages in a criminal enterprise to cheat the truth and to openly lie to people about nearly everything, it’s systemic intellectual warfare.
I believe, maineman, that “issue spotting” is no longer enough. It is not enough to say “oh, there they go again…we caught them”. There is a sepsis of lies and distortion that has metastasized within our body politic. We have to stop treating the symptoms. The disease is raging and rampant.”
