Gaining strength….
ROBERTS: Former Vice President Gore, it’s great to catch up with you again.
GORE: Thank you.
ROBERTS: Thanks so much for coming in.
GORE: My pleasure. Thanks for having me. Thank you, Kiran.
ROBERTS: Good to see you.
CHETRY: Thank you so much for answering the questions from our viewers as well. There’s a lot of interest in this. Thanks a lot. Well, still ahead, it’s three minutes past the hour. We have a look at the top stories right now. Winter still two weeks away, but snow plows are out from the plains to the Northeast. A monster storm paralyzing travel in more than a dozen states. Extremely dangerous, blizzard-like conditions and blizzard conditions themselves forecast for parts of the Midwest. Mix of rain, sleet, and heavy snow from New York all the way up to New England.

Thanks for this, Kate. I just forwarded the link to a friend in Chicago, laughing my a$$ off!
Finally ! Someone has the balls to Take on Fat Albert.
[Palin took to her Facebook page late Wednesday to respond to Gore.
“Perhaps he’s right. Climate change is like gravity – a naturally occurring phenomenon that existed long before, and will exist long after, any governmental attempts to affect it,” Palin wrote. “However, he’s wrong in calling me a ‘denier.’ As I noted in my op-ed above and in my original Facebook post on Climategate, I have never denied the existence of climate change. I just don’t think we can primarily blame man’s activities for the earth’s cyclical weather changes.”
Palin then turned her response to the so-called “Climategate” story as evidence that scientific findings are “flawed, falsified, or inconclusive.”
“Former Vice President Gore also claimed today that the scientific community has worked on this issue for 20 years, and therefore it is settled science,” Palin wrote. “Well, the Climategate scandal involves the leading experts in this field, and if Climategate is proof of the larger method used over the past 20 years, then Vice President Gore seriously needs to consider that their findings are flawed, falsified, or inconclusive.”
ZING !!
“Vice President Gore, the Climategate scandal exists,” she added. “You might even say that it’s sort of like gravity: you simply can’t deny it.”] Politico

Ha! Instantaneous juxtaposition, brilliantly exposing the fraud spewed by the Goracle.
Al Gore is a dirty lying bastard. I just don’t know how else to put it. 43 percent of atmospheric CO2 is man-made? I knew “Inconvenient Truth” was full of lies and gross exaggerations, and he’s still doing it live on CNN. How can anyone on this earth be STUPID enough to take this scumbag seriously about anything?
Because it has become a religion, where it is all about faith, belief, and emotion.
Welcome to the environazi movement.
Facts are optional, but faith is all important
DanBC — well said, and this analysis applies to most “progressive” causes. Check the facts at the door. Only emotion and feeling are allowed.
If we have one of these we will be firing up all the CO2 we can muster, or drilling into Al Gores million degree earth. what a complete buffoon he is.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Little_Ice_Age
Al Gore has been forced out of his cocoon, his comfort zone.
He is terribly exposed. Out of his element. Naked without his teleprompter. Vulnerable to simple questions, now that they are allowed.
On CNN; ‘the emails mean nothing, the science is settle – just a few ten year old emails’, he claimed, on three different occasions, no less.
But the CNN interviewer, bless his soul, shot back; ‘the latest email is only a month old’.
Gore looked stunned ! Nobody talks to The Messiah like that !
Well, someone just did – and millions saw it. And millions cheered.
U.S. Sen. James Inhofe has pointed out, that “for more than 100 years, journalists have quoted scientists predicting the destruction of civilization by, in alternation, either runaway heat or a new Ice Age.”
Believe it or not, over the last century America’s major media have predicted an impending global climate crisis four different times – each prediction warning that entire countries would be wiped out or that lower crop yields would mean “billions will die.” In 1895, the panic was over an imminent ice age. Later, in the late 1920s, when the earth’s surface warmed less than half a degree, the media jumped on a new threat – global warming, which continued into the late 1950s. Then in 1975, the New York Times’ headline blared, “A Major Cooling Widely Considered to Be Inevitable.” Then in 1981 it was back to global warming, with the Times quoting seven government atmospheric scientists who predicted global warming of an “almost unprecedented magnitude.”
Today, to cover all their bases, much of the press is changing its terminology from “global warming” to “climate change” or “climate catastrophe.” That way they’re covered either way: If the world gets colder, global warming is still at fault.

Gee; I think we need Dr. Lightman from the show “Lie to me” to complete a facial tic/ clench/ eye shift analysis/ including a sitting forward in the chair/ nervousness etc. etc. on this tape and to confirm the truth of his statements. Alan Gore, a creation of his father. A person who needed to live vicariously through his proxy because the older Gore was recognized in his deceitful ways by his generation. However the boomer generation leadership and sciolist believers, with complicity in the formation of the financial collapse and bailout; to rampant lifestyle obesity; to the little girls frightened to be themselves and not be submissive first date hook ups for pubescent teen age males; seems incapable of reading this man. He was the second banana in the Presidential Team who set a new standard come on line for the teen age scene. “it’s not sex; the President said so under oath”. This is just a solution for personal failure; a sequel “if I make a lot of money my daddy will have been pleased with me and forgive me for failing to become President”. Besides I also received a Nobel prize and everyone knows how difficult it is to get one of those things. Cheer; Mike Sr.

Wow! CNN is sure friendly to Al! Star struck I guess.
Anyone who knows the Gore Sr. and Jr. connection to Armand Hammer and Occidental petroleum/Hooker Chemical knows this man is NO saviour of anyone but himself.
It always amuses me how GW Bush was “Big Oil” but Gore who really IS connected to Big Oil gets a free pass. To anyone who knows Gore’s true past, he has no credibility whatsoever.
Watching him lie on climate change friendly CNN is enough to make me sick.
It’s late and I give a huge thanks to Kate. I so much needed a great release before heading to bed.
…and no, not that kind.
All of this deceit is so hard to fathom coming from the man who invented the internet.
Keep your eyes on the weather in Hopenchangen, if you like this sort of thing. Could be snowing there pretty soon.
By the way, lethal cold heading for the prairies this weekend, any chance of a Gore outdoor rally in Saskatoon?

GORE: Those limitations are yielding to dramatic improvements in the technology. But let me turn to your question about nuclear. What really led to the stop — almost a stop in nuclear power, was the cost. It’s been going up 15 percent a year for 30 years. A $400 million reactor is now $4 billion reactor.
ROBERTS: But a lot of that cost was because of environmental regulation.
GORE: Well, I’ll not sure that’s actually the case. Some of it was. But the environmental regulations by the Nuclear Regulatory Commission have long since been redesigned to the industry’s liking. I’m not opposed to nuclear power, John. I don’t believe that it was either the safety or environmental concerns that resulted in the primary obstacles that led to the industry coming to a standstill. It is the cost and where the global distribution of nuclear power plants is concerned.
================
Apparently, the chesse-eating surrender monkeys have been successfully using nuclear power for at least [cough] 30 years now.
It amazes me that this farce is still going on, pushed by silly little boys and girls that have rehearsed their parts as useful idiots for so long and so hard that they CAN NOT SEE ANYTHING ELSE!!
They can not read the latest core sample info of the 1000 A.D. to 1400 A.D. periods. It would shake them into having nothing to do now, except go home and pout. Can’t have that!! Shout louder!
It’s a pity. Wonder how the Y2K and Global Cooling fanatics are feeling right now…or are they in on the Global Warming fanaticism?
Al’s probably just jealous:

“U.N. climate chief cashes in on carbon
A story emerging out of Britain suggests “follow the money” may explain the enthusiasm of the United Nations to pursue caps on carbon emissions , despite doubts surfacing in the scientific community about the validity of the underlying global warming hypothesis.
A Mumbai-based Indian multinational conglomerate with business ties to Rajendra K. Pachauri, the chairman since 2002 of the U.N. Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change, or IPCC, stands to make several hundred million dollars in European Union carbon credits simply by closing a steel production facility in Britain with the loss of 1,700 jobs.

“Canadian ice climber swept to death
BOZEMAN, Mon. – World-class ice climber Guy Lacelle died Thursday when an avalanche swept him off a mountain in southwestern Montana.
The Canadian was climbing a gully when a team above him triggered a small avalanche, said Doug Chabot, director of the Gallatin National Forest Avalanche Centre.
“A small pocket of snow pulled out and caught him,” Chabot said. “It hit him and took him off the cliff, down the ice.”
“John Irvine, the sports marketing manager for the climbing equipment company Arc’teryx, called Lacelle a “fanatical ice climber” and said his death is a “huge, huge loss.””

A good devoted global warmist will go as far as walk trough 10 miles of snow in Texas or Florida to show the world the planet is warming.

No wonder Liberals & Democrats love Cap & Trade/Tax . . . so many opportunities to line their pockets like Gore is already doing.
” The Telegraph reports on the latest embarrassment to confront the revelers in Copenhagen:
Carbon trading fraudsters may have accounted for up to 90% of all market activity in some European countries, with criminals pocketing an estimated €5bn (£4.5bn) mainly in Britain, France, Spain, Denmark and Holland, according to Europol, the European law enforcement agency.
The revelation caused embarrassment for European Union negotiators at the Copenhagen climate change summit yesterday, where they have been pushing for an expansion of their system across the globe to penalise heavy emitters of carbon dioxide.
Rob Wainwright, the director of serious crime squad, said large-scale organised criminal activity had “endangered the credibility” of the current carbon trading system.

Al Gore has a BA in government.
I have a BA in linguistics.
On what “expert” basis is Al’s opinion more scientific than mine?
JJM, you dare to question the Goreacle’s academic credentials??!! I’ll bet you didn’t flunk out of divinity school — twice! So there.
A Gore is what you may commonly describe as windbag.
Somewhat in the same vein as the current occupant of the White House.
Gore can talk for hours and make no sense and say nothing that would have connection to actual real events in life.
Gore constantly tells interviewers that what others say is out of context, you may think that Gore has no concept of what out of context means. For him it is a way to sort of play it to the out and hope for the best.
Gore: “Well, they took a few phrases out of context. These are private e-mails, more than ten years old, and they’ve tried to blow it up into something that is really not.”
The above quote was linked to by Drudge yesterday under the heading Gore is lying or something to that effect.
I’d love to ask Gore how much he has profited from this whole scam. Which companies he owns or gets shares from being a director and how many carbon credit offset firms he owns. I’d ask him about such a conflict of interest in trying to lobby for legislative change which would profit him directly. I’d ask him basic factual questions to see if he can EVER tell the truth. Finally, I’d ask him to tell us if his eyes are brown or not.
Now Al, be a real man and go be interviewed by Hannity on FOX. I dare ya!
One commenter on u-tube made an excellant point about how popular this would be to the warmist establishment if it was implemented on a “non-profit” basis.
I know that is unlikely but not irrelevant.
Profiteers + useful idiots…….
Speaking of global warming wingnuts, does anybody know if Paladiea at Stormy Days of March is still blogging?
I went over there the other day (to gloat, I admit it) and got a “403- Forbidden” error.
Climategate casualty or funky server?
The goracle and his “gravity” theory sounds vaguely familiar to the “proof is da proof” logic of the little slimeball from Shiwinigan. If I recall, the MSM was also content(for the large part) with that answer.
I think the world need a few good leaders to call the eco-socialists bluff and steer the world in the right direction.
What’s with those British scientists, throwing their support behind the discredited CRU? Reminds me of horses running into a burning barn.
I think, from now on, when a warmist claims someone is connected to big oil, they should reply, you’re connected to big grants.
Last week, the Met Office—the UK’s state-run weather bureau—announced that all the climate data for the last 160 years would have to be reviewed in the wake of “Climate gate”. Remember how confident you were that the data would actually be reviewed? No, neither do I. The British government itself protested this move by the Met Office, arguing that to even announce such a review would stoke the irrational fires of skepticism. But the Met Office insisted, arguing that its own integrity, and the integrity of the science itself were at stake, and that the three-year review must proceed, even in the face of powerful opposition from its own government. Wow! Remember how assured you wer of the Met’s integrity by its refusal to be bullied by its own government masters? No, neither do I.
Well, as the inestimable James Taranto, at WSJ Online, reports The Times reporting:
More than 1,700 scientists have agreed to sign a statement defending the “professional integrity” of global warming research. They were responding to a round-robin request from the Met Office, which has spent four days collecting signatures. . . .
But:
One scientist told The Times he felt under pressure to sign. “The Met Office is a major employer of scientists and has long had a policy of only appointing and working with those who subscribe to their views on man-made global warming,” he said.
See: http://online.wsj.com/article/SB10001424052748703514404574587811671196406.html
Now what could possibly go wrong with the Met Office soliciting signatures from scientists defending the integrity of global warming research? Let us count the ways:
(1) Science is not a democracy. Scientific truth is not the same thing as consensus, no matter how large the number of those that agree. Anybody remember Gallileo? Giordano Bruno?
(2) The “authority” for scientific truth is not the opinions of scientists. It is the world of objective matters of fact.
(3) So, for the scientists to agree to sign such a petition is for them to confess that they themselves either do not understand science, or have so little integrity that they are willing to participate in this charade to fool a gullible public equally ignorant of the ways of science.
(4) In either case, the science itself is undermined, again!, by what the Met Office and the petition-signers have done.
(5) Worse still, some of the signers signed under pressure, fearing for their jobs, since the Met Office is a major employer and funder of research that supports global warming!
(6) Again, the integrity of the science is undermined. How can anyone reasonably have any confidence in a science practiced under coercion by scientists who participate in the coercion and deception?
(7) The scale of this mess grows larger with every move these people make. It is much worse than many of us imagined.
Wasn’t there once something called ‘academic freedom’, and wasn’t it justified as being necessary to prevent government’s corrupting influence on intellectual enquiry? Whatever happened to that? Statism happened. Its alive and well and flourishing at a state-run institution near you.
ES, you forgot Global Influenza Pandemic and Global HIV/AIDS Pandemic. Both trotted out, both dead in the water. If no real blood has been spilled, there’s always crap to be sold by PREDICTING spilled blood.
Oh please, you flat-earthers! You all know that its just weather, and that N. America is only a small fraction of the world.
You may have snow and ice, but in the Pacific Islands, a child just died from a super-heated wave washing over his house. An african child just died of malnutrition because a cruel dictator…er..I mean a drought caused a famine! A puppy was stomped to death in a climate refugee stampede!
STOP BEING SO IGNORANT AND EMBRACE THE TRUTH ABOUT THE EARTH!!!
Good one Rick.
Kate, I really enjoyed the poetry competition inspired, in part or whole, by Al Gore’s poetry book.
Can we have a “Trumped Up Outrageous Global Warming Claim” parody thread to really put the rock in mock to Mr. Gore and his ilk?
I’ll bet we could invent some beauts that would be a super parody.
Colin
The real disconnect for many people on this issue, is that, in general, I think we can all agree that we do see some signs of what appear to be some minor warming, such as the glaciers receding, for example. But, they have been melting since the last ice age, a heretical statement to a true believer.
The true believers, or followers if you will, tend to be very superficial. They look at various symptoms, some very obvious, the glaciers, the arctic ice sheet (up until 2006, of course), some not so obvious, or curious scenarios (animal populations, diseases, droughts) ans conveniently tie them together into one single bad guy, CO2.
Largely because Al Gore and Suzuki said so.
The rest are much more likely to dig into the issue, and see that, especially now, the science has been either sloppy, or rigged, or likely a combination, along with a healthy dose of activist scienticians.
The person that is probably closest to the issue, at least as being reasonable, is Bjorn Lomborg, who is seen as a turncoat on the left. I don’t entirely agree with him, but, at least he stands up and tries to be a reasonable guy, and puts things into perspective. He doesn’t make the outrageous claims of doom and gloom, and says that AGW is no big deal.
Result? Lomborg is not radical enough for the religion, so he has been ex-communicated.
The problem, is that he has the necessary attitude, and down to earth reasoning skills, that could make some kind of deal possible, unlike the radicals that have take over the agenda.
Instead, the true believers are in the all or nothing camp, as witnessed by Hansen’s position. He won’t attend Copenhagen, because in his view, making deals are a compromise, where he sees the need for radical reductions, which of course would destroy the western economies. He’s your typical nutbar
It won’t help. Ol’ Tree-stump Al is immune to irony.
Its true mojo. Algore has an ear of purest tin.
He’s already had one of these scams shot out from under him, along with the presidency. That’d be gun control and the NRA whacked him so hard with the cluebat that Chimpybushitler was “selected not elected” to 8 years in the Big Chair instead of Algore.
The next thing you see Algore talking about after climategate eats his lunch will also be a scam on its last legs. He has a genius for jumping from one sinking ship to the next.
Lets hope he becomes a big cheese at the UN. That’s a ship I’d like to see sunk.

As many as 100 people were stranded in their cars and trucks when howling winds and blowing snows closed the Thruway here at the Route 60 exit at 1:30 a.m. today.
Thruway snowplows were able to plow a path through a U-turn lane and had people drive east to the exit here.

GREEN BAY, Wis. (AP) — Some Wisconsin communities that have installed high efficiency traffic lights are discovering the energy-saving bulbs are a hazard in a snow storm.

“Ontario’s cottage country buried in snow
The central Ontario towns of Bracebridge and Huntsville have declared snow emergencies amid a record-breaking squall that is expected dump nearly a metre of snow before sunrise Saturday.
According to Environment Canada, up to 80 centimetres of snow is expected to fall by Friday night — eight centimetres more than the Muskoka area’s average snowfall for the entire month of December.
More than 50 centimetres had fallen this month before the snow squall hit, and the previous single-day snowfall record for Huntsville — 54 centimetres on March 4, 1985 — was smashed.”

Looks like there are heatwaves. You guys should watch your tunnel vision! Enjoy the cool weather while it is still available.
(IsraelNN.com) Sunday’s weather forecast calls for an additional rise in temperatures. A heat wave is expected over the mountains and inland regions. The Israel Meteorological Service says to be careful with flames due to the risk of fire from hot and dry weather conditions.
Temperatures in Jerusalem from 24C/75F to 75F/91F; Tel Aviv 21C/69F to 69C/78F; Haifa 21C/69F to 29C/84F; Eilat from 28C/82F to 42C/107F.
On Monday, the heat wave will prevail over most parts of the country. On Tuesday, there will be a significant drop in temperatures and a rise in humidity.
Israel must be closer to the earth’s molten layers than we are. According to Al Gore, the interior of the earth is several million degrees.
So, I can see why people listen when he tells them about climate.
