Now Is The Time At SDA When We Juxtapose!

Tell me, my dear “green” lurkers – how many more people do you plan to kill to advance your agenda?
Australia, 2009During question time at a packed community meeting in Arthurs Creek on Melbourne’s northern fringe, Warwick Spooner — whose mother Marilyn and brother Damien perished along with their home in the Strathewen blaze — criticised the Nillumbik council for the limitations it placed on residents wanting the council’s help or permission to clean up around their properties in preparation for the bushfire season. “We’ve lost two people in my family because you dickheads won’t cut trees down,” he said. “We wanted trees cut down on the side of the road … and you can’t even cut the grass for God’s sake.”
California, 2009The blaze has destroyed more than five dozen homes, killed two firefighters and forced thousands of people to flee… Biologist Ileene Anderson with the Center for Biological Diversity, an environmental organization, said burn permits should be difficult to get because of the potential damage to air quality. Clearing chaparral by hand or machine must be closely scrutinized because it can hurt native species.”
I’m not interested in a rebuttal. I want a number.

47 Replies to “Now Is The Time At SDA When We Juxtapose!”

  1. Alas, it is not a number but when… as soon as Ileene Anderson’s home is threatened by the fires.

  2. They don’t do numbers. Arithmetic is difficult, Math is impossible. Science, well science is better left to Al Gore and other really smart people.
That’s why they studied Journalism or the Sociology of Victim’s Rights or whatever.

  3. I don’t have numbers, but I do know that the problem of wildland fires are increased by human intervention.
Such as that idiot Lizzy May who came to the attention of the Green Party by protesting the spraying for Spruce Bud Worms.
As such, dead trees (spruce) contribute to the fire load, and increase the amount of Ladder Fuel which boosts the fire.
Further, the same mindset limits the effectiveness of Urban-wildland interface protection, when they stop the cutting of trees beside a house.
It is lefty/greenie twits, that have caused many of these limited fires, to become killers.

  4. Well the commies and socialists got rid of about 100 million in the 20th century in the name of political progress…so I guess that would work for the eco-nuts, too.

  5. I know a socialist. He happens to be my former countryman, he’s from USSR. My age guy, with family and kids. Here’s what you can here from him:
    – Stalin was the greatest leader USSR had.
    – Tens of millions of people who were killed in revolution and subsequent wars had to be sacrificed for the idea. The end justifies the means.
    – Socialism is the best ever society, where social justice is at cornerstone.
and he goes on and on like that forever.
You are dealing with people whose mind is not open to reason. They are mentally sick, incapable of thinking logically. The more I live, the more I come to realization that democracy, where majority elects the government, is doomed as the number of minds infected with socialist ideas is increasing.
Unfortunately I cannot escape you, people, ‘and go live on an island somewhere’. You will drag me down to socialist hell with you.

  6. native species…more sacred than human species.
and did someone tell Ileene just how many native species were lost in the wildfires, or is she hiding out somewhere..in a tree?

  7. Five and a half billion would be ideal. Gaia would approve along with Fat Al, David Suzuki, G Soros, Mo Strong et al. and there would still be enough viable peasantry to do the bidding of the Elitist Masters of human society.

  8. Kelowna fires – this year and before. Nothing but nothing stops the fire like green orchards and vineyards do.
Would green, clear barriers between cities/towns and the forests be a good idea?
Seems like a win win win to me.
    Peoples homes are not destroyed.
    Crops are produced.
In many cases the trees are old and need to be cleared out anyways.
So why the resistance from the enviro-fanatics ?

  9. Gee, Kate, I dunno – how many more people do you plan to kill to advance your laissez faire free market corporate ass-sucking agenda?
Katrina was a nice start…the Iraq war…what next?

  10. Isn’t it scary to realize there are so many leftist insane people in the world that now they ere considered to be the normal ones? Complete inversion.

  11. robins111,
I well remember the Spruce Budworm infestation of the early 70’s in the highlands of Cape Breton. Dad used to fly Dept of Forestry guys around to check the extent and I used to tag along. The devestation was apparent to even a 10 or 11 year old kid. All that orange where green belonged.
A little more than 12 years later I was working for INCO doing a ground survey and basic geology in those same Highlands. Only in 1986 were the local loggers allowed to clear out the thousands of acres of deadwood that the likes of Lizzy May allowed to die.

  12. Tell me, my dear “green” lurkers – how many more people do you plan to kill to advance your agenda?
Bonus question – if killing people is a good idea, why don’t you start by killing yourselves? Leave by example, so to speak.

  13. Remember, Kate, humans are a blight on the earth and “population control” has always been forefront in the hearts and minds of the more ardent environmentalists.
A number? Take Paul Watson’s as a starting point: 4 billion.

  14. The Okanagan Mountain fire here in Kelowna in 2003 was directly attributed to accumulation of forest debris and hands-off policies from the Government.
We lost no lives, fortunately, but over 200 houses burned to the ground.
Maybe, just maybe, people are starting to get sick of the bullying of the environmentalists.

  15. Perhaps people will soon come to understand that the environmentalists are just a front for the world socialists and work diligently to create the conditions for massive environmental disasters so they can push their agenda, it’s the same reason they stop people earning a living, the poor depend on governments. They could care less about the environment or they would not be trying to starve the worlds plant populations and destroy economies with their socialist global warming come climate change bull shyte.

  16. Jacques-Yves Cousteau: eliminate 350,000 people per day
Paul Ehrlich: About 2 billion is optimal.
Ted Turner: A 95% decline from present levels
Britain’s Optimum Population Trust: 30 million

  17. I think there is a hint carved into a slab of granite in a remote part of Georgia, tucked in by the South Carolina border.

  18. Seems that this ‘make-the-sheep-feel-guilty’ thing has been around a long time and has worked many times – at least for awhile.
    Make them feel guilty.
Make them obey or they will die.
Only the Leaders/Elite are smart enough to save us.
Mankind should be ashamed of himself for building a house near Gaia’s trees. Guilt.
The Cult Leader makes his followers feel so guilty they believe the only way out is to drink the cool-aide. Guilt.
Jeezuz died for your sins, you are indebted, you are guilty, you must seek salvation. Guilt.
Albert Gore has been saying for years and years that we only have a few years left to save the planet from mankind’s doings. Guilt.
    Will we never learn ?

  19. Animals aren’t stupid. They will flee when they see humans or a fire. On the other hand, humans tend to do things that ensure their demise as a species. My father always pointed out that clearing underbrush could limit a forest fire but why listen common sense when some eco-busy-body can determine the fate of an entire community.
Now, my father is watching public works chop down trees on HIS property because parents are too stupid to teach their token onelings NOT to climb them. I don’t know where the blue jays, cardinals, thrushes and robins are supposed to go. The value of my parents’ house has diminished because the trees aren’t there, but at least unattended kids won’t presumably get hurt.

  20. Good luck with that Kate. Considering that the green inpsired ban on DDT has allowed malaria to kill (murder?) over 50,000,000 and made countless others sick, the number they have in mind is large.
The cull is on folks. The greenies death toll will soon surpass that of the commies.

  21. hitting animals is fun! i hit a gigantic gofer-ine while driving my deathstar down the interstate! then admiral Piatte had the brilliant idea of going road-kill frenzy on the number 1 in canada! we therefor crashed into a tree because of the blood covering our windshield. then the teletubbies came and saved us from certain firey death inside our car! just as we were about to thank them, all of a sudden, tom cruise and rambo broke in through the bushes covered in animal guts and armed with 50 caliber rifles, immidiately killing the teletubbies, and dora the explorer, and her gay monkey friend, boots, who was infected with aids. that is why i like roadkill.

Katrina was a nice start…the Iraq war…what next?***
Yeah well you’re right on one thing—you just dunno….
Katrina was a relatively mild hurricane…..which caused a lot of deaths and property damage due to the socialist time bomb that New Orleans was/is.
Neglected Levees(not sea-level rise) around a city that is settling because the Missippi Delta settles like all deltas….
A city that is top-heavy with social dependants(affirmative action dependants)….politicized to think the world owes them a living.
Then you nention Iraq—-after decades of armed aggression….domestic atrocities…and evidence of WMD development….
Connect the dots….all of a sudden Iran has a MATURE nuclear programme….the very same country Saddam’s Migs fled to during Gulf1.
    Yeah you just dunno….
This socialist genocide has been an agenda for many decades—Margaret Mead was an early proponent.
Rachel Carson on her death bed..declared that the banning of DDT was her proudest moment—killing about 50 million Africans and causing even more to be still infected by malaria—including myself.
    Did your mommy drop you?

  23. When I hear the word culture, I reach for my gun.

When I hear the word diversity, I reach for my gun.

Which reminds me: must move that up a few notches on my To Do list.
And you’ve all heard about the 90% reduction of water to CA’s breadbasket. To Save the Smelt!
    Now that’s fishy!

  24. The ruling class would be satisfied with something like Momar’s prediction, where the great unwashed are part proletariat, part omelette.
The useful idiots are incapable of comprehending the question.
bleet, I suspect I know what happens to the useless idiots, so get crackin’.

  25. Dead trees all over BC and it’s current fire situation- Pine beetle started at Tweedsmuir park- the enviros there wouldn’t burn it out- now it’s all over BC into Alberta AND heading east.

  26. I think that the law should require a minimum of of 800 meters cleared around residential properties on the edge of a town or city. You don’t need a degree to see why!

  27. @bleet
    =======================
It always amazes me when some moron mentions Katrina as a model of how “the man” is trying to kill the minorities of the world. I lived through Katrina – watched Baton Rouge turn into a hellhole overnight as the “refugees” arrived and proceeded to do to our city what they had done to New Orleans. The fact that our Democratic Governor and the Democratic Mayor of New Orleans (Blanco and Naquin, respectively) just sat on their asses while the hurricane headed for landfall and then looked for somebody – ANYBODY to blame for their incompetence afterwards is a testament to the “somebody do something for me” mindset that typifies southern Louisiana.
As for the “botched” federal response – you do realize that it was Blanco who refused to let first the national guard into the state, and later the FEMA trailers – all because she was trying to show Bush who was “in charge”, right? If only she had taken a little charge before Katrina hit land – who knows how many lives might have been saved? Strangely similar to that “who knows how many lives would have been saved if the brush was cleared before the fire” scenario, eh? Are you sensing a pattern here?

I’m thinking of a line from the movie Predator. Can you guess which one?
They are still mortal, and if you prick them, they will still bleed (though what I’m not entirely certain).

  29. Numbers …. Facts …. History …. Logic …. Truth …..
    What is …..
Five things that a LIberal cannot understand Alex.

  30. The answer is simple Kate: all of them. The fundamental agenda of the environmentalist is to remove humanity from the environment. I.e. exterminate humanity.

  31. The number is easy – 2. Two inches of rain per hour that is. That is how much “rain” will be covering any home and will stop any fire brands that land on the roof from igniting the home. All you need to do is put in place a Canadian-made portable Wajax Mark III pump (into a lake, ditch, pool or any source of water), 1.5″ burn proof (weaping) forestry hose and a Rainbird (brass golf course type sprinklers – see: http://www.rainbird.com/landscape/products/impacts/35atnt.htm) on the roof of the home. Ontario Fire Rangers perfected this in the 80’s and have tried to convince both BC and California that this works to save lives and property. In fact I have been there and witnessed entire villages and entire subdivisions saved by simply installing a single sprinkler on each roof. It is amazing and it works. In 1991, in Oakland CA, when a forest firestorm ripped through a part of town, some 50 people died and over 3000 homes were destroyed. And the odd thing is that a large number of those homes had a swimming pool full of water in the back yard, while the home was burnt to the ground. If each had a sprinkler system as described above – no one would have died and the homes would still be there. So why doesn’t BC and California use this approach you might ask. I just don’t have an answer for that question.

  32. Anyone who has paid any kind of attention to the wildfire situation in B.C. must have noticed that the majority of communities adversely affected by wildfires are located in valleys, within a few kilometers of a river or lake. Lillooet, Pritchard, Kelowna, Barriere; all are within a mile or two of a major waterway.
What B.C. desperately needs is a small fleet of hovercraft fitted out as fireboats. Equip them with a honking big water pump, preferably driven off the hovercraft’s propulsion turbines, and a number of big reels of hose, capable of reaching something like 5 km from the shoreline.
Hovercraft can transit rivers, lakes, swamps, or dry land, and pass over river rapids that stop a conventional vessel dead. And they can travel at 100 km/hr or better.
A hovercraft fireboat based at Kamloops could reach most centres in Southern B.C. within a few hours, at most. Land-based firefighters could have hose laid out, awaiting the arrival of the vessel, so that it could commence pumping huge volumes of water within minutes of arriving on site.
The purpose of this would be not so much to extinguish a forest fire, but to soak down homes, businesses, and their surrounding landscaping to forestall insurable losses.
Existing hover ferries could probably be converted to this duty in a fairly short time frame, but purpose-built vessels, with the water pumps integrated into the propulsion engines, might provide more capacity in a smaller vessel with lower fuel requirements.

  33. gordinkneehill that is a great suggestion. Hovercraft can get to the location and pump the water in a hurry. We should set up a internationally famous “new-improved Red Adair smoke buster team” with hovercraft, miles of hose and sprinklers. The only issue is when the forest fire is in the crown of the trees or there is too much smoke because of wind for the fire fighters to work on the fire or stay with the homes to keep them wet. With the set-up-the-sprinklers and leave method that I describe above, no firefighters have to stick around in the often impossible hell when the fire passes through. I have been in a helicopter above a fast moving forest fire and observed the fire pass right over 75 homes on a lake, each with a sprinkler. Not one was burnt, other than an outhouse that was beyond the reach of the sprinkler that was set up on one of the homes.
Smoke busters could work in Australia in their fire season and back to USA and Canada in ours. Lets go show them how to do it right.

  34. A lot of the homes in Kelowna are 400 feet or more above the lake. That means a 200 psi pump just to lift it – nothing left for spray pressue!! A centrifugal won’t do it.

  35. Well, ‘bleet’ returned to form pretty quick, didn’t (s)he?
To answer the question: the “laissez faire free market corporate … agenda” over the past couple of centuries is the reason fools like ‘bleet’ don’t have to live in caves, wear loin cloths cut from animal skins, hunt wild boar for dinner every night, and die at age 15 of illnesses that are easily curable today.
Stop biting the hand that feeds you, ‘bleet’.

  36. People die for a bush because of these enviromental Morons. Yet these same mental cases weep tears for serial killers crying one innocent life is worth loosing killers. Yet for normal people on their own land are not allowed to protect themselves & families.
How could anyone be sane being this batty?

  37. Interior Alaskans breathe smoke from forest fires all summer long, but the enviro-fascists want them to stop using wood stoves in winter due to ‘air quality’ issues – and some Alaskans actually take these people seriously?! You would think they would run them out of town….

  38. A lot of the homes in Kelowna are 400 feet or more above the lake. That means a 200 psi pump just to lift it – nothing left for spray pressue!! A centrifugal won’t do it.
Posted by: ron in kelowna at September 3, 2009 11:27 PM
You are right Ron in Kelowna that a centrifugal pump would not pump water up 400 feet, so the answer to that is to have a cistern for fire protection on your property or in your basement(since you folks in BC don’t have fancy swimming pools like in California) It can be any kind of cistern, Plastic/cement as long as it has at least 10,000 liters capacity to do the job. Failing a cistern, a porta-tank (2500 gallons) can be constructed out of a frame of any kind and a big heavy duty tarp or use a big portable frame less swimming pool. Fill with water by any means available – as the weather and fire hazard turn hot. The commercial fire brigate porta-tanks are expensive, because they have a collapsible frame and heavy duty liner so they can be used a number of times.
    Good luck
