Why this blog?
Until this moment I have been forced to listen while media and politicians alike have told me "what Canadians think". In all that time they never once asked.
This is just the voice of an ordinary Canadian yelling back at the radio -
"You don't speak for me."

There’s MUCH MORE on the Walpin firing at America’s Right … that site is incredible.
Point people to the top of the page:
http://www.americasright.com
concentration camps are ready for those who dont toe the obama line.
OK, American media. Here is a story. Please investigate and report as appropriate.
Let’s see what you can do . . . . .
(Or will do?)
Beck has been a little unhinged from reality of late, but this is such a flagrant abuse of power that the media should be absolutely ashamed of themselves that they’re rolling over for their golden boy.
Is anyone surprised? Obama talks a great open and transparent blah blah blah but when the rubber meets the road he is worse than many before him.
He, if you listen to what he says every 15 minutes in another televised speech, is the kind of person that listens to all points of view and then basically dismisses those who do not agree with him and says I am doing it my way I just listened as a political courtesy.
He also is not above this sort of strong arm and threating tactics, look at his MO on things like Cap and Trade where he uses a threat and intimidation to pass it. He has the EPA set to simply punish anyone who does not fall inline and is using the CO2 in the CAA as a threat so that lawmakers are forced to pass the bill or have their businesses back home fined and shut down by the EPA. The hacks on the hill will pass it because they think they can better mediate the rules if they do pass it than have the EPA act outside of their control.
The final piece that is important is that Obama plans to use the service corps to fund his ground game for the next elections. Cannot have an IG messing up the flow of funds to his political action groups, supporters and other ground game participants.
Beck has been a little unhinged from reality of late
I’d put it this way: Beck has been a little unhinged BY THE NEW reality of late.
I watch most of his shows which I record on my new hard disk digital box (so I can fast-forward thru the ads). While he gets on my nerves a lot of the time he gets it better than most.
I would disagree that he’s unhinged and I would disagree with Vitruvius’s earlier assertion that he is a fear-monger, assuming he uses the term in the sense of pushing false or ungrounded fears.
From the getgo, I’ve felt that Obama is a Marxist thug. Every day, I look more correct.
We will have noticed, with respect to the upcoming ABC informercial for the Obamunists, he doesn’t have to actually seize the media like his buddy Hugo Chavez.
Finally, how striking that this good and honourable man has been hit with the mental illness smear. Different only in degree from the uses of psychiatry in the former Soviet Union.
The most surprising thing is he is one of the co sponsors of the legislation protecting the Inspector general.
So disappointing….who is actually responsible for firing the guy. A Rahm Emanual special?
America will live to regret this Presidential choice.
I’d put it this way: Beck has been a little unhinged BY THE NEW reality of late.
I’m not sure sure about that; he seemed to go a little around the bend at the time of his conversion to Mormonism, when he took a distinctly “end of times” stand and started bawling on TV and warning people to look for assassination attempts directed at him. If he’s not unhinged, he’s doing a damn fine job of ACTING unhinged.
And like the ref on WWE, the remainder of the MSM will miss the whole thing.
At first, I said he would be the
Worst
President
Ever.
Now I have to change it to
Most
Corrupt
President
Ever.
The MSM willl notice it, only because they’ll have to launch a co-ordinated defense movement to protect their messiah and further smear the Inspector General .
It will be exactly like the job they did on Sarah Palin but instead of exposing their misogyny it’s time to make fun of mental old farts.
I hear Letterman has some side splitting jokes all lined up about raping old people.
Notice how Obama has refused to provide reasons for the firing of Walpin. After all, to declare that he has ‘lost his trust in Walpin’ is, as Walpin himself pointed out, a conclusion not a reason.
Then, when pressed, Obama’s statements that Walpin was acting ‘confused’ etc, are yet again, conclusions and not reasons. You have to provide specific data to show that this was ‘confused’ behaviour.
As Walpin points out, the real agenda is that he was investigating a crony of Obama’s.
Note also how Obama is moving ‘his administration’ out of the constitutional checks and balances of governance, by inserting dozens of unaccountable ‘czars’ who are in charge of a great many important areas but are totally beyond the reach of Congress and the electorate. They report only to Obama.
And what about ACORN? Obama is using this disreputable organization to do the census, in violation of the rule of law – and this will upset electoral districts and the consequent vote.
He’s corrupt because he considers himself outside of the law. And outside of America.
The Chicago Thugocracy rolls on, caring not a whit about laws, morality or what anyone else thinks.
All kneel in the presence of Obamassiah.
Faux News. Yup, I trust them.
If they’re not already, I hope those centrist Republicans and independents who voted for Ogabe are feeling pretty stupid right now.

So are you saying Walpin is a liar? That he lied to the public or perhaps fox news faked the interview?
Jennifer Lynch you are so pathetic you are beyond contempt.
Does Walpin have to “be fired”? Can he refuse to leave his job without a reason and 30 days’ notice to Congress?
Can he just say, “Hell no. I won’t go.”?
It seems to me that Obama’s about maximum disruption in the time he’s got in the White House. ‘Just do as much damage as he can in the time he’s there, in order to cause maximum chaos which, of course, calls for extreme measures which he’s all too happy to endorse and enforce with the Presidential Seal of Approval. Not being an historian or a student of history, my sense is that “maximum disruption” is one of the initial goals of the communist revolutionaries, to usher in a new order, a new system of doing things.
It is just so clear to me that Barak Obama is a cipher, an empty vessel, being used by others to forward a socialist agenda: He’s not smart, he’s eminently presentable. He’s got a sweet-as-honey-deep-as-a-well voice which is supposed to lull the masses into swooning idiots, plus the skin colour and culture-of-the-moment allure to silence any dissent.
Every time I see him get out that damned Air Force One helicopter which, with him coming down the stairs, looks like a Hollywood prop, I want to shout: “HEY, OBAMA! WHERE ARE YOUR CLOTHES? THAT SUIT CAN’T HIDE THE EMPTINESS INSIDE!”
It takes my breath away that nearly all of the people were fooled this time. All Obama can do, given that he’s an affirmative action front man — and not in any way presidential material — is cause maximum disruption to the private enterprise system, to democracy as we have known it for the past few hundred years.
And, he’s doing a damned good job. At the end of his tenure in the White House (please G*d, only another three years) he’ll be well compensated by his overlords and he, Michelle, and his daughters will ride off into a monied, gated, and privileged sunset, having done their job.
Remember: Obama’s job isn’t to be a good president or a patriotic American or the guardian of American democracy and the American way of life — which, ironically, has given him and his family a very lucrative life style.
His job is simply to cause as much chaos and damage to the American democracy and way of life as he can, leaving it to his handlers to decide what to do with the much diminished America that results.
How come it’s so hard for people to see this?
“Faux News. Yup, I trust them.

Oh that’s right…I forgot – the only real truthful news comes from MSNBC, ie Matthews and Olbermann, you know, journalists with real integrity and no bias.
How come it’s so hard for people to see this?
Posted by: batb at June 18, 2009 5:01 PM
What’s the expression? None are as blind as those who refuse to see….or something along those lines.
I was forecasting an Obama administration to be a veritable train wreck as far back as September, as the presidential campaign went into the final stretch. It was obvious to any independent-minded thinker who look at the facts surrounding Obama, his experience, his associations, etc. that he would be ill-qualified for the White House.
That said, even I’m shocked at the extent to which he is damaging the American economy, and at his flagrant disregard for the rule of law and the Constitution. And, I’m not even an American!
Hey Jennifer Lynch:
How can you be posting @ SDA and lying your arse off on CTV at the same time?
Jennifer Lynch, above, has a point – it’s Faux News, and not important. The big news agencies shouldn’t waste their time on insignificant tripe like this when the real news is that Obama swatted a fly during an interview, and we were lucky enough to catch it on camera. I can’t get enough of reporting like that. I can see why that story has legs, and has been broadcast so much. But this? Blah, blah, blah, Obama’s buddies are fleecing Americans, yadda yadda, Obama is protecting the theives, not the taxpayers, yawn.
Big Media – keeping us informed.
Firing a bureaucrat for doing his job?
Hey, you folk have been right all along.
Obama is taking lessons on governing from Harper.

Got a link for that kevink? How about you ted? Care to post a link? Got to be a civil suit somewhere if they were fired for doing “their” jobs!
Everytime I see Obama I can’t help but think of the Wizard of Oz, and wonder who is controlling the teleprompter. Americans better wake up in a hurry before it is to late to save their country from the puppeteers controlling Obama’s strings.
As a SK taxpayer I find it hard to believe all of these were fired for being bad employees:

I am not a fan of either party firing people when they take power so just being consitant.

Getting rid of civil servants whose loyalty to the government in power is questionable has been a common practice in politics for centuries. Surely you are not suggesting the two are the same? The connection is laughable.

“Obama is taking lessons on governing from Harper.”
This weak and childish defence is turning up more and more when someone criticizes obozo. Not so long ago he was The Light Worker, bringing hope and change, and now they defend him by comparing him to Bush or Harper, two politicians they dislike.
They’ve either lowered their estimation of obozo or raised their opinion of Bush and Harper…
we talking this ‘inspector general’?

Danny Kaye was my favorite comedian at one point. I loved his slap stick sort of stuff but it was far more animated and had some other ingredient I’ve never pinned down.
“Life is a great big canvas; throw all the paint you can at it.”
The sad part about it is Kevin Johnson seems like a rather nice, competent fellow so far. He replaced a cypher who was the very model of an incompetent machine politician after a hard fought election. I had high hopes. Still do (well, as much as one can in the farcical world of CA politics – just look at our Mr. Olympia/Governator). Johnson says it’s all been worked out by underlings – now ancient history – a mere misunderstanding don’t you know?
It’s a pity the wrath of an increasingly outraged electorate couldn’t fall where it should – on Pelosi, Reid, Frank and Dodd, to name a few. Poor Kevin is just the new kid on the block – an easy target for a press that just might be hankering for some actual meat to throw to the mob. As unemployment continues to skyrocket with no relief in sight and as the specter of government run amok looms large, MSM worship of the deity is beginning to wear mighty thin.
Of course! – silly me – should have stuck this in my comment above.
The MSM, after throwing said meat to the mob, will hold up young, charismatic, photogenic ex – NBA star Johnson against old, Republican what’s his name. Another saintly martyr is born. Another clear case of Rethuglicans tryin’ to put the black man down.
America became Chicago the minute the Democretins accepted O-baby’s application for candidacy.
America’s LIberals bringing you bigger loads of crap with every day.

Yes! You may have it… I have been trying to think of how the Democrats will end this Nightmare episode of the WH series. (I know you didn’t mean obama)
I think the real story Re: Firing maybe even more creepy than the one in the news cycle.. Not getting up from his chair, Hail to the KING
“Getting rid of civil servants whose loyalty to the government in power is questionable has been a common practice in politics for centuries. Surely you are not suggesting the two are the same? The connection is laughable.”
Well you wanted a link – I said I do not agree when either side does it and the fact it has been done for centuries makes it no more right. There is no possible way that every civil servant fired during any of these changes in power was against the incoming government.
The solution will be as per Chicago style. Put your fingers in your ears, ….. wait for the smoke to clear and the ricochet.
sad sad sad
“There is no possible way that every civil servant fired during any of these changes in power was against the incoming government.”
Well Kevin, I’m sure the approx. 80 civil servants that were fired when the Sask Party took over weren’t Sask Party supporters. And I’m also sure that none of them were investigating wrong doings of Brad Wall’s supporters. But nice comparison.
What an odd rule, the 30-day thing… I don’t know but guess this rule was put in place by left wing types to prevent their boys from being ousted by Republican presidents.
Similarly to the Clinton impeachment thing, as soon as one of their guys wants to break the rule, it’s okay.
“Well Kevin, I’m sure the approx. 80 civil servants that were fired when the Sask Party took over weren’t Sask Party supporters. And I’m also sure that none of them were investigating wrong doings of Brad Wall’s supporters. But nice comparison.”
Nice generalization. To quote others further up the thread – Got a Link? I have no dog in this fight I just think it is a huge waste of taxpayer dollars to fire civil servants based on percieved allegiances. Senior staff in specific ministries is one thing but staff with expertise in their fields is quite another.
All I’m asking is for all parties is to consider the taxpayers before making these knee jerk political decisions immediately after elections.
Kevin, a link to what? That there were approx. 80 civil servants fired? – it was all over the news – you can google it. That none of them were investigating wrong doings of Brad Wall’s supporters? – Sorry I don’t have a link for that (it’s hard to prove a negative) but I’m sure if they were, someone might have mentioned it and I definitely don’t have a link for that.
Jennifer Lynch you are so pathetic you are beyond contempt.

You know, ET, I find your posts have a certain literal and logical flavour to them; it’s always easy to read the first sentence or two and guess who’s behind the words. I find them quite interesting & accurate, and I always give them a second read, for both information and enjoyment. You are a valued member of this site, IMO. Please do keep contributing.
