Note the dramatic rewrite of this Canadian Press “news” item. I created this post a few hours ago and scheduled it for publication this afternoon (as I often do). When I rechecked the link, it seemed to me that the content of the article had changed considerably.
It has.
The 10:00am version is still up at the Globe and Mail, the 3:45pm “update” at CTV is a completely different article from the CTV readers were responding to.
The original opinion piece posing as a news item, “No hugs for Harper” vs the editorially cleansed “Harper sees daughter off with one-armed squeeze”
And they say bloggers can’t be trusted?

I can’t vote for Harper because he’s cold and doesn’t kiss his children in public.
Of course had he kissed her, I couldn’t vote for him either because he’s creepy. Normal left wing fathers know that public affection only embarrasses kids at that age.
I hope everyone’s sarcasm meter is working tonight.
“I think that the Liberals are beginning to look like thugs, …”
Look like thugs? They are thugs. Their creed is based on social re-engineering, their tool is legislative hammering. Bans, limits, restrictions, star chambers, penalties.

“Even in the USA the media keep Obama’s kids out of the story.”
I agreed with what you had to say about CTV. But The media in the USA is just as bad as the media here. Yes, they leave Obama’s kids out because Obama is their golden boy. But they’ve certainly gone after Palin’s kids – her down syndrome baby and her pregnant daughter. Why? Because she’s a Republican (conservative).
mos/new can be confident nobody here will plagerize him! 🙂
Remember it’s OK for Dion to steal a company’s trademark (matter of record, they have settled), and steal Suzuki’s paper without attribution, all of which are issues for THIS election.
It’s not OK for Harper’s speechwriter to lift 7 lines out of 95 total in speech, material that is not intellectual property, with two elections held since, not including this one.
BTW, Martin and Ignatieff supported Canadian involvement for invasion of Iraq. Liberal government decided to increase their involvement in Afghanistan to show support for war on terror. The matter was dealt with and is irrelevant now.
Bob Rae is a joke, he is the Edward Kennedy of Canadian politics, a bloated egocentric figure who once considered the idea of repudiating Ontario’s public debt to salvage his disastrous economic policies.
Now he brings up a 5 year old speech to smear and snear his way to credibility. Yes, Bob, go right ahead, make a big deal out of this and show Canadians that the Liberals have neither principles or leadership.
Frankly, Harper needs only a good/strong performance in tonight’s french language debate to secure himself a majority, given the free fall in Dion’s/Grit vote and vote splitting.
Grits will still be Official Opposition though, because of Jack Layton, with his cheesy US-style campaign ads, and inability to understand where his new votes will come from.
There are still two weeks to go and Conservatives must continue to dialogue with Canadians, along with an onslaught of TV ads after the debate, to get majority, which will still be difficult.
But, Rae, Ignatieff, Dion and Layton are making it easier for majority to happen.
ROFLMAO
Dion could plagiarize new/mos and no one would know the difference.
