    But apparently any criticism is misguided. See, the Liberal Party is buying carbon offsets.

  11. Google doesn’t have Prime Minister Stephen Harper’s election announcement up yet. Hmmm. Guess the guys who do this are sleeping in. It IS Sunday morning.
    PMSH did extremely well. No fanfare, no gloating, just a straightforward commentary about what his minority government has achieved in the past two and a half years and why an election is necessary now, because the opposition parties have stalled the business of parliament by their lack of co-operation.
    Now, Stephane Dion is giving his speech. What a potboiler! NOT!!! Many times, he spoke about how excited he was and how exciting the policies are that his government is proposing, with absolutely no excitement in either his voice or his face–as per usual! The guy looks like a puppet; after all, he IS a puppet of the big business Power Corp who’ve pulled the strings of many former Librano prime ministers: Trudeau, Chretien, and Martin–and now, Bob Rae.
    Dion has made a crucial mistake. He spent nearly his whole speech mean-mouthing PM Stephen Harper rather than articulating his party’s plans and policies for Canadians. Of course, this had to be what his speech was about because the Librano$ don’t have comprehensive plans and policies to appeal to Canadians, just their tax grab-and-spend Green Shaft, which they’re backing off because none of them seem to have a unified understanding of what this “Green Shift” is.
    For a party that defining itself by their Green “policies” (sic), there was very little said about it in Dion’s speech. He certainly didn’t come out of the gate with an explanation of what the Green Shift will mean for Canadians.
    As the press questions became “aggressive” (more aggressive than those put to PM Stephen Harper, commented Peter Mansbridge), the CBC pulled the cameras off Mr. Dion and went to Carnation Street. A portend of things to come, I suspect: the CBC will be protecting the Liberal Party as much as they can, seeing as a majority CPC government might put their jobs at risk.
    One final note concerning the CBC coverage: Peter Mansbridge referred to the Governor General as Canada’s “Head of State.” The Queen is actually Canada’s Head of State, whereas Michaelle Jean in her role as Governor General is the Queen’s REPRESENTATIVE.
    You’d think a reporter as seasoned as Peter Mansbridge would know this.

    In his kickoff speech, Dion implores people to visit greenshift.ca, the website of the company suing the Liberal Party for stealing(leopards etc..) their property.
    Visitors are greeted with a large “our name has been hijacked” banner.
    Good start Mr.Bean.

    The best description I ever heard of carbon offsets was provided by one of the green fellow-travelers:
    “Buying credits to offset your carbon footprint is like donating to the Humane Society so you can continue beating your dog.”

    Similarities between the Oklahoma crimes and California’s infamous Zebra killings are unmistakable.
    In 1973-74, a radical sect of Black Muslims killed at least 15 — some claim as many as 71 — whites in San Francisco. The killers were trying to earn a place in paradise by acquiring “Death Angel wings,” a measure of status within the sect.
    “Points … were given based upon the murder victim,” said Oklahoma City police cold case Inspector Kyle Eastridge. “Children were worth more than women, and women were worth more than men.

    If this means that the NYT hopes to involve this child and drag her through the muck somehow, this would be way over the line and would blow up in the face of the Dem’s & NYT.

  25. Listening to the CBC radio news at 9 PM Sunday, it leads with these items:
    1. Short soundbite from Harper.
    2. Longer bloviation from Dion.
    3. Very long item on the glorious Duceppes!!!
    .. and nothing from head knee-dipper.
    So, are the CBC trying to fight Harper on the Quebec battleground. I’ll listen to the French version later.
