If David Orchard believes that under Stephane Dion’s leadership, the Liberals will fail in that mission, then David Orchard will work to defeat Stephane Dion so that someone else can take over who can get the job done.
    If Stephane Dion has managed to get himself on David Orchard’s bad side, then talking about the powers of the leader is just a way of further infuriating Orchard and his people.
    David Orchard would have no qualms about cleaving the Liberal Party into two — the elites versus the people — and then leading the fight of the people against the elite.
    Or perhaps Orchard will lead the people somewhere else. Maybe to the NDP? There would be some poetic justice in that, leaving ex-NDP Joan Beatty behind with her new elite Liberal friends.

  13. Quite a story developing about Ravishing Ruby Dhalla’s trek to India and having her bag snatched, apparently by two young boys. The boys were grabbed and apparently badly beaten. The tale goes on, we have not heard the whole story yet. No doubt it will be well doctored by the time we do.

  17. The link Neo gave to the CBC BC article on the repeated failure to deport an illegal refugee applicant was an eye opener. Yeah, the CBC made it sound like a human rights thing but the comments section really blew me away. Frikkin’ unreal. These leftoids see nothing wrong with getting into Canada via illegal means and anyone who disagrees is a heartless SOB and probably conservative to boot.

  18. I watch the CBC very seldom, but I am watching tonight to see if Krista Erickson is identified as the reporter in the Mulroney/Schreiber/Rodriguez/CBC/”Ethics Committee” boondoggle.
    So far, 20 minutes into The National with I’m-Peter-Mansbridge-and-you’re-not, nada, nothing, zilch.
    However, watching the CBC advertising itself at the interval, I caught Don Newman (of Don Newman’s Politics) saying earnestly into the camera: “The spin stops here.”
    Did I REALLY hear that? More magical thinking at the CEEB: “If we say it, it must be true and, hey, WE believe it!”

    Listening to Lars Larsen show on late night am 770 KTTH Seattle radio. This is a first person experience from the host Larsen. They were talking about Mexican border security.
    Lars said he and his wife were on a cruise around Mexico and they docked in at Mazatlan where they saw police and military on the docks wearing balaclavas. Pretty damn hot wearing those face coverings in the summertime, Lars thought..
    Turns out to be a huge drugs bust. FOUR shipping containers filled with clear plastic bags of pure white powder. Lars is a pretty crusty talk show host. Not the type to make things up, yet that*s the biggest drug bust I have ever heard of.
    Take it with a grain of salt, but with that kind of wealth, I can understand why balaclavas are used to keep the enforcer*s identities hidden. = TG

    Slag is a glassified matrix with about 2% mineral content or so says Teck Cominco.
