  6. I was at Wasaga this past summer for a Canada’s largetst paintball game. While some of the hillocks were kinda steep, none of them were much more than 10 or 15 metres high. Nothing I would want to try and ski down for sure.

    On the opposite side of Nottawasaga Bay is Collingwood about 30 Kms as the crow flies. beyond that another 20 km is the Georgian extension of the Niagara escarpment. I lived on the very top of that right above Blue Mountain for a year.
    Equating Wasaga with the mountain is the equivalent of equating Toronto Island with Buffalo New York!
    Not surprising though from CTV … I’ll bet the writer hasn’t been outside the 905 area in their entire life.

    “The fake bomb – which comprised three simulated pipe bombs wrapped in wire and a battery – was discovered by a security guard shortly after 6 p.m. outside the museum’s Bloor Street entrance. It was shortly before more than 2,000 guests were due to arrive for the Canadian Foundation for AIDS Research dinner, a $600-a-plate affair expected to raise hundreds of thousands of dollars.”

  13. On the subject of the Schreiber inquiry, am I the only one who thinks that the MSM and the Liberals are starting to sound very desperate?
    Even the National Post has headlines like, “Street-smart Schreiber readies to lob more bombshells”
    What bombshells??? Is the revelation that he was supposed to pay Mulroney $500,000 instead of $300,000 really a “bombshell”? Or is it more likely an act of desperation by a MSM that can’t stand the thought of a Conservative majority?
    I’m no fan of Mulroney, but as this circus expands its beginning to look more and more like a witchhunt. Especially when Peter McKay gets dragged into the fray, just because his father drafted a letter to Mulroney on behalf of Schreiber once upon a time.
    Then there was the CBC’s insinuation that Mulroney’s role as a director of Quebecor somehow influenced the present government’s decision to open the cellphone market to more competition.
    Any questions as to why Marc Lalonde would post bail for his huckster pal? Any questions as to what Robert Thibault was planning while visiting Schreiber in jail? Any questions as to why such an obviously biased participant as Thibault is allowed to sit on the same committee that is investigating Schreiber? Nah. All those people are Liberals and they’re beyond reproach apparently. But if you’ve ever so much as offered a passing “hello” to Brian Mulroney at any time in the last twenty years, as far as the MSM is concerned you’re obviously part of a criminal conspiracy on par with the Sopranos.
    At the centerpiece of all this is a Liberal dominated commons committee which sees no problem in allowing its star witness to answer only the questions which suit him, and which actually buys the nonsense that Schreiber needs “more time” to prepare, despite the fact that he’s already had over ten years to do so.
    If anyone asks me to sign a nomination paper for a Liberal candidate in the next election, I’m going to tell them to f*** off.

I think that people should be bombarding the “Ethics” Committee with letters asking that Robert Thibault be called as a witness to explain, in light of Garth Turner’s blog, his part in the Schreiber affair.Was Mr Thibault in any way responsible for Mr. Schreiber’s actions at the committee hearing yesterday? Was he coaching Schreiber? Is he in collusion with Schreiber in attempting to prevent deportation?

  23. Our new finance minister has released the mid-year report on the state of Saskatchewan’s finances and the projected deficits over the next four year aint pretty. The Finance Department is projecting an accumulated deficit over the next four years of some $4 Billion – thats with a “B” folks, deficit. No wonder Calvert and his cohorts did not want to have their election promises cost-verified by an independent third party. The NDP spending spree trying to buy their way back into power is coming home to roost. All this BS about leaving the province with $2Billion in the bank doesn’t take away from the fact that the NDP spending is simply not sustainable over the long-run and this means only one thing – tax increases and lots of them. And, the projected deficit figures does NOT include paying for Calvert’s unwanted universal drug plan.
    Now we really know who the “Wolf in sheep’s clothing” really is. None other than Lorne Calvert.

  25. By the way, Schreiber will probably achieve his agenda – to stay out of Germany and German courts. The Appeals Court has ordered a stay of his deportation until the Supreme Court decided on whether it will hear his appeal.
    And, according to Greenspan, his oily lawyer, that could take years. That would mean that Schreiber is NEVER sent back to his other country, German. He’s a citizen of German and Canada. They’ve been trying to try him for 8 years. So much for Canadian international justice.
    [By the way, Greenspan’s downtown Toronto office is just across the street from my condo. Using Liberal Guilt By Association logic, am I implicated in Greenspan’s nefarious dealings, and therefore, Schreiber’s, and therefore, Mulroney’s???? Just wondering.]

    Here on Vancouver Island, out behind Cumberland, central Island area, there are claims posts bearing the Standard Oil name.
    There are oil slicks on the swampwater surfaces around this area. There are unmentionable reserves like this all over the place.
    Burning oil is the current godmine of ExxonMobile and Chevron. They have the Golden goose pumps in place and we are the suckers who pump this smelly and unhealthy fuel into our cars while paying golden egg prices.
    Every little terrorist bomb blast feeds this wonderful rip-off machienery.
    Bio-fuels are just a diversion to extend use of oil and gas through various mixes..E10..E45..E85 etc.
    Governments love it too due to the fantastic cash flow.
    Electric Auto tech is here and practical today but ExxonMobile, Chevron and GM contribute to all political groups so resistance is extremely high. = TG

KHS answered “NO” to each question. He did say that Mulroney told him that the extradition was being taken care of,but he believes that Mulroney lied to him.     Funny, I don’t hear about Thibault and his Grit cronies saying we must have Mulroney testify; maybe because they know he will eat their lunch for them. Perhaps Thibault so go into meetings with Mr Mulroney too.

    We have two people, each accusing the other of lying, and we have to decide which one to believe.
