Why this blog?
Until this moment I have been forced to listen while media and politicians alike have told me "what Canadians think". In all that time they never once asked.
This is just the voice of an ordinary Canadian yelling back at the radio -
"You don't speak for me."

Great Ad, Way better then the NDP Idiot Ads
Good work, Kate.
The Sask Party doubtless enjoys having this site as one of its organs.
methinks the wolf looks Chinese.
I call foul.
“The Sask Party doubtless enjoys having this site as one of its organs.”
You’re kidding right?
Someone call the irony police.
what happened to the dipper ad?
with the fade to Porn etc?
Well, I’m glad that instead of addressing the concerns of Saskatchewan people such as why he holds all these Alberta fund-raisers, or how he ran the Country Music Hall of Fame in to the ground, or how many of his former employers have been identified as crooks, he tries to make light of the NDP attack ads and doesn’t actually mention the issues.
Well, he does mention Medicare briefly, but fails to explain his plan is for better service, or how exactly he’s going to recruit the much needed medical professionals. I give him an E for effort.
Not kidding.
Kate is one of the Sask Party’s featured cheerleaders, according to their own partisan webpage:
“Brad Wall is the real thing. A gifted speaker, he communicates with vision, optimism, conviction, humour, self deprecation – and apparently, without notes.”
“- Catherine McMillan of smalldeadanimals.com”
If the ‘irony police’ were indeed called, however, they might have some questions for someone who pretends to be the voice of the ordinary Canadian while so predictably speaking on behalf of the interests of the powerful and the status quo.
I’m kinda disappointed. Where’s the porn?
good old Youtube has it.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5XuBMZswHP4
still think mr wolf looks chinese.
Has Bwad said if the Health Premiums that he is going to charge EVERY Saskatchewan resident will be higher or lower then the premiums charged in Alberta? We are anxious to hear some real substantive things from this guy not the kind of mindless crap this ad contains!
What a loser!!
Hey goofballs:
Kate has never claimed that she didn’t prefer Brad Wall over that moron you’ve currently got running your province into the ground.
Too bad our Gary Doofus, err, Doer, has been taking lessons from Calvert, and too bad the same scare tactics that Calvert is using worked here in Manitoba.
Wow, the lefties are going nuts today. The comments here and on other threads sound either desperate or juvenile.
I’ve been tempted to take them on, but it is so funnier to see them trying to provoke a response when ignored. Every pat phrase and talking point is spewed out, they are beyond help.
I guess it must be yet another day off at the government computer for these folks.
They’d starve without us, so I guess that’s why they are so shrill.
Yes Brad Wall is a really nice guy and we should all vote for him. Not me. It takes more than a football and wholesome image to sway me. It’ll take more than a makeover. How far ahead is the Sask party supposed to be? We haven’t heard much lately. Maybe they’re not that much ahead.
Don’t under-rate wholesome, or football for that matter. This can, and probably will work very well for Brad.
Great ad. They need to keep Brad in front of the camera, he comes across very well.
Ads cost money, get out your checkbooks!
You’re already paying for the NDP ads through their sleazy redirecting of tax dollars.
At least the SaskParty’s star candidate is their leader.
The NDP’s star candidate is a computer-generated wolf.
Doesn’t say much for Calvert, does it?
Here’s a link to Tommy Douglas’s thesis on Eugenics. print off a copy and drop off in your lunch room at work.
http://www.geocities.com/ryan_rados/TC_douglas_thesis.html
Maybe a copy of the Regina Manifesto should go with it. It’s listed as an ‘asset’.
http://www.saskndp.com/assets/File/history/manifest.pdf
“…..while so predictably speaking on behalf of the interests of the powerful and the status quo.”
See, this is why no one is going to take you seriously this time. You can’t just make **** up. (anymore)
poor sad old dippers, Calvert thinks getting new teeth and his hair dyed will chase away the original tired old NDP image, you can varnish as much as you want but the original is still old!!!
As political ads go, it’s not bad, at least not offensive, like some I’ve seen.
Well thought out commercial, keep it light, show some kids, and a football. The ad agency did their job all right, maybe the NDP should talk to them.
Nicely done. It’s all contrived by advertising professionals and focus grouped of course, but so what? Pity the sheep dippers didn’t have the same sense before they fired up the photoshop program. Football is better than porn.
It really should be pointed out the level of discourse coming from the left in Saskatchewan. Take leftdog for example. Note the spelling (Bwad) indicating a speech issue. Very telling. Next, a piece of the Hidden Agenda(TM) revealed. Lastly, an ad hominem attack.
BTW:want to be taken seriously leftdog? Read this:
http://www.grammartips.homestead.com/than.html
Ahhhhhh….finally a figurehead with personality. I got a little bit of a warm feeling watching that.
The NDP are stuck in the “Liberal-esque” style “We are not Americans” advertising. Cudos on imitating your contemporaries.
Oh, and to the NDP reading this right now – putting Calvert on camera would be about as smart as putting Chretien on camera. Neither one should be making speeches.
…i wish Saskatchewan the best in the upcoming election.
Is any one else disguested by all the Dipper Gov of Sk ads on Sk tv?
just like the last election, when they did the “future wide open” propaganda before and during the election, within the province: out tax dollars at work!
how can the dipper apologists trolling this site defend crap like this? Like Chavez and Putin, Calvert is using his oil windfall (Lorne has potash and uranium too!) to cling to power.
I for one think that is an excellent ad. Brad comes across very sincere and personable. Makes sense to discount all the crap on those coyote NDP ads. Best way to turn it back on those clowns is to continue to discount everything they say. Keep turning the screw. We are not afraid to go heads up with those idiots. Keep pointing out how ridculous they are and continue to play it straight.
One reason I want them to win is just so Leftdog, Laddie, Hubich, Joe K, Steven, OK4ua, Sean, and the rest of the Leftard bloggers all have to get real jobs out of the civil service. As Bugs Bunny would say “what a bunch of maroons”!
Hey…how about we help these fools out by coining our own slogans about what will happen to Saskatchewan if Brad Wall is elected…toungue in check of course
…Saskatchewan’s borders will be redrawn and start just north of P.A. everything else will go to Alberta.
…after a general house cleaning of NDP supporters there will be about 50,000 openings in the provincial civil service.
…the Saskatchewan Federation of labour will be replaced by the Canadian Federation of Independent Business.
…the Sask party will close all the Indian casino’s throwing thousands and thousands and thousands of natives out of work.
Come on I’m sure there are people more talented than I to come up with some good one-liners for Brad to use in future ads.
…how about
“vote me and people will learn how to spell and say Saskatchewan properly”
…or American tourists
Don’t forget all the alignment shops closing when we have smooth roads! Also, we don’t have enough people to deal with prosperity-look at Alberta, those poor bastards! (I like Brad’s ad, and BTW, this is Kate’s blog, she can post whatever the hell she likes.)
Good ad, nice to see the Sask/Con Party staying above the fray for the time being….
Wow the lefties have started their desperate attacks, on SDA of all places..
They smell fear. They smell change. And they’re not liking it one bit.
Tells me that the ad really works. Seems to have hit a nerve.
A raw nerve.
Heh.
What does Brad mean about not being a Stamps fan??
I bet deep down he bleeds RED!!
Go Stamps!!
(OK, Go Jolly Green as well, it is about time something good happened for you fans!!)
BTW, I don’t have a stake in who runs Sask. So only inane coments from me 😉
Cheers
Time for another reminder that the Riders have never won the Grey Cup while the NDP have been in power.
Next theme for Sask Party ads: We’ll open the books. Isthere something we don’t know?
Just the instigator in me, trying to liven things up… maybe.
It’s a pretty good ad. A little sappy, but that’s ok. The NDP’s negative ad is only likely to appeal to their base anyways. This is more likely to have a broad appeal. The Sask party doesn’t really have to go hard with the negative ads until the middle of the writ period.
It’s funny to note people like leftdog, and Stephen’s absolute obsession with Kate and anything she posts on her own personal blog. I have a feeling that they are really afraid of this site. Last time I checked she wasn’t running in the provincial election.
It really all comes down to the NDP record of inept government laced with incompentence, scandal, failure in medicare (they talk a great game)cronyism, no leadership and on and on. They know they have no record to run on so they use their tried and true track of fear and smear. What the Numb Dumb Pri-ks haven’t realized is that today’s Saskatchewan voter knows better.
Brad Wall has captured the imagination of today’s Saskatchewan voter. They know that he is honest, imaginative, innovative, creative and has a plan to launch our province into a future that is exciting and prosperous. The NDP is stuck in reverse gear and the wise voter knows it. We will not be duped by these 19th century backwood boys again! So, keep going with your laughable stupied ads. Put some padding on your backsides because you are going to get a good old fashioned butt kicking in the next election.
“My, what big teeth he has.”
All the better to EAT you with, my dear! Hahahaha! Sorry Kate, I couldn’t resist! 😉
Is it just me or is something weird with the formatting of this post (or rather the comments thereof?)
I love the ad.
I’ve met both Lorne and Brad and I can tell you this much…Brad is as sincere in person as he is in the commercial. There was no posturing, no acting, no game face in that commercial. That’s just the way he is.
Having met Lorne a few times face to face, I always thought he was a sincere little fellow. Sure, he speaks like we’re all part of his congregation, but I never knew he was our shepherd!
I feel so sheepish for being lured in by a man of the cloth.
Kick his ass back to the pulpit Brad. While your at it, maybe you could find Patty a man…maybe that’ll settle her down a bit!
Stan @ 10.19 pm
thank you for posting this address.
I had thought the “Douglas family” was preventing this from being copied in its entirity from McMaster University. I suppose an election regarding what is truly scary is as good a time as any to talk about this crap.
I like this ad, it speaks to normal people.
Football coach? Awesome. Football is great training for life. Teamwork, leadership, and givin’ er. Boys who don’t play contact sports grow up to be socialists, it’s a fact.
So we see Brad Wall! A community minded leader and the future premier of this province!
Let’s please take a look at the NDP.
Lorne (the invisible man) Calvert. After 12 years as leader he finally realized that he qualified for the provincial dental plan. ( DO YOU?)
Pat Atkinson.. (Mr. Carrier is entitled to his entitlement), Deb Higgins (Clean up on aisle 4), Sandra Morin, ( I said aisle 5), Glen Hagel,( there is no theft, ask Mr Fody), Graham Addley ( We have lot’s of beds.. in 2010), Buckley Belanger(these kids were always safe under my care), Kevin Yates(Calvert can’t lead this party), Eldon Laudermilch (the less people in the province, the more for the rest of us.. screw spudco.. I didn’t do it, and as highway minister, these highways are first class), Mark Wortman ( Quite frankly, farmers piss me off!) and on it goes.
Who in their right mind in Saskatchewan would vote for Tommy 2 and the NDP?
The Saskatchewan Democratic Action Party response to the SaskParty Fall 2007 Advertising Spot:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XvhWxtuG8jk
Sigh.
I’ve seen this “response”. Juvenile, false and misleading. Learn to spell excerpt.
Wow, Saskatchwan Party Leader AND a minor football coach! He is sooo wholesome, just what I’m looking for in a candidate!….oh, and maybe some substantive policies as a distant second.
Its an ad made by people who think they’ll win the election if they just smile, look nice, and don’t say anything substantive that would reveal their ideology or their policies.
A Cooper: “I’ve seen this “response”. Juvenile, false and misleading. Learn to spell excerpt.”
1) “Juvenile” is not an argument.
2) In what way is it false and misleading? If you want to make an argument, you have to address this.
Juvenile is most certainly an argument. They’ve blatantly ripped off a Sask Party ad, using incorrect spelling in the process. If they wish to be taken with any degree of seriousness, they have to do better than that.
False– $15 billion dollar debt. You don’t want to go there, because you’ll just look silly.
Misleading–that Brad Wall’s economic advice led to a $15 billion dollar debt. No context, just innuendo.
You’re not bright enough to play this game exile.
Last election in 2003, Calvert was shocked when he won.
This time he will be totally unshocked when he loses.
That’s why so many of his cabinet have already jumped ship.
Call the election Lorne, and get the inevitable out of the way!
