  1. I don’t have time to blog about this, but is anyone else incensed that the Korean women being released by the Taliban as part of the South Korean capitulation to terrorism have their heads covered, similar to the British female soldier held captive in Iran? Further, if you watch the videos of their release, that they keep the Islamic head dress on even after their capture, i.e. in the back of vans, etc.?
One wonders if they completely converted.

  2. There is a cave in a village in Slovakia in the center of Europe. One of the natural features in the cave is called ‘woman’s dream’. If you have a look perhaps you will catch the drift. Now nobody gets upset this is one hundred % creation of nature.
If you go to http://www.bukova.sk/, click on ‘Fotogaleria’ and go down to row fifteen in the right column.

  3. The Canadian media jumped all over this trumped up report by CP yesterday:

Senlis finds starving kids but little evidence of Canadian aid in Kandahar

So an agenda driven group of Eurotrash Anti-War Activists riding on government grants (fortunately not Canadian money) goes looking for problems and finds them!
Canadian Press …. which should more rightfully be called “Consistent Propagandist” writes up a typical biased criticism of our efforts and ALL the Canadian Media run with it.
CBC/CTV etal just keep on pumping out the criticism without ever reporting the progress.
BTW- the video used by CBC in their report was OLD … nothing to do with the actual current situation…….

  4. Credit for this goes to: Gordon O’Connor, Conservative MP, Carleton-Mississippi Mills, Ont.
Thank you, Mr. O’Connor. Well done. You are a good and faithful servant of Canada.

Canadian C-17’s first landing smooth at Kandahar airport
KANDAHAR, Afghanistan (CP) — In the pitch darkness of night, the Canadian military’s new C-17 transport plane touched down softly at Kandahar Military Airport on Wednesday in southern Afghanistan.
The pilots landed the giant carrier with its lights extinguished, guided solely by night-vision goggles.
“We took a tactical approach with the night-vision goggles, with the airplane lights turned off, with the engines idling,” said Maj. Jean Maisonneuve, chief check pilot at 429 Transport Squadron, 8 Wing, in Trenton, Ont.
“In a way, we’re sort of pioneers.” […]
“This plane will have a positive impact on the morale of the troops. Speaking with my colleagues, I can tell you that everyone is happy to know that we have modern tools at our disposal and a better (transport) capacity than before,” he said.
The C-17, a four-engine military transport plane built by Boeing, is phenomenal….-

what exactly is steven truscott celebrating?
and what’s all the buzz about compensation?
“The task of demonstrating innocence is particularly difficult in this case
where in addition to the passage of almost a half-century since the crime,
certain immutable facts cast some suspicion on the appellant.”

“He was the last known person to see the victim alive and was
with her at a location very close to where she was murdered.”

“At this time, and on the totality of the record, we are in no position to
make a declaration of innocence. Indeed, we are not satisfied that an
acquittal would be the only reasonable verdict.”

note: that’s the court talking… not me.

  6. Good point, Lee. I am just trying to come to grips with a Christian submitting to Islam. I’ll have to leave it between them and God, I guess, but it occurs to me that others in the present and the past have been willing to die rather than submit.

  7. Watching Dion address Liberal caucus Live on CTV Newsnet. The applause from his own caucus is so tepid that his days have to be numbered.
The usual stuff, Harper is Bush, Conservatives hate gays, anti-American jabs, says economy sucks despite 5.2% growth, Conservatives hate Indians and culture, “President” Stephen Harper not in-NO-va-tive, builds firewalls. Threatens to topple government over Afghanistan operation his government initiated.
Now he’s on a Liberal values = Canadian values kick. Stick a fork in this poor man.

  8. I am reading this: http://www.theglobeandmail.com/servlet/story/LAC.20070830.MILLIONS30/TPStory/National
In 2002, the Forces signed a contract with Air Canada Technical Services to maintain its five CC-150 Polaris aircraft, based on an annual total of 6,500 flying hours.
The planes flew fewer than 5,000 hours a year on average during that period, but the Forces still paid for the full maintenance package.
“The contract does not currently allow adjustments based on the actual [yearly flying hours], which averaged only 4,753 per year in the first three years of the contract,” the audit said.
The audit, which was recently posted on the website of the Department of National Defence, said that over the first three years of the contract, the Canadian Forces paid up to $4.1-million for “underutilized support capability.”
The contract, which is now in its first of five option years, continues to be based on 6,500 hours of flying time a year. Auditors said changing that to an average of 5,000 flying hours a year could “achieve savings in the order of $7-million at today’s labour rate.”

And when I check the company web site: http://www.acts.com/Webpages/webpage.aspx?wId=1
I notice that EVERYONE on the Executive of this 70 year old company is new – having been hired since the beginning of 2006.
Why do I suspect something fishy is going on????

  9. Gord–this all took place under the Liberal scamming days. It is a good thing that all the people in charge are new–meaning probably not Liberal brown envelope passers.
neo–all the evidence collected in the Truscott case has been destroyed. That stinks of cover-up. How could he be proven innocent if all the evidence collected is gone?

  10. Gord–this all took place under the Liberal scamming days. It is a good thing that all the people in charge are new–meaning probably not Liberal brown envelope passers.

That is my suspicion too… Methinks the government should get the names of the previous Executive then cross reference them to the Liberal Party of Canada….

  11. Hey Andrew,I too watched that train wreck of a speech, and noted same tepid response..maybe they just didn’t understand him! It was almost impossible to discern some of what he was saying. The thing that bothered me today, was hot on the heels of report on CTV Nat.News last eve, about the sharp drop of US visitors to Canada, and here is Dion, next day bashing Americans again.
I live in a small Man.town, very close to US border.residents here have full access to US medical care, due to the close proximity of US hosp, and the great distance to medical facility in Man.We also, have lge.amt of Americans come here to fish, the Polaris guys come here to ‘test’their Quads,Sno-mo’s etc.and they spend money in the hotels, restaurants, fishing supplies etc. They ARE aware of the rabid anti-US sentiments of some politicians, and some have chosen to ignore it,some refuse to put their ‘dirty US money’ into our local businesses.A lot of the locals depend on this money, the fishing lodges are hurting (and I know this,as my husband flew float-plane for one of them)I just don’t understand why Dion and the Libs,as well as the Layton losers, keep slamming our neighbours…and they are good neighbours. They are just like you,and me in majority of their ways, and shouldn’t be demonized.I was deeply offended when Dion keeps referring to PMSH as ‘President ‘Arper..isn’t he after the same title?Just a disgusting performance by Dion this a.m.

  12. Sammy, it sells well to the retards in Toronto.
I’m a Canadian, but a few times I’ve had to run around Hogtown with a US license plate on my truck. Home for the holidays, y’know.
Lets just say Americans don’t get a good experience on Toronto’s highways.

  13. Les Macpherson has a great column on the Canadian War Museum’s exhibit on bomber Command and how they claim it was ineffective.
Les has a simple solution, one that must not have occurred to the curators; ask the Germans.
“Asked why Germany lost the war, Gen. Gerd von Rundstedt, commander of German forces on the western front, cited three factors: Fuel shortages, Allied air superiority and the systematic destruction of railways that “made it impossible to bring even one single railroad train across the Rhine.” All three were a direct result of the Allied bomber offensive.
Someone else who would know was Gen. Georg Thomas, then the German army’s chief of production. “Without strategic bombing,” he said, “the war would have lasted years longer.””
    It’s well worth a read.

  14. Mark Peters, just remember that anyone can be broken given enough time. How long it takes is the only variable.
Al Scumda has had those women captive more than long enough to convert them to drooling catatonics, never mind convert them to Islam. Somebody’s going to have a hell of a job nursing them back to health.
Cut the poor girls some slack, eh?

  15. Phantom: I don’t believe for a second that “anyone can be broken.” History and present day Christian martyrs prove that assertion false.
Further, I don’t believe al-Qaeda is no more radical or manipulative than, say, the Chinese political police, who imprison, torture and kill thousands of Christians every year. And it isn’t just China; tens of thousands of Christians die the world over every year due to oppression and abuse by state or faction minions. These Korean men and women were in captivity for a moment compared to some of their brothers and sisters elsewhere.
Look, I don’t doubt these Koreans had a rough time and their plight does evoke sympathy from me. But their acquiescence to Islam’s symbols of submission stand in stark contrast to the testimony and stalwartness of others. As a Christian, I wonder why hundreds of Chinese Christians would rather face imprisonment and death than submit to the Chinese state, whereas this crew of Koreans readily don the hijab rather than endure further captivity and possibly death. What is different about their respective faiths? Can we chalk it up to decadence? Perhaps they weren’t coerced into wearing it at all? I really don’t know. I’m just puzzled at the contrast.

mark contests… “anyone can be broken.”

when they put the blowtorch on your balls.
this whole korean debacle was self-inflicted injury
by a bunch of delusional leftbots.
    they did it to themselves

  17. Doubt the poor captives were worried about what they were wearing, getting out of the situation alive would be the only concern.
The horrible dregs brutally MURDERED two of their people for no reason. The Korean government has already said they will leave the mission at the specified date. It’s simply a sick Islamist cult, brainwashed to insanity and inhumanity, doing what they’re programmed to do.
Instead of working to isolate them, we bring them here to live among us in the civilized world.
These naive Christian Missionaries going off to propagate the faith where it is totally unsafe and hopelessly impossible is more evidence we just don’t get the message.

  19. “POOP-HIDING BIRD NEW LIBERAL SYMBOL?” (Bourque)
Excrement-hiding bird championed as Liberal symbol
    Canadian Press
ST. JOHN’S, N.L. — The beaver is one of Canada’s national symbols and now a senior Liberal wants to make the puffin the symbol of the country’s self-proclaimed natural governing party.
Liberal deputy leader Michael Ignatieff says the industrious little seabird — with its black and white plumage, distinctive striped beak and orange feet — is a “noble” creature that exemplifies Liberal values. […]
“They lay one egg (each year). They put their excrement in one place. They hide their excrement. … They flap their wings very hard and they work like hell.
“This seems to me a symbol for what our party should be.”

  20. Antiracism and Ethnocultural Equity in School Boards
    http://www.edu.gov.on.ca/eng/document/curricul/antiraci/antire.html
    p. 14: Teachers in all curriculum areas should recognize
the importance of the language the student
already speaks. Competence in the first language
provides students with the foundation for developing
proficiency in additional languages, and maintenance
of the first language supports the acquisition
of other languages. The first language also
serves as a basis for emotional development and
provides a vital link with students’ ancestral heritage.
    Multilingualism enhances students’ intellectual
functioning and the ability to communicate,
as well as their career opportunities.

    – Ghost of a flea.

  22. Ignatieff is a russian last name. He should have known that Russian for puffin is ‘tupick’, from the word ‘tupoy’, i.e. dumb, dull, stupid.
I wonder how it is reflective of LPC that they lay one egg a year…

  25. Re: Ontario Corporate Welfare:
In Alberta this use of taxpayer’s money to subsidize private businesses was forbidden by law by the Klein government about 10 years ago.
The doom and gloomers screeched that without taxpayer money there would be businesses going under, blah blah blah.
Instead Klein created business friendly tax incentives; government business management resources; and established sustainable economic development programs for key industries and regions.
They tried to streamline regulations and gave startups tax breaks instead of taxpayer money.
There are still REPAYABLE business loans through Alberta Opportunity Company and some Federal programs. Taxpayer’s money is used for the public- not private shareholders.
Guess what happened? Well, there are no Bombardiers here who get billions in taxpayers money; pay their board members millions and still post huge losses.
There are no whimperings from the likes of Buzz Hargrove and General Motors for taxpayers to subsidize their jobs.
Instead, there is incredible economic activity without the iffy and suspect buying of votes with public funds that McGuinty is campaigning with.
Do you think this could work in other provinces?

  26. Well, well it appears that some of our youngsters aren’t buying the multi-culti dogma. The little rascals defied the enforcers :
“It happened Tuesday in a classroom at Holy Family High School, the Catholic school that sits at the corner of 144th Avenue and Sheridan Boulevard in Broomfield.”
“The classroom discussion started with the question: Why do students need to learn Spanish?”
“According to the Archdiocese of Denver, the conversation soon became about immigration and it turned ugly.”
“It became a heated discussion and some rhetoric was used that was inappropriate for the classroom,” said Jeanette DeMelo, spokesperson for the Archdiocese of Denver.”
“At least one e-mail sent to 9NEWS said that students started a chant of “white power” and some said that all Mexicans should go back to Mexico.”
