  1. Two points here …
    1. don’t watch the CBC anytime for anything
    2. football games are all pretty much the same … Get over it.
But keep telling the guv to can the people’s network. it truly is an evil place run by perverts and commies.

  2. Huge difference between CFL games on TSN, and CBC. CBC shouldn’t bother, and when they lose HNIC, there’ll be nothing left to bother with on that network.
Maybe reruns of Prairie Giant will placate the faithful??

  3. Who are the CORPORATE SPONSORS of “Hock. Nite in Can”? It used be Esso Oil and Ford. Is it still?
A bit of pressure and internet badmouthing may influence these companies to change their tune as far as cozying up to the CBC. Especially when Ford is losing ground steadily to the Japanes and now the CHINES are enterring the market.
Maybe we can make the CBC’s ONLY profitable show less successful . . .

  4. I’ll be glad when TSN takes over production of all of the games. The stupidest thing that I noticed last night wasn’t that they didn’t keep broadcasting the game on some stations last night, it’s that I listened the CKRM broadcasting through the blackout, they were using cell phones and land lines to stay on the air. Watching CBC, as soon as the power went out, BAM they went to Just for Laughs and a movie. So my question is… was their “panel” in the stadium too? Couldn’t they have gone to the panel for discussion, keep on the air, keep people interested throughout the delay? Weren’t these people being paid to give analysis throughout the game?
Just my thought… 2008 can’t come soon enough.

  5. there must be at least 7 or 8 people who actually care in the least.
if the west ever separates, i pray they’ll take the CFL with them. yawn.
    that’s right… i went there.

  6. “About Me
    Name: Jeff Davidson
    Location: Toronto, Ontario, Canada”
    Well that explains that post.

  7. Won’t just be the wrath of those who like green n’ white… This Esks fan was pretty ticked last night (and not just at his own team…). The quality of the broadcast was poor BEFORE the blackout in the fourth quarter: sound issues, not showing the score, cutting from one camera to anonther one not facing the play, little crap like that…

  8. CBC should outright lose the remaining games this season. That was by far the worst game ever.
From Walby’s “Climax” joke, to Armitage’s interview with Austin at the half. “Your offense took a while to get going.”, after they scored on the opening possession. I don’t think Marble Mouth Millington ever actually completed a sentence, did he?
The worst though was not finishing the broadcast except on CBC Regina. That is absolutely inexcusable. It isn’t like Mansbridge was having another sissy fight about The National being delayed, they played “Just for Laughs” and a bad Nick Nolte movie.
    Inexcusable.

  9. Surely a woman’s right to choose includes whether to fund the CBC. Let’s make TV choice a left-wing issue so that even the CBC jumps on the bandwagon.

  10. While not a witness to the latest fiasco, it doesn’t surprise me in the least that the quality of the CBC sports has gone down hill. Far be it for them to listen to their audience and how dare the viewer complain.
I also notice that those who are not fans of the riders or CFL also had to put in their two cents worth. Really droll dudes. As for Jeff = Toronto, well that does explain a lot to me. Maybe he should take the matter up with his MP or MLA.

  11. Remember to tell your friends that the Rough Riders have never won the Grey Cup while the NDP have been in power provincially.
Perhaps it’s the culture of mediocrity that is acceptable to the socialist drones.

  12. Jeff, in T.O., How do you reconcile the fact that Toronto salivates every time an American pro team shows an interest in playing in T.O. with your town’s hatred of everything American? Are you not afraid that a NFL team in Toronto will bring in handguns and possibly the dreadful fans who voted for Bush?

  13. isn’t that the truth, Wally? For a “world class” city, those Torontonians certainly spend a lot of time and effort seeking validation from American sports leagues.

  14. (Remember to tell your friends that the Rough Riders have never won the Grey Cup while the NDP have been in power provincially)
One thing to say about that comment, By the time the Grey cup game is on the NDP will be out of office and the saskparty will be in.

  15. My biggest frustration with this whole thing is that the CBC used my tax money to get the rights to do this game then decided they didn’t have the viewers to return to the game in my area.
The only reason they had any viewers for the movie was that people left the TV on (but muted) waiting for the game to come back on.
“That’s the CBC for you…” Dave Hodge
    Now where’s my pencil.

  16. To Stan – it’s Roughriders, NOT Rough Riders.
To huffb1 – that explains why Saskatchewan lost the 1997 Grey Cup.

  17. It aired when the truck was back up and running in Regina. Oddly, only on CBC Regina. CBC Regina airs country wide on Star Choice. Theoretically, everyone in SK could pick the game up and everyone else with Star Choice could have seen it.
Overall, a really bad choice on CBC’s part to not ditch the movie nationwide.
