  4. i just read the release on the whitmore case, simply disgusting. Those boys are scarred for life & the parents had to spare them the agony of facing the animal that attacked them. It is time Canadians tell these SOFT ON CRIME politicians, change the laws to protect the innocent or we will change you.
    Although i do not agree with making a deal with the devil i do agree with the what these parents had to do.

  5. So CBC News has apparently decided that we are about to experience “Another Season of Political Turmoil”!
    I was watching CBC Morning News today and caught a segment where the breathless an emotional interviewer made an astoundingly theatrical performance while spoonfeeding the guest all the scripted talking points he could handle.
    The guest was of course a Social Activist (in this case from Toronto) with an axe to grind about how law enforcement policies have been proven not to work and of course we need to get to root causes in order to understand a solve the problems that lead to gang and gun violence.
    In my effort to get background on this show and people involved I found this:

    apparently the first kid he shot was deductable.

    Ever heard the concept of “moving” to get out of these neighbourhoods? Maybe spending less money on elaborate hairdos and expensive sneakers, and saving up for a downpayment on a house somewhere else? No way–that’s crazy talk!
    No I haven’t spent more than a week in LA, and don’t see why that city is your standard for human behaviour. That was one of your lamest responses, and that’s really saying something.
    Luckily I saw LA when it was still mostly white but now it is a write off. Still don’t understand why there’s a child up at 1AM, in LA or Toronto. Decent people don’t live like that. Just that simple.
    I’m sorry you can’t accept the fact that your culture is disfunctional. If you don’t want people like us pointing it out, take it up with your homies and start acting right. Until then, expect more mockery, criticism and the like.

    When Peter Whitmore (a white guy) acts evil, his actions are considered an abberation by The White Culture and he is punished (although not as much as he should be). He is not a hero. He doesn’t get a record contract or a movie role.
    When two black kids kill another black kid, they are “acting black” and “keeping it real”, living out what they hear in their favourite songs — and turning them in is denounced as snitching. They’ll be punished — and as we’ve seen in today’s paper, let out to commit more crimes.
    It isn’t just a matter of who does what and what colour they are — it is how the perp’s respective cultures reward, encourage and/or condemn evil before and after the evil occurs.
    Yes, that guy at V-Tech was S. Korean. You heard his family’s response. They are completely ashamed and his sister was suicidal. This will affect their standing in their community for generations. They didn’t say, ‘Oh my poor son dint do nuthin’! You white folks are just picking on us!! Racism, racism!’

    Other than an opinion expressed I could not find anything in this story (proof) that points to humans as the cause of rainfall patterns moving north away from the equator. A model was used and human influence data was included. It does not explain how they “data” breaks down. This report comes from our unbiased folks at Environment Canada. They wouldn’t fudge data would they?

  31. Actually, Oliver Mowat was, by far, the best premier in Ontario history. Do a little reading before you vote. Mowat fought hard and successfully for provincial resource rights and, by the end of his term as premier, had won several important cases at the Privy Council that changed Confederation from an Ottawa-centric to a true federal system.
    Keep in mind that what the Liberals of the 19th century stood for — secular schools, free trade, provincial rights, Western development — are pretty much the same as what Tories stand for now. The Tories of the 19th century believed in big handouts to railways, centralized government, and trade protectionism.
