The trick is that there is overall structure or form of colour and shapedistribution on the artists’ pictures, the ape’s pictuires are bunched together splodges – really.
The “work” of the hairier ape deinitely has a more random quality. I wish I had saved some of the newspaper used by the family parakeet [RIP]. Limited palette, but what texture.
