The Kool Aid Campaign

ROSIE O’DONNELL: You know, I didn’t ask if they believed in Jesus, but I did read the books because I was fascinated by it, you know. And then Kelli, like, hid them from me, you know.
JOY BEHAR: Why?
O’DONNELL: because she thinks I’m likely to join anything, which is true, you know.
BEHAR: You do have that cult personality.
O’DONNELL: I do. Remember the Jim Jones thing? I’m five seconds away from drinking the Kool Aid singing, “Kumbaya,” you know. Honestly, it’s like I have a little bit of that.
[…]
JOY BEHAR: Well, the one thing is that Giuliani post-9/11 appeared to be very heroic. But now they’re saying that he was not that efficient in helping the people who were the recovery– the responders.
O’DONNELL: Also, he was, you know, instrumental in making sure that all of the steel was removed and shipped to Canada right away, Giuliani– was shipped to China, sorry, right away.
BEHAR: For what purpose?
O’DONNELL: Well, to get it out of there and to have, you know, all of the stu — but it was all gone. So there was no like metal to test. There was no, there was no-
ELISABETH HASSELBECK: Giuliani was involved in the cover-up is that what’s going on? I just want to check.

  1. I actually caught this flipping through the channels.
I was happy to see Hasselbeck burn O’Donnell so well. She looked positively confident.
It would be nice if she got some training on the conspiracies so she can take Rosie down again and again and again.
Ridicule is the cure. Rosie is the disease.

  4. Hey! that Kool-Aid package was a great idea!
The View is not on my list of television viewing. However, it would have been interesting to see how the Witches of Eastwick acted when Elisabeth returned from the white tie dinner.
You know, President Bush and the First Lady had the first white tie dinner of their presidency in honor of Her Majesty and Prince Phillip.
As it happens, Elisabeth Hasselbeck and her husband (an NFL player) were invited, and the invitation list was not huge either.
Now the President, the First Lady, and Her Majesty are just the sort of topics that the Witches of Eastwick salivate over.
So it was the panel’s only conservative who actually had this distinction, and Rosie would have to sit there while Elisabeth chatted about those little private moments with the queen, the recipes that she and Laura Bush exchanged, etc., etc.
And of course the Blowhard Girls would simply have to sit there and watch the conservative bask in the entree that all this provided, knowing full well that they were all distinctly not on the list.

  5. There are a lot of unanswered and unsatifactory answerd questions concerning the 9/11 attacks which are resonable and articulate…it is unfortunate that moonbats thike ODonnel have become attached to the 9/11 truth movement…it started out as a plausable inquiry from some very credible professionals then it took on a life of its own as every Bush hating twinke from the d-zone glomed onto it as a vehicle to Hurt Bush and spread some patently untrue “conclusions”…If I didn’t know the nature of moon bats I’d suspect 9/11 truth was saboutaged on perpose by incredulous media buffiins taking it up like a cause.
The prime goal of 9/11 truth was to force an independent investigation into several areas the official report neglected or had no solid information…I think that is a good cause…it is unfortunate that the Hate-Bush monbat fringe has hijacked the original intent of the movement.

  6. Who the hell would waste precious life time watching that stupid vacuous pack of silly dames?
Send them some Kool Aid and be sure they drink it.

  7. WL Mac R,
Well said. I can see value in getting more info so we can better plan our responses to other emergencies. There were indeed problems of management, communications, coordination, etc. and I’m sure engineering issues as well.
Most of that potentially valuable insight is probably lost forever due to the raving loons who put politics ahead of security.

  8. My god, I had no idea dyeing wool was so dangerous.
Well! I’ll certainly be sure to sever any relationship I have with beat juice.

  9. Ahem. Sorry about that. Of course, I meant beet juice. There’s no possibility of my severing my relationship with beat juice (in the musical sense of beat). Or if I may paraphrase Lady Constance de Covalot in the classic 1967 production The Curse of the Flying Wombat, by the I’m Sorry I’ll Read that Again troupe, featuring Bill Oddie, Graeme Garden, Tim Brooke-Taylor, David Hatch, Jo Kendall, and the inimitable John Cleese: I like a little rhythm.

  10. Giving Rosie a large stage is perfect, she will commit career suicide within two years. She’s not as smart as she thinks she is (none of us is as smart as she thinks she is). More air time for Rosie will only expose her bigotry and foolishness to the masses.

  11. The prime goal of 9/11 truth was to force an independent investigation into several areas the official report neglected or had no solid information…I think that is a good cause…it is unfortunate that the Hate-Bush monbat fringe has hijacked the original intent of the movement.
True, but don’t forget there’s another lunatic fringe who’ve been drinking Bush Kool-aid ever since 9-11.
At approximately 8:48 a.m. on the morning of September 11, 2001, the first pictures of the burning World Trade Center were broadcast on live television. The news anchors, reporters, and viewers had little idea what had happened in lower Manhattan, but there were some people who did know. By that time, the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), the North American Aerospace Defense Command (NORAD), the National Military Command Center, the Pentagon, the White House, the Secret Service, and Canada’s Strategic Command all knew that three commercial airplanes had been hijacked. They knew that one plane had been flown deliberately into the World Trade Center’s North Tower; a second plane was wildly off course and also heading toward Manhattan; and a third plane had abruptly turned around over Ohio and was flying back toward Washington, DC.
So why, at 9:03 a.m.—fifteen minutes after it was clear the United States was under terrorist attack—did President Bush sit down with a classroom of second-graders and begin a 20-minute pre-planned photo op? No one knows the answer to that question. In fact, no one has even asked Bush about it.
Three possible answers occur to me. Either he’s the most stupid and incompetent president ever to fill a chair in the Oval Office, or else he had a pretty good idea what was going on and he wanted the attack to be completed so he could use the resulting emergency to enhance his power and push through his agenda. Or it’s a little of column A and a little of column B – Bush is the stupidest idiot ever, and Cheney wanted the attack to be completed.
Any of you got a better explanation? Let’s hear it.

  12. Ugh – please wipe the drool off your chin. If you REALLY think Bushitler “planned” or “knew in advance”, you do not deserve anything but scorn and contempt. You really should try to distinguish between assertions (like the ones you made) and facts and arguments.
    You make Rosie look intelligent.

  13. “You make Rosie look intelligent.”
And that’s no easy task, but Mr. ugh Moore attempts are valiant.

  14. Well at least Bush wasnt in the oval office with an intern named Monica while giving away classified secrets to China over the phone in exchange for election money.Clinton knew about the hijackers taking flying lessons and plotting to use them in the way they did and chose not to do anything about it.How come you dont ask those questions about him?

  15. Why do so many people think Bush could do a cover up on 9/11, yet fail to plant any WMD in Iraq?
Why is he so incompetent in Iraq and yet pulls of a cover up bigger than the fake moon landing?
C’mon rosie, you cannot say Bush-or anyone- could pull off a 9/11 conspiracy. Those same people could then fake a few WMD’s in Iraq. He cannot be both brilliant and stupid. pick one.

  16. Now, now, let’s be reasonable here. Ugh didn’t ask for a correct explanation, he asked for a better explanation, such as, to pick one example, The moon is made of green cheese, or, if you prefer, Pardon me, but is that beet juice on your wool dress?

  17. Which specific assertions related to the timeline do you disbelieve? Or if you accept the timeline then how is that the Anti-rosie could sit down to read children a story about a goat when he and the people around him knew with absolute certainty that at least three hijacked jetliners were attacking the United States?
Your personal abuse doesn’t make me angry at all. I was once like you – when I saw the laughably stupid buffoons like Al Gore, John Kerry and their supporters lined up against Bush I automatically gravitated to the Republican side and was willing to give Bush, Cheney, et al. a lot of slack. But if you have a brain and a little bit of honesty then sooner or later you have to wake up and smell the stench of socialism. There is virtually no ideological or any other practical difference between the leading Democrats and the Republicans. They’re all for big – no MASSIVE – government, high taxes (even if Bush wants to slightly defer them by borrowing money), misguided foreign adventurism calculated to enrich their cronies and distract the public, pork, corruption and welfare.

  18. Ugh saw da LIGHT! Ugh wants us to see da LIGHT, just like he done. Nice Ugh! Good Ugh!
    Bushitler is EEEVVVILLLL!
    Thanks for the ipput, Ugh.
    You make Rosie look intelligent.

  19. Ugh saw da LIGHT! Ugh wants us to see da LIGHT, just like he done. Nice Ugh! Good Ugh!
    Bushitler is EEEVVVILLLL!
    Thanks for the input, Ugh.
    You make Rosie look intelligent.

  20. Ugh: When was Pres Bush elected, when did he get sworn in. When did he know he would win the election. When did the hijackers start their flying lessons. When did their lessons stop. When did Pres Bush get his first cabinet thru the senate. If, as you insinuate, he knew everything that was happening or going to happen, as he read his story, when did he start to plan the attack. To get it all in place in less than 9 months. That would mean he would have to be very smart, capable and secretive. How could he be so stupid, if he did all this in less time than it takes to have a baby. I would be more inclined to believe that it was the Clinton people who did it, as the head of the fbi, cia, military etc were all still in place and all appointed by Clinton. Think of all the attacks on US property, and troops, that he did nothing about. Makes as much sense as you do.

  21. O*Donnell, Paris Hilton, Alec Baldwin, Anna N. Smith, Tom Cruise, and you can think of dozens more.
Once you make a movie or two, or get featured in Playboy, then you are free to waste TV real estate like it was water and not worry about being tossed out on your ear.
I thought TV time was expensive. Some things remain a total mystery. = TG

  22. The simple explanation ugh seeks is this.
    Bush is a puppet.
    Cheney is the master.
See how easy it all is?
Everyone expects the President to be omnipresent(?). But it takes a huge staff to run that show. Bush wasn’t watching television at the time.
And all those disconnected federal agencies weren’t talking to each other, unlike they are supposed to do today.

  23. Forget the packets of Kool Aid.
Rosie’s so stupid she’d have a meltdown trying to figure out how to get 4 Litres water into that tiny package.

  24. Pardon my ignorance, because I don’t care in the least about Rosie O’Donnell, but isn’t she leaving “The View” next month?

  25. What her favorire flavor GRAPE,STRAWBERRY,CHERRY,TRAPICAL PUNCH OR OR WILD WACKY BERRY SPLASH?

  26. I think that Rosie and Ugh should form a consortium to build a bridge to Hell. They could use steel, because, as everyone is certainly aware of by now, even the fires of Hell would not be able to melt steel. A hat tip to Rosie and Ugh for setting our thinking straight on the real causes of 9/11.
    / sarc off. :))

  27. Engineers like Rosie and Ugh believe that the structural integrity of iron is impecable. Of course they’ve never sat in the seat of a 9299 American or a 4100 Manitowoc and pulled a critical lift.
Terms like “shock load” and ‘shear” are not a part of their edumcated venacular.
    That is all.

  28. Ugh
“So why, at 9:03 a.m.—fifteen minutes after it was clear the United States was under terrorist attack—did President Bush sit down with a classroom of second-graders and begin a 20-minute pre-planned photo op? No one knows the answer to that question. In fact, no one has even asked Bush about it.”
Actually, Bush didn’t know about the second tower being hit until at least 2 minutes into the already planned photo-op. Additionally, the FAA, etc. were still looking for flight 11 for 45 minutes after it already struck the first tower, etc…although, yes, they were aware that the tower had indeed been hit. At one point, a controller indicates that flight 11 was still hijacked and headed for Washington. That plane turned out to be the one that hit the Pentagon.
There was enormous confusion and miscommunication, lack of comprehension of the scale of the attack, etc.
There have been several documentaries presenting audio clips of the FAA, etc. and the timeline.
Why did Bush wait so long? We may never know. Perhaps it really was as he states, he wanted to project an image of calm. Was it the right thing to do? Probably not.
Watch “On Native Soil” for one focusing on the families attempts to get an investigation that ultimately became the “9-11 Commission”.
Or just read the report itself.
In this documentary, there is a close up of tower 2 at the moment of collapse. It is clearly visible that the corner buckles inwards and starts the cascade. There are no explosions evident at this moment. It fell on its own.

  29. About all you have correct is the times
    1) The plane hit at 8:43
    2) Bush started his photo op at 9:03
After that you go off of the rails. I was watching the coverage after the first plane hit, watch the CNN repeats and you tell me if anybody knew what had happened. My goodness they thought it was a cessna!
Nobody really got it till the second plane hit live. Even then the dough headed reporter on TV speculated that there was something wrong with the navigation system, listen to the news report on that day, gives a real picture of the confusion that day.
The air commands knew there were hijaked planes in those 15 minutes….15 minutes thats it, as the info begins to roll in. This is nothing.
Anyway, if you want to believe that this small coeterie was able to pull this off and have been able to keep all definitive proof hidden then that is your right. Jsut dont expect anybody to take you seriously….I am just amazed at what our education system produces these days. I am sure you believe in any one of a number of conspiracy theories all of which have circular self reinforcing logic…..you may want to consider speaking with a local mental health professional as I am concerned you may be of harm to yourself or others.

  30. Ugh, It wasn’t the evil Bush sitting in the school room; it was a plastic copy while the real Bushitler was flying the planes into the buildings.
Remember, he was a trained pilot.

  31. Any of you got a better explanation? Let’s hear it.
Try the truth! Read the 911 Commission report.
Your logic is so flawed. Bush is stupid but planned the most elaborate conspiracy in history. Not only that, we can’t keep national defense secrets secret, like tracking financial transactions of terrorists, but hundreds of people that would be required to make this happen have not leaked any of it to the press. Even a person whose hate for Bush is consuming has to see the stupidity of that premise.
Like Rosie, you don’t let facts stand in your way of having an opinion contrary to the facts. Rosie, the steel was sent to Staten Island where it was extensively studied to understand the failure mode. So her statement is demonstrably false but it does not stop her and those like her form making it and drawing false conclusions based on factually incorrect information.

  32. You have a point you know. A truly diobolocal conspiracist would have been in position to jump into motion immediately, in order to produce a photo op most favourable to his legacy.
Of course, chimpanzees who engineer the collapse of 105 story skyscrapers using thousands of pounds of hidden wires and explosives don’t think of things like that.
Now – go ask your parents what it was you did as a child that motivated them to send you to Idiot School.

  33. We all have our disagreements with President Bush. Immigration, U.S. Attorney firings, Iraq, Darfur, etc. are all hot topics these days. The following “speech” was written yesterday by an ordinary Maineiac. While satirical in nature, all satire must have a basis in fact to be effective. An excellent piece by a person who does not write for a living. Sent with the author’s permission.
The speech George W. Bush SHOULD give:
Normally, I start these things out by saying “My Fellow Americans.” Not doing it this time. If the polls are any indication, I don’t know who more than half of you are anymore. I do know something terrible has happened, and that you’re really not fellow Americans any longer.
I’ll cut right to the chase here: I quit. Now before anyone gets all in a lather about me quitting to avoid impeachment, or to avoid prosecution or something, let me assure you: there’s been no breaking of laws or impeachable offenses in this office.
The reason I’m quitting is simple. I’m fed up with you people.
I’m fed up because you have no understanding of what’s really going on in the world. Or of what’s going on in this once-great nation of ours. And the majority of you are too damned lazy to do your homework and figure it out.
Let’s start local. You’ve been sold a bill of goods by politicians and the news media. Polls show that the majority of you think the economy is in the tank. And that’s despite record numbers of homeowners including record numbers of MINORITY homeowners. And while we’re mentioning minorities, I’ll point out that minority business ownership is at an all-time high. Our unemployment rate is as low as it ever was during the Clinton Administration. I’ve mentioned all those things before, but it doesn’t seem to have sunk in.
Despite the shock to our economy of 9/11, the stock market has rebounded to record levels and more Americans than ever are participating in these markets. Meanwhile, all you can do is whine about gas prices, and most of you are too damn stupid to realize that gas prices are high because there’s increased demand in other parts of the world, and because a small handful of noisy idiots are more worried about polar bears and beachfront property than your economic security.
We face real threats in the world. Don’t give me this “blood for oil” thing. If I was trading blood for oil I would’ve already seized Iraq’s oil fields and let the rest of the country go to hell. And don’t give me this ‘Bush Lied People Died’ crap either. If I was the liar you morons take me for, I could’ve easily had chemical weapons planted in Iraq so they could be ‘discovered.’ Instead, I owned up to the fact that the intelligence was faulty. Let me remind you that the rest of the world thought Saddam had the goods, same as me. Let me also remind you that regime change in Iraq was official US policy before I came into office. Some guy named ‘Clinton’ established that policy. Bet you didn’t know that, did you?
You idiots need to understand that we face a unique enemy. Back during the cold war, there were two major competing political and economic models squaring off. We won that war, but we did so because fundamentally, the Communists wanted to survive, just as we do. We were simply able to outspend and out-tech them.
That’s not the case this time. The soldiers of our new enemy don’t care if they survive. In fact, they want to die. That’d be fine, as long as they weren’t also committed to taking as many of you with them as they can.. But they are. They want to kill you. And the bastards are all over the globe.
You should be grateful that they haven’t gotten any more of us here in the United States since September 11. But you’re not. That’s because you’ve got no idea how hard a small number of intelligence, military, law enforcement and homeland security people have worked to make sure of that. When this whole mess started, I warned you that this would be a long and difficult fight. I’m disappointed how many of you people think a long and difficult fight amounts to a single season of ‘Survivor’.
Instead, you’ve grown impatient. You’re incapable of seeing things through the long lens of history, the way our enemies do. You think that wars should last a few months, a few years, tops.
Making matters worse, you actively support those who help the enemy. Every time you buy the New York Times, every time you send a donation to a cut-and-run Democrat’s political campaign, well, dammit, you might just as well Fedex a grenade launcher to a Jihadist. It amounts to the same thing.
In this day and age, it’s easy enough to find the truth. It’s all over the Internet. It just isn’t on the pages of the New York Times or on NBC News. But even if it were, I doubt you’d be any smarter. Most of you would rather watch American Idol.
I could say more about your expectations that the government will always be there to bail you out, even if you’re too stupid to leave a city that’s below sea level and has a hurricane approaching. I could say more about your insane belief that government, not your own wallet, is where the money comes from. But I’ve come to the conclusion that were I to do so, it would sail right over your heads.
So I quit. I’m going back to Crawford. I’ve got an energy-efficient house down there (Al Gore could only dream) and the capability to be fully self-sufficient. No one ever heard of Crawford before I got elected, and as soon as I’m done here pretty much no one will ever hear of it again. Maybe I’ll be lucky enough to die of old age before the last pillars of America fall.
Oh, and by the way, Cheney’s quitting too. That means Pelosi is your new President. You asked for it. Watch what she does carefully, because I still have a glimmer of hope that there’re just enough of you remaining who are smart enough to turn this thing around in 2008.
So that’s it. God bless what’s left of America. Some of you know what I mean.

  34. The fact Rosie is on airwave national TV is proof there is a demographic of neurotic trailer park women to be exploited by the networks…the only thing left to do is sung Rosie’s time slot next to a daytime ABC Info-tainment news program and get more revenues from hair dye sponsors.

  35. Sperwing Plover – You’re wondering what color Kool Aid to send Rosie? Let’s create one and call is “idiot”. That would be the one to send her.

  36. Great post Ross and unfortunately too true.
We live in an age of fast food fixes and most people want instant gratification NOW.
also a lot of people out their in consumerville have the mental capacity of a gnat.
The motto of the day for so many seems to be,”don’t bother me with facts…just feed me,and hurry up”
Lazy thinking in a lazy age.

  37. Ross – awesome post! I loved it (and I hated it) because it rings so damn true. I can only hope that there really is a “silent majority” that will wake up and revolt against the lazy, stalinist, traitorous minority that seems to have the megaphone today. Oh, and Rosie isn’t just a loon….she’s a loon with money and a stage. I hope she self destructs in a way that gets her charged with sedition while choking on undissolved kool-aid.

  38. Excellent post Ross. I’m sending to a few freaks I know (here in Toronto) if you don’t mind.
The war on terror. The war on climate change. Etc. are minor skirmishes when compared to the real war of our generation.
    The war on idiots.
If lost, that’ll be the guaranteed end of us all.

  39. Ross, that speech deserves to published nationwide. If today’s prevaling attitude existed in our past, we’d all be whistling “Dixie”, while dining on sushi wearing Lederhosen and funny hats.

  40. conspiracy theorists aren’t just dumb (although they are that,) they’re also the most blindly fanatical, fact-deficient, willfully ignorant, stunted idiots on the face of the earth.
To believe this stuff you have to believe in a way so furvently you make extreme religious cults look like the Harvard debating club.
You have to not only be devoid of facts but be unwilling to look at any.

  41. The irony of our modern internet society is that people have more access to information than ever, yet seem more ignorant than ever. There was a time when people waited for the facts, and the experts, to determine their stand on an issue. Now any moonbat idiot can stand as an “expert.”
Ugh is a case in point, asking questions for which there are likely an infinite number of responses, yet because he/she can’t come up with one, then there is a smoking gun.
I know this is just cause an effect arguing, but two large planes, full of fuel, crashed into the World Trade Centre towers, and soon after, they collapsed. Unless people can refute that cause, using proper engineering and math, maybe they shouldn’t draw ignorant conclusions, especially based on their personal ideology or hatred of GWB.

  42. How sad and inconsequential do you have to be to let a co-host of a women’s morning talk show be your focal point??? Love her or hate her she is a non-entity on the political stage.
Also Ross and his supporters should probably look for another country to live in if they can’t figure out how to get along with others who have different viewpoints. America is clearly not for you. That was about the stupidest comment I’ve read in a long time.

  43. Uh, spanish fly…”we” aren’t the ones trying to kill your fellow Americans. We’re just trying to point out the obvious…to the oblivious, I guess.

  44. Bush’s actions on 9/11 made perfect sense to me then, and they do now. He was told the first plane hit as he walked into the room. He thought it was a major pilot error – he’d already engaged the class when the second plane hit and he was told about it. He was in a roomful of children he did not wish to scare. He had his assistant whispering what was going on in his ear and he had the SS saying, “we’re making double sure he’s safe before we leave here, so it will take a few more minutes. If we’re under attack, our responsibility is to make sure every parameter here is doublechecked. It’s not like he could have jumped off his chair and saved the day…he stayed calm and kept his cool and left at the first instant he reasonably could without throwing the nation, the press and everyone into a panic when no one really knew what the hell was going on.
But of course, if you’re a Bush hater, none of that makes sense, and the only thing he should have done was starting crying and running to save NY.
And of course, had he done that, the Bush haters would now be saying, “look, he was playing the cameras and trying to act like a hero, HE MUST HAVE KNOWN it was all going to happen…that’s why he made sure he was far away from ny and with lots of cameras around him.”
You know you would be saying it.
You people are pathetic in your hate. The Righties who hated Clinton never began to approach the sick hatred you nurture in your breast and live for. And you’re not going to get better, even when Bush is out of office, because you have decided you love the hate.
