  1. Care to make a wager Kate? Loser has to post a photo of themselves in the winning teams jersey…
I can understand if you wouldn’t want to take me up on it, knowing that your little rodent won’t be on the field and all…

  2. If I go with my head I have to say
    Stamps 34 Riders 11.
(My heart says Riders 56 Stamps 2)
But since the Huskies won yesterday all is good.

  3. right now in the Eastern semi, it’s Wpg.27 Godless devils from the East 17.
    Calgary 35-Gophertown 18

  4. 27-24 in the east and the Bombers just gave the ball to TO with 6 minutes left…
    Calgary 27, Sask 10.
    The Cup will be Montreal/Calgary

  5. Who cares? The only thing that will be decided in this game will be the loser and runner-up loser in the West.

  6. the argos beat the bombers. Grey cup is in ‘peg this year. If BC beats the Riders (Or calgary), we can expect about 3000 paid attendance for the final.

  7. Guess I’ll eat my words. The Riders decided to play after all! Between Keith and Lloyd, what a second half!

  8. Wheee go Riders.
Smilin Hank is back… 4 ints and a fumble.
At least I am smilin for him ๐Ÿ™‚

  9. Aunt Vera would be pleased with the finnal score!
Period vs quarter – not a sports guy!
    Good game.
    Bye from Ontario
    Glenn

  10. Yeah,… I wanna blame the refs too. I’m still watching that Stamp fumble on the 1 yard line. I still think the knee was probably down…. But I’m still not seeing the indisputable evidence to overturn the call.

  11. – one of the other greg’s predicted Riders 31 Stamps 26 ๐Ÿ˜‰
…ever think of taking up Lotto 649?
umm, hey buddie, ah, what do you think is next weeks number?

  12. I was peelin’ vegies for the missus! She had the radio tuned to a different station!Damn I knew it was going be close!

  13. My wife and I went to the local Pub to watch the game
game (dressed in our usual Rider gear). Boss is away-Stamp fan females were slow serving, decided to have an open mic jam when our guys had the ball, and generally ticked me off for one quarter.Went to another pub down the street and had a great time. Have a new fave pub now. Itsall right
we got game and a win away from the biggie.
Miss the toon’er (but not that much)
    Go Riders!
    Go BRCI!

  14. Barret’s call to go for the TD at the end of the 2nd quarter was a gutsy call. Saskatchewan couldn’t have won without putting it on the line at critical times and they did it more than once.
I hope their punting gets a shot of consistency by next weekend otherwise Congi’s might have very green grass on his lawn next spring.

  15. Congrats Riders fans, excellent game.
Now for the bad news. I did a leettle research on the following question:
Q: How long does it take for a lion to kill, consume and completely digest a gopher?
A: Four quarters of 15 minutes each.
    GO LIONS!

  16. Congratulations Saskatchewan Roughriders and their many many fans, now bring on the wet coast! Calgary had no heart today and the best team won hands down.

  17. This Rider fan living in Victoria is going to the game Sunday, and shall not receive any comeuppance from coworkers for the next 5 days as I’ll be predicting victory over the Lions, ad nauseum! lol

  18. I just read a report of the game on TSN’s web site. They report alot of nashing of teeth on the part of the Stampeder players. Its interesting to read their comments like – the officiating was terrible, we took bad penalties, Reynolds wanted the ball more, Henry threw interceptions and so on. Only Copeland offered that “we played like crap”. No one else came close to saying that the Riders KICKED THEIR CAN ALL OVER THE FIELD!
Think back to the game. How many times was there a pause in the play so that on Stampeder player or another was helped off the field because of an injury? Remember seeing two such players hobbling to the dressing room just prior to half time? Now how many Riders left the field due to an actual injury? None that I can remember. Kenton was tended to because of a leg cramp.
This was a very physical beating the Riders laid on the Stamps. Great lick Lloyd put on Henry! I agree that the Lions are not going to be too crazy about facing the Riders next Sunday. You will be able to measure their anxiety by the amount of trash talking by them in the media this coming week. Go Riders!

  19. “…..couldn’t hit a pig’s ass with a shovelful of wheat.”
Now, that is what you call picturesque!

  20. Great game. Our D was awesome and Burris was himself again. Good job O on making adjustments for the second half.

  21. Just watched the Breakfast Show on CityTV. They had Jim Barker, the Stamps President on. He cowboy’d up and said that the Riders were stronger, faster, and they had a better game plan, executed better and deserved to win. Classy Jim. We appreciate that.
P.S. I couldn’t help but chuckle, their newscaster is from Langbank and total Rider Prider too so it was fun that she could smile all morning doing the news.

  22. Scroll up to the very top of this page and you will find a picture of Gainer the Gopher…I think he partied a little too hard last night.

  23. Tough loss for the Stamps.
Way to go Riders and Welcome to B.C. and I hope Gainer will be welcome on the sidelines for the game.
Any town that bans a gopher mascot from the sidelines is and always will be losers. IMHO.

  24. different bob watched a different game than the one I saw. Pretty sure I sat and watched the whole thing through at the stadium.
Riders O’ and D’ lines won the battle in the trenches. No questions there. And that was the biggest factors in the outcome. 7 turnovers from the Stamps and Riders barely won.
2 stamps were injured early in the game but there were more “injury” time outs for Saskatchewan players.
Best summary of the game was my own. The Riders didn’t so much earn the win as the Stamps earned the loss.
    Congrats to the Riders

  25. dkjones says that there were more injuries on the field for the Riders than for the Stamps. Yes, dk you were watching a different game than the one I watched. Your problem is that you were watching it from the stadium. I had the luxury of watching it on tv where you actually get to see who is injured and who just has a leg cramp.
Name me the Riders who were helped off the field. The only one I can honestly remember is Kenton Keith and all he had was a leg cramp. He came back in the next series and continued his inspired play. If you were actually there you would have seen that the Riders laid a brutal physical beating on the Stamps. Think about Lloyd’s hit on Henry as well as his hit on the punt returner later on (sorry, can’t remember the name – much as the returner can’t remember the Lloyd’s name, only his number as it get frighteningly close to him). LOL
